Tell about your beliefs its values (as u believe) and still if they are not willing... who are you to enforce it, when they don't want it. Yes clearly it's not a choice. But to believe in God and obey his rules are the choice of a person. And Muslims never enforce Islamic rules on non Muslims. Like you said for people living in secular countries individual freedom comes first. But Iran is a Muslim country and has Muslim values not liberal values. That being said there is no specific punishment designated in Islam for ladies not wearing hijab. So killing a lady for not wearing a hijab is a bigger crime in Islam than not wearing hijab. And if you understand the news, the people protesting in Iran are not against hijab but against the moral police who seems to have too much power there.

Islam or Christianity or Hinduism..in most cases people are born into those parents..kids sont have a choice. Once they are born, parents start teaching them the religion. Later if they feel that they don't want to follow the religion, it should be upto them. We can't compare doctor and religion.. there are people who go to doctor to get an opinion and another doctor for a second opinion.
No comparisons are 100% identical. If they were, we wouldn't use analogy there, because the two would already mean the same thing. But the point is: Once you chose a moral system and criterion, there is no point in saying that this is my choice in each and every thing. If theft is immoral in your moral system, you cant steal..! even if you steal money, you would feel guilty. There is no choice in that.

All of them who want to wear it just wear it and who don't want to wear it u can talk to them... Tell about your beliefs its values (as u believe) and still if they are not willing... who are you to enforce it, when they don't want it.
Lets be clear it is not a "Choice".. if u are born in muslim family/ country u have to wear it, if u are not wearing it u will be forced (by society) / beaten (by family) / jailed (in islamic countries).
And I am commenting because i living along with my muslim brother and sisters and in secular country where individuals freedom is considered ( before their religion).
Yes clearly it's not a choice. But to believe in God and obey his rules are the choice of a person. And Muslims never enforce Islamic rules on non Muslims. Like you said for people living in secular countries individual freedom comes first. But Iran is a Muslim country and has Muslim values not liberal values. That being said there is no specific punishment designated in Islam for ladies not wearing hijab. So killing a lady for not wearing a hijab is a bigger crime in Islam than not wearing hijab. And if you understand the news, the people protesting in Iran are not against hijab but against the moral police who seems to have too much power there.
State has right to enforce laws. Every country in the world has laws even liberal countries have laws.
