I like it when these self publishing gurus talk so seriously about self publishing and what a lucrative business it is, even though self publishing is one of the most unrespected publishing in the world and most of the self publishers are just dreamers who sell one to ten books per year. Probably bought by them or their families.

Why don't you have 5x8 as a book size? It's a very common size. I was going to upload a book but now I can't. Mine is 5x8 and that's how it's listed with my ISBN. There's no changing it.

I want to change the cover and revise a book that i published a while back. so, if I understood correctly, when they put the ISBN # the name of my prior publisher will show up. I am revising the book because I don't like what she did or how she did it. so I don't want her name on it. do I need a new # or can I just remove her name?

The ISBN identifies a specific edition of a published book. So without a new ISBN, the old publisher's edition will always come up. If you intend to publish many books in the future, ISBNS are cheaper by the 10 and significantly cheaper by the 100.
