I appreciate this video. Going to look at one of these tomorrow that hopefully needs only some minor carb work.

Did you do anything else to cure the bad starting /cold running eg rev and bogging out other than clean carb and replace filter , im having same issues on my daughters kayo70 your video doesnt mention what cured it

Just bought my son a new kayo fox 70 for his 5th birthday. I was actually very surprised by it lol. Pretty damn quick once you get moving haha.

Funny I was just working on this thing and cussing the whole time because of the locations of the screws for the plastics and such, and having to remove the handlebars. The thing you pointed to and said it's the brain box I think is the remote kill switch....yours appears to be mounted with double sided tape. The one I have is mounted in that area but behind the gas tank...WITH PHILLIPS SCREWS. So I had to either remove the gas tank or get a screwdriver under the gas tank to hold the screws to get it out. Had to remove it because my nephew swore that was the problem with no-start and he read we could cut the wires and jumper two wires to deactivate it. He ended up giving me the quad or he was throwing it away, so I soldered the remote box back together and emailed the company and they said you can just unplug it to deactivate. Anyway, the CDI box is in front of the gas tank mounted on the frame. Looks like you're also missing a reflector on the left rear bracket.

Yeah not the easiest thing to work in for sure! That makes sense about the remote kill. Does yours take a while to warm up and idle off choke

@@fubarsnafu82 No, after a minute or two I can take off choke, but you can't give it much throttle off choke until it warms up. The carbs on these things seem to be the biggest weak point with the varying problems. I only just got this thing running yesterday but I started it cold about 5 times on choke, after a minute or so it will idle without choke. I was surprised because my nephew said it hasn't been started since last summer.

I agree maybe a carb upgrade will unlock the full potential of these quads.

what is the hose coming out of the carb that runs down to the ground, drain for the carb bowel?

I’ll have to check but from memory it might be the overflow

My son has had this quad for about a year or so. Bought it brand new since day 1 it hasn't ran without choke being full open all the time well now its not running good even with choke wide open. Any 19mm carb you'd recommend or brand you've had best experience with? Thanks man!!

Sorry to hear that I don’t have much experience with carbs on these things they don’t seem very robust, I would search and see what eBay or Amazon have to offer I would not spend a lot on a new carb for it. Look at pictures ect to get a close match

I was just looking around for a carb for this quad. My nephew had a 2021 for 2 years for his daughter and it wouldn't start the other day, so we spent 4 hours trying to figure it out. We didn't get too far and he said "you take it or it's going in the dumpster, I'm not screwing around with this thing anymore". I messed with it for hours and finally figured out the micro switches on the brake levers were broken from sitting outside all winter. Those switches supply power to the solenoid when you pull the brake to start it. After I got it running it didn't seem to have much power so I was looking at upgrades and I see everyone recommends a PZ19 made in Japan carb. You want the one with the choke linkage (not the lever, unless you want to reach under the bike to choke every time). Only problem is the throttle tube on top I think should be 90 degrees and I can only find one that's 45 degrees, but the one on Amazon sold by HIAORS has a 45 degrees and several people said it's a perfect fit for the Fox 70, but one guy says it's not because of that tube on top. I don't know but most of the other PZ19 carbs are made in China. If you get that one let me know how it works.

Anyone who has this kayo 70 have any issues with the lack of power when taking it on any terrain ? Seems mine need a push just to get it going and my daughter is 7 and doesn’t weigh much. . But on the street it seems to run ok . I have also removed the throttle screw and still not enough take off power
