Thinking of buying a Huawei P10? Well it's definitely not a new phone any more, but it continues to be one of our favorite devices of 2017. I think I said it once in a podcast, and I'll say it again today: I love the way that Huawei has matured in the flagship space. A few years ago people bought a Huawei because it was all they could afford, but in 2017, a good amount of my friends know about and desire the Huawei P10. Watch our full episode of After The Buzz to learn why.

WUKONG MAIN P10 plus is still not IP67 or 68 nor it has a better headphone output, being as mediocre as any other Kirin powered phone.
The "dual" speakers are the same as in the P9 plus that I owned, nothing special about them, a normal bottom speaker helped by a tiny close to distortion speaker.

From reading the comments I noticed people give hate on this phone out of ignorance. The latest EMUI is very different from what it used to be. It is very polished and light on the RAM. The ONLY reason I would prefer the S8 over the P10 is water proofing. But the latest EMUI is smooth as butter and stays that way over time, unlike every single Samsung phone needing factory resets ever few months. Yes the game loaded faster on the S8, by half a second, but what really matters is gameplay and the Kirin SOC is much better than Qualcomm.

Watching this vid on my P10 in 2020. Other than the fingerprint scanner which now fails to recognize me every now and then, my P10 is still fluid, no lags, battery lasts at least for a day (Spotify stream + youtube + social media + a bit of games) The only time my battery drains fast is if I play PokemonGo which is kind of known as a battery drainer.
I'm so in love with this phone ❤️

For P10 battery is not so good, but P10 plus battery is acceptable. Everything is running well. and I love its front home button, it is easy to use than at the back. Esp, camera is perfect for taking photo, but for video is 1080p with 60fps is the best choice to record.

I need advice. Back in 2014 I bought the Galaxy S5 and it's still running rather good, with a few flaws such as the wifi lag and the battery... anyways, I'm sonsidering switching to the P10, and am a bit worried about how that would work for me because the next time I'll be bying a new phone after this would be in a few years. Basicaly if it turns out to suck or lags up in a year I'm stuck with it. Plus, I'm soooo used to my S5 and it's features, it's almost of sentimental value to me lol. Is the P10 a good choice for me?

Actually just pointing out it does have splash resistance and I don't know what he means by audio not being good because to me it sounds great and the speakers are loud and clear. One thing I noticed is the music player that comes with it tends to be erratic at times, skipping or not showing my music at times and also brief echoes of my own voice during calls but only I can hear them. A part from that it is a great phone.

I really like your after the buzz videos, thanks!
Two years ago I barely knew about Huawei other than the company that really put the hurt on Ericsson (am from Sweden) with regards to telecommunications equipment, and to some extent been using their mobile modems for some years.
After trying out the Honor 8 last year and now recently switched to a P10 Plus, Huawei has become my go-to brand. I love how lag free and fast it is, even better with more use as it seems to learn my usage patterns.
Coming from a period of iPhone, I really like their EMUI as I think it's clean and made the switch a bit more familiar, Camera is superb and when going manual, wow, I love it! Build quality is also top notch, second to none.
I can't see me switching brand any time soon and this comes out of how well this phone performs after several months, actually less trouble free and faster than any other phone I owned. It just works whatever I want to do and as a bonus is beautiful to look at.

Hi i have a few questions about heat on the phone.
I know it gets hot when gaming most phones do but is it dangerously hot for the phone? Like it can decrese performance?
And does it get warm when doing basic things? Like cheking facebook, setting, using flaslight and talking on the phone?
But also does it get warm or stay cold when you charge it without using it?

on a side note the hardware stability on the video has been improved on the 1080p 60fps as far as I can see been using this phone for a while and I am not dissapointed. I hope the next P Series device has a IP rating and duel speakers and the audio Jack , can't forget to add that small detail.

