    Dude!!!! I’ve been following you for years and my a/c finally decided to poop 💩 the bed and guess what? I wasn’t sceeerd! Through your videos I immediately diagnosed the problem when I heard the compressor making a loud noise. I had a hunch that it was the capacitor and it was. Thanks and I always throw a 👍 like whenever you post. Thanks again bro and wishing you well.

    • @LexVance
      @LexVance  ปีที่แล้ว

      See if there's a fire damper above the air handler in the plenum. You'll have to cut the plenum to see. Use foil tape to tape it back. If the fire damper is closed, it'll freeze the unit due to no air flow. Try to open them back up with big zip ties or something. Thank you so much for watching William!

      Just found your channel good stuff! I saw your Carrier video. Made me not so happy but I am thinking like you mentioned mostly self inflicted installers not following proper procedure. We have 2 two year old Carrier's in a new house. One started running the inside blower 24/7. I ran some tests it was the X13 module like most of them. Even though it was under warranty it was cheaper for me to buy a rescue motor than pay the labor for the free part. Thanks Carrier! How many X13's are going bad there? Luckily I would rather have it stuck on than off. The third symptom is they ramp on and off. My smaller unit has a Broad Ocean ECM. Are you finding those go bad as well? I might have to go OEM on that not sure anyone makes a rescue for that one.

    • @LexVance
      @LexVance  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@scotts4125 Yes, Ecm modules are going out a lot on 3 year old units. I prefer the old school motors with the 5 mfd capacitor.

    • @scotts4125
      @scotts4125 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LexVance Yes PSC motors that lasted 30 years. The ECM motors are supposed to me more efficient but when they don't last you aren't saving any money. It's not actually the motors but the modules that break. In many cases a new motor is cheaper than the just replacing the module. It's really nuts they can't make these modules better. Some guys convert ECM's to PSC's. There is a board you install to make it really easy although it can be done without the board.
