As a service technician it is my supervisor that rushes me through the service calls. Hence multiple service calls to fill my day not knowing the technical difficulties of each service call. Which is why I am no longer a service technician.
Love the videos skid. I'm coming up on my 3rd year of apartment maintenance work with no previous experience. Started as a porter now I'm assistant. I owe my competence to peer teaching and videos like these. Thanks for the content bud.
Lex wanted to stop by and say thanks for the vids that helped me over the years. Although I'm not doing Apartment maintenance anymore, the skills elevated me to become a maintenance director at a healthcare facility. I still go back and reference videos when something major goes down. And it's good to see you still helping the up and coming Tech's. Keep doing your thing man.
For the stove switch when the contact points on those switches or any contact surface gets greater than 50% pitted the resistance will go up across the contact and cause the current flow to go up. Then the arc causes more pitting and it is done. On old contactors for 3 phase motors they used to sell the contacts as they were a servicable item. Great work.
Great video man. QUICK TIP- Next time use the used nitro to blow out condenser coil so when you add charge pressures are more accurate.( instead of waiting for coil to dry after washing it to get accurate readings)
Watching from Jacksonville Florida..I learned so much of your videos, very detailed and funny when you say something about the Infrared Gun 😅 thanks brother!
I like that jst dive in and I did now I get install pretty much everything repair stoves refrigerators toilets sinks it's going on my 4th week I'm loving the journey good luck to everyone who taking that swim 🙏🏾💨💪🏾💯
The compressor is a capacitor start induction run motor. This means it is using the capacitor at the start. There is an internal centrifugal switch that shuts off the start capacitor after it is at least 75% speed. If the voltage and the current are at the same phase angle the motor will not turn. The capacitor shifts the phase angle so the current and voltage are 90 degrees out of phase on the start winding and the rotor will rotate and lock on to the frequency of the Armature. Great job on the brazing and repair. ELI the ICE man. ICE I means current C means capacitance E means voltage I comes before E so Current leads voltage in a capacitive circuit. Good Day.
Great videos! Quick question, on the supply air temp - does that change based return air or outside temp? I saw it was really cold coming out in the low 30’s.
Return air would affect it. Not sure about outside air. If it was 90 degrees in the apartment, the air coming out of vents would be warmer. And the temp gun is just better than my hand. I don't use it for serious measurements.Thank you so much for watching!
I've found with these it's almost always the large burner that goes out because it the most common burner used and if your not sure what burner switch use if you got a bunch in a box in the shop you can look at the wattage on the switch. Keep up the awesome work Lex 👍🏽😎💪🏽💯💯💯💯
Can you make a video for being a first time supervisor ? Or any tips been doing it for 13 years finally gonna be a supervisor. I would appreciate any feed back
Thank you for the video. We have a basic Frigidaire refrigerator. The basement flooded. The compressor won’t come on. The relay and capacitor are good. The fans run. Is there a reset button? Do you think the compressor is bad? Thank you for your time
Yep silfos solder. I only use flux for plumbing soldering on copper. I don't want flux getting into the HVAC system and mixing with refrigerant. My friendship bracelets are lucky. 😆 Thank you so much for watching!
Awesome videos bro. When you did the continuity test on the compressor is that the same as if you did an ohm reading bw C-S-R? Also if you're txv is bad so you ever have 0 superheat or is it just extremely high number?
No, ohm is a separate setting. My meter was set to continuity. With a bad txv you'll usually see high super and high subcool numbers. Thank you so much for watching!
We have glass cooktops on our ranges so typically the entire thing goes out as opposed to a single element. but the switches are nearly the same. Did you test the ohms before you replaced the switch ?

Dayuuuumm 😂
look at the tag on the condenser and see how many pound of refrigerant it takes
Interesting bracelet I saw you wearing at 13:19 & 24:25 in the video
Friendship bracelet 😆. Thank you so much for watching!

The old saying from my bus stop conversations as a middle school student in the 1970's was, "It's colder than a witch's titty in a brass bra."

You should do the whole thing
Thank you so much for watching!
I've actually had a capacitor that was tripping the breaker because it was bad. I've never seen that before.
Thank you so much for watching!

supposed to every time the system is opened up but these coil units only last 3 years so a waist of time

Thank you for the video. We have a basic Frigidaire refrigerator. The basement flooded. The compressor won’t come on. The relay and capacitor are good. The fans run. Is there a reset button? Do you think the compressor is bad? Thank you for your time
Compressor is bad. You can try unplugging it to see if can cool and start back up. If it doesn't, it's bad.
Do the new compressors come with oil in the compressor already. I did not see you add any oil. I assume there is oil in the compressor already.
Yes.
Is that silver solder? Do you use flux? What about staybright 8? Ever use it? I like your bracelets too!
Yep silfos solder. I only use flux for plumbing soldering on copper. I don't want flux getting into the HVAC system and mixing with refrigerant. My friendship bracelets are lucky. 😆 Thank you so much for watching!
Hi lex quick question, how many psi the nitrogen has to be to start welding? Thanks
Very little. It shows on my gauge where it has to be with orange ball. Barely feel it coming out on your hand. Thank you so much for watching!

What happened to the craftsman meter? That thing was a workhorse.
I got it as a backup. Thank you so much for watching!
Yooo! What brand is your heat glove? Where did you get it @LexVance
It's just a regular oven mit my wife used to take hot pans out of the oven. You can get them at Walmart or any grocery store.
@@LexVance lol word thanks bud!

How many super techs give their advice? Nice job!
