I don't get what LG's doing. Here in Europe, we won't have the quad DAC, we won't have wireless charging, we won't have more than 32gb of internal storage. But we'll sure have the 749€ price tag ! All of this is a complete deal breaker, and that should definitely be emphasized in every review of the device. This is unacceptable.

the extra taxes cover the $ to € conversion though, like normally something in the US is 400$, here its 400€ but the purchase has taxes included as well, sometimes the US doesnt and it happens to be the same price

I think nowadays the smartphone dilemmas people will face will involve less of "is Phone X better than Phone Y?" and will have more to do with the nuances within each individual phone. Like, if you are a typical Sunday stroller walking into a shop, any smartphone will be a win, given our strides in ensuring a certain level of reliability and performance is provided by any smartphone, but now what will differentiate between these smartphones will be the nature of the philosophies each smartphone manufacturer adopts. Having said that, I like how you have evolved from the "is this phone good or bad" review technique to the "if you are part of Audience X, will this phone appeal to you?" which is a positive trend I also notice among other notable reveiwers, so kudos to you!! :)

We maybe closer to that point ...... in some instances , but ........... you still have to do your homework , the word flagship gets bandied about very ,very , very easily these days , but in actual fact a lot of these " Flagships " are mid range pretenders , and once you scrape off the pretty veneer on the outside of some of these devices , when you analyze them in detail , they are no where near what they are cooked up to be . .

Why not compare it with Huawei P10 Plus??? It is more premium than P10 and better specs to compete with LG G6

Using mate 9 for 3 months now.... it's a beast that just doesn't slow down.. was forced to choose it replacing my note 7 and I'm just not believing it's performance.

Fair Human already done....and using nova launcher so it's just insane.
However once a note user always note user.... will replace it with the note 8 but I know for a fact nothing except the OnePlus is coming close to Huaweis kirin chipset performance in the Android world anytime soon.

What settings are you using to export 1080p60fps? I'm uploading to my channel and I can watch 1080p 60fps in the computer but on the phone only 480p or 720p60fps. Can you help me here JC. Thanks!

I've had the LG G3 and V10 and each one has become a laggy overheating mess after a few months. You can't slow down Kirin processors in Huawei.

awesome review as always but video was out of focus in so many places. the center was good but the bottoms were very out of focus. again awesome video maybe I'm nitpicking
I don't really think this is a fair comparison for either phone. How can you compare battery life of a full HD 5.1" screen and a QHD 5.7" screen?
How else is he supposed to compare it? It's not like users will manually switch their resolution to 1080P while watching videos, comparing it to the P10 Plus results are probably gonna be similar since it has a bigger battery, Huaweis have superb battery life and efficient SOCs.
Though the P10 Plus has more ram and is water resistant, I agree it won't have much of a difference, but still...
JZ VR What I mean is wouldn't you expect the P10 to have better battery life with a full HD and smaller screen? It would make the P10 look really bad if it had worse battery life. And yet how can the G6 compete with the P10 with a 5.7" QHD screen. That's what I was trying to say.
Scott Morey If you have doubts about what mobile phone buy, the truth it is that the P10 consume less battery than G6, even if the screen is smaller or have less resolution. But if you want to compare well, it is true that the screen size and the resolution it is important to know the really battery consume.

Look at the screen in person if you can, Huawei screens are top notch don't just swear by AMOLED.

I thought AMOLED uses more power than regular LCD? Only when in dark backgrounds does AMOLED use less power.

i always love your review because I almost got all the information I want specially on the audio side and I hope you can include also the bluetooth audio quality and the call quality on both loud speaker and earpiece .. most of the reviewer don't give much importance on this but for me, this is the most important ...

What variant of the G6 was tested in this comparison? I was under the impression that the Quad DAC would only be in the South Korean model, unless your guys' unit had no DAC yet still produced good headphone output.

Juan, please answer this.. When you compare speakers(mono like this two), do you go into "settings/acessibilty/merge channels in mono" before playing it out?
I'm an iPhone user but if I had to choose between the two I would choose the P10. I really liked the depth of field in the photos using the dual cameras (they seemed far superior than those I take with my 7 plus which are processed by software) and battery life seems to be better. Those are features that seem more practical at least for me in my everyday life rather than waterproofing and wireless charging.

750$ for the G6, kinda expensive compared to the S8 which will be way better
agustin zambrano heredia Here in America Huawei has a very low brand value. I would pay $100 extra for LG over Huawei any day even if they had the same specs. Don't really wanna trust any Chinese brands till they bump up their brand value.
This comparison was like really high quality food but it left me hungry for even more :D

@juan - great comparison, LG stepped up their game; I think once the software is finalized it is going to be one of the best phones of 2017. Also I would prefer an LG just for the audio, camera and not to mention the display. I am not sure if Samsung will implement the palm rejection for its curved display in a way thats not intrusive when operating.
What are your thoughts on it?
One suggestion: Could you guys clean up your playlists on the channel; its pretty cluttered and hard to find stuff. :)

I'd take the Huawei in a heartbeat. I'm not a heavy... err, I mean 'power' user and neither do games, fancy screens and cameras interest me. I just want the performance. I have no patience for stuttery, laggy performance.

Princy Unfortunately. Smart business move to eliminate a prime time feature no one took advantage of to cut cost. I still have a Note 4 so Im not heart broken. When my battery dies I pop a new one in.