I have a P9 and been using it for a while. The funny thing is, it replaced my iPhone 7. Nothing wrong with the iPhone I just find using the P9 a lot more "Fun" and unrestrictive. I don't like the fact Huawei went "backwards" and placing a home button in front of the P10 when most manufacturers are placing it in the back (like the P9) or doing away with it all together.

Because there is like 100 usd difference and I dont own much, as I understood the functionality and all are the same, but p10 has leica lens, but, I find the honor 9 really ugly with the curve glass on the back....but again, 100 usd....what you think? ke9ine Low light crap? It's about the most important thing about a smartphone camera. But fine, you go ahead and settle for less.

i honestly get your point when i first read your comment. but you dont really have to spam it all over the comment section right? make it as a separate comment and you made your point. I do feel bad for the people who watch just one review before they go for a phone. Me i watched as many reviews as i can and i got the idea that p10 doesnt do well in low light when compared to its competition. But do you know that Mate 9 received an update to remove noise in low light and tweak a bit of its quality? So im assuming p10 will get an update as well since they are the same cameras. Even if not i know what im getting. Anyway when im looking to buy a phone i just dont check camera only, i look for the design, decent battery life, decent audio, reasonable price and most importantly how it ages because i dont have money to get a phone every year or two. i atleast need the phone to run for 3 years. I have many friends who are using huawei and all their phones aged well. Thanks for your opinion on low light photos but its just annoying to see when someone just copy paste the same thing over and over again in comments. No hard feelings tho. Peace!

The camera is really a night vision king!
If you get a tripod (just a cheap one) and turn on the "night shot"- no camera can beat that!!

Wtf why do you get only 12 h on your phone at 76%? Just recieved mine yesterday and it says 58h and if i put it on ultra saving I get 102h. Don't know if it's an error or the real deal.

I've got the p10 lite and even that being a cut down version of this version, I still better specs then the phones in its price point, still 1080p screen and a 4gb of ram and excellent battery life and still got fast charge.

I accidentally stumbled upon my Huawei P10 Plus. I initially bought the mate 9 Lite as a temporary phone after I lost my OnePlus One. it worked so well and I was so surprised by huawei software and Hardware but especially the camera. I decided to upgrade to the Huawei P10 Plus and cancelled an order that I had for a OnePlus 5. so far it's been a month and I absolutely love the phone and I heard a lot of people complaining about the navigation key fingerprint reader but it works pretty Flawless for me I don't see what the fuss is about. also it does have semi stereo speakers because the ear speaker functions as a speaker and it does give it a 3D quality sound. this is the most satisfied I have ever been with a phone and it came completely unexpectedly

Seems like I made a good purchase then, got The P10 Plus yesterday and it feels good so far. Though it feels like it runs a bit for sometimes, but that may just be me as I have never really just a metal phone before.
And I have to say the fingerprint scanner is so fast!! 😵 😛

Fernando Gonzales My wife's new P10 was terrible at low light compared to my 2 year old S6 Edge. Very grainy. She's very disappointed. She wanted to try something different after years of Samsung. She regrets that now.

Id LOVE the gestures on the fingerprint sensor if it was swipe left to go back, touch to go home and swipe right to go to multitasking (like on the Palm Pre pretty much). Long-pressing the thing to go home is just not intuitive imho.

I picked one of these up almost new for £375 bargain. Had a 3t that was very good but wanted something a little smaller! I disagree with battery life, I don't game but use my phone a good bit through the day and still have usually about 60% battery left the time I head home from work.

A great phone, and one I almost went with. Most reviews have been very complimentary, but the thing that swayed me towards its other competitors was the quality of the panel, or lack thereoff. Whilst very bright, it had an odd colour cast which meant that colour accuracy was very poor - correcting this via the built-in settings was quite difficult to do well. When put side by side with the iPhone 7, Galaxy S8, LG G6, the screen just didn't deliver. It reminded me of the days before AMOLED tech had matured. I wish Huawei spent more time calibrating the display, and therefore strongly recommend anyone contemplating this phone to try it before buying.
