    Hey Abuga!
    Thanks for the vid, glad you had fun on it!
    It seems like your main concern was the braking power - which can be turned up! The pedal angle can be adjusted giving the brake more force for hills and steeps.(and brake pad gap can be adjusted too, though that has less effect) We've also kept this in mind as we are launching our new completes and kits this spring.
    You also said it's not quite worth the price at 360, we plan to keep this model BrakeBoard under 250 going forward (instead of 350) and have other BrakeBoards as cheap as 140 this spring. The Brake Kit will also always be around ~$150 instead of 250, and we'll have a new style of brake as cheap as $80 this spring.
    As for the board/wheels and stuff, we hear the feedback and have some epic changes coming this spring! Thanks for taking the time!

    Finally a detailed, fair review of this product. Well done, Sir. Another question that will need to be answered is how well the mechanism will hold up over time and if/how it affects the bearings or wheels. Also, do parts of the brake mechanism wear and need to be replaced, analogous to car brake pads?

    • @viberide
      @viberide 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yo! It's ceramic so wears down superrr slow, can replace it but most people usually won't have to during the lifecycle.

    One more thing to add...the board has a very slight amount of resistance cause of the brakes, so it feels "heavy" while pushing, sort of like something is pulling you back

    The brake responsiveness is adjustable, i tightened mine alot in hopes it stopped the pedal from rattling, it didnt but my brake is very strong and i have to feather it to brake gradually, id fly off if i fully stepped on it. Also the spray on grip tipe wears down smooth very quickly

  • @joshstarkey8883
    @joshstarkey8883 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    They should make this system compatible with electric longboard wheels since there's already a bunch of those.
    Seems like they must've limited the braking strength so people wouldn't launch themselves off their boards like wheelbite, or maybe so the brakes don't get super hot and melt wheels or seize bearings.

    geeze awesome review this is exactly what i was lookin for. i wish there was a product that wasnt so integrated into the trucks/wheels. maybe im an idiot but i struggle to see how you couldnt just have a mechanism that applies a mass of rubber or somethin directly to the ground that can be replaced after it wears down.

    Like 10 YEARS ago you could get a black knock-off penny board with a braking system and SO glad I didn't.
    Seems it hasn't changed from here where /when it didn't let you bomb hills safely earlier, slowed progress, increased weight, and got people in dangerous situations they weren't ready for even tripping people trying to brake and corner with the peg catching + less grip.
    Flat boardwalk cruising was okay to look like you didn't need to run of board when starting out I suppose.

    Thanks for reviewing this, I've seen a lot of arguments about the Viberide. I wonder if the braking has to be gradual because if it stopped very quickly maybe you'd be thrown forwards off the board?

    • @LongboardingExplained
      @LongboardingExplained  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks for checking it out!
      Yes I think so too, too much braking power and you can be thrown off. But also I think bigger brakes on bigger wheels that you can then gradual dig into board could still work well 🤔
      But certainly not having anything to hold on to limits the braking potential a lot.

    Fair and honest review. Thank you. It has its place and fun, but for true downhill not so much. Going to check written details in description.

    • @viberide
      @viberide 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes - not for extreme downhill and those who slide! We love to go fast and are pro athletes in other sports, so we love thrills. This is the best cruiser board, the ~5% of people who slide and do downhill though are the few people who don't benefit from the brakes!
      We're know that once every everyday cruiser gets to try it, and there are more board styles that everyone can like, a majority of people will choose BrakeBoards

      @viberide 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey dude! The brake power is definitely enough to be practical. Wheels I do understand people want to change, we'll hopefully have a wheel adapter launched on the site soon for off-brand wheels, and our future model will be compatible with other wheels :D

    I am curious: Have you tried riding the long board the other way around, with the brake in front? On bikes the front brake is significantly stronger than the back brake, and I can imagine the same thing happening here.

    Thanks for having a breakdown of a questionable product with even more questionable marketing!
    It was never intended for more serious riders, but as you said, people with disabilities or old riders might be a little safer on a board like this.
    And maybe they improve and really get a nice product at some point!

    • @viberide
      @viberide 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hey yea it's definitely not for serious riders, it's for the mass market who just wants to cruise on a board! We've made all the improvements, all our boards starting this spring will have them. Including our new models 👀👀
      If you think videos like our barefoot hill bombs are questionable - just know that they're all 100% real ;)

    Apply same logic with vehicle brakes. If you drive your car downhill and are constantly on the brakes your brakes heat up and become less effective. Common knowledge is front brakes make up for more than half the power and this set up gives you only rear brakes I love mine and understand the limitations.