I like both but I would choose P10 all day and pocket that extra $100. But the G6 sounds like a better phone for porn (screen, audio, waterproofing 💦)
G6 Wins if you want a phone that stops dead after a year. Production issues are what is haunting them after the marvelous G2.So my money is better spent on Huawei, Maybe P10 Plus.
Don't trust the Chinese phone. Though it has some advantages, build quality will always lag behind.
I had an lg g4, and it died on me, having p9lite, that works better than the g4 in every way. So in my opinion, Korea is not to be trusted...

Only talking about my previous experience with a previous model, I had the g2 - excellent, G3- a friend had the same experience as I had with the g4, so after owning 2 flagship models and having real and empyric information about a third one, I concluded. Also, having a p9 LITE with 2gb ram, that works better than a g4, for my usage, and having close experience with two Xiaomi redmi note 4, one o which I own and use daily, and a Xiaomi redmi 4 pro I have enough to state, that LG is failing to produce a quality price/performance product, as it once has(G2). Is it enough to make that claim or the g6? Individually no, but I found that spending that much money on a phone to have a feature that is obsolete in a year, is pointless. I've found more joy not to waste money on a phone that is going to be used in the same manner as a 300$ phone. The fact is that every phone you buy, you lose 30-40% within 6 months. And if it does not sell good globally, you loose more.
Why not compare G6 camera with P10 Plus? I heard the Plus had better set up than the standard P10. Or is it true?

I trust your channel and Agreed agreed agreed.. I am a samsung guy who recently lost his S7 edge and still paying for it. I had to go for another flagship and S8 was my obvious choice. But since it almost required my entire saving plan of the coming year, I was looking for a proper replacement. And after a lot of research and convincing myself, I finally bought the G6. Its just amazing.. nobody talks about this phone that much after S8 came.. but for the price I got it, I'm glad I bought this. What a phone.. Thanx to this CHANNEL that gave me confidence to even start researching about this.

If you don't have the p10 plus, this VS is useless, p10 is like s7, nobody likes it everybody buy the s7 edge so p10 plus is the real unit that you need to make this VS.

Well, I am thinking to replace my aging Honor-8 for the LG G6, Always a year behind in order to obtain best value, I've had my H8 for over a year, even tho it's an 016 phone, I love it and never really gave me any trouble. The P10 is somewhat similar to the H8 in features and performance, not to mention a great camera, Unfortunately P10s are still selling here for over $700- on the other hand last year's G6 is now avail for a price of a mid-ranger phone. I am not about to lose my NFC and USB-C for a low end phone, although the Huawei Mate SE is a tempting choice. I am rather attracted to the versatility and 18.9 screen of the LG. Would you stick to your H8 or upgrade to the G6?

battery, Performance and Software literally the 3 most Important things on a phone and all 3 are better on the p10. so guess which phone is better....
real world application is just as important. theres legit no point in having a phone you cant pull out in the rain or cant see in glaring sunlight just a few examples otherwise i agree with you

Naturally the LGG6 wins. It's a more elegant refined phone. A fairer comparator would be the Galaxy S8/8+ to see how they perform. Samsung has the slight edge on the Snapdragon 835 processor. Camera and Audio would be great to review!

Maybe i'm a sole proud owner of a G4. That phone is an outstanding performer. I broke the glass but it's still working fine and I am far from willing to change it.

JCV, Your audio background makes you perfect guy to ask this question: WHERE'S MY DAC?!? Ok, no yelling. Your explanation of phone audio was awesome. Still, marketing aside, is there a good practical, technical EXCUSE for LG trading the DAC/AMP for ... wireless charging? I'll plug my phone in HAPPILY for DAC! ...I mean, "...happily for DAC." I play music, AND binaural beats on a wired headset. I NEEEEEEEED/really want DAC. Ok, enough whining.
But we're still going to get a real camera review for the g6 (and p10plus) right? Right?!? :o
Personally I prefer P10's more classic look. The glossy finish of G6 attracts more dirt and finger prints. Plus P10 has green and blue! Inside, P10 is a beast that G6 can't compete. If you like playing games, P10 is the way to go.
I dunno, the P10 for me just looks dated, Huawei used to make phones with the best screen to body ratio, that's what brought me in, they have dropped the ball to Samsung oh and LG of all people, I am still looking in to Honor tho, the 8 Pro looks good.

The reason I'm answering like that is because I apsolutely hate people which don't give a reason why they don't like a phone and why they like some othet phone alot more. Let me give you an example: I don't like the iPhone, why? Well in my opinion the ammount of stuff you get on the iphone is not enough for the money. No headphone jack, no wireless charging, only 3gb of ram in the 7 plus... So couldn't he just type out why he likes the p10 alot more? Maby I want to buy one of these phones, so I'm reading comments to see peoples opinions on the pros and cons of these phones. Just saying you like the p10 more than the g6 does't help me, it doesn't help anyone tbh.

you should check your file manager for a folder called "btsnoop" it's actually a Bluetooth log files folder which keeps up heaped up in Android nougat. I had some around 5.8 GB of waste log files deleted

You can't know for certain. The S8 might be utter crap, but it might be the best phone of 2017.

processor for sure like the p10, OLED for sure but since it is only a fragile edge display that can be a con, iris scanner, not really needed but cool, faster focusing, but no wide angle, looks can go either way, possibly battery life, better marketing for sure.
Probably equal audio by akg/harman/jbl, who they just bought.
price should be close, lg should be cheaper because of 32GB, no quad dac, and no 64 base model, but we will have to wait to see how greedy they are as an underdog, which should not be greedy at all.
