Started with Longboard, now i'm into Surfskating. I don't need to push again...nearly. It is the most joyful moving for me this time. And it's so maneuverable.
I have both and I can say: both are great, the use you make of them depends on your purpose. For long rides, I recommend a longboard. For shorter, faster rides to get from A to B, a cruiser would be just fine. That's pretty simple.
I`m trying to find the ultimate trucks for pumping on flat ground, to use on a cruiser and move around town. would you have any sugestions? didn`t seem to find any videos on this specific subject.
I like cruisers because you can still Ollie and stuff on them like a skateboard but they are also way easier to cruise on like a longboard. Also it’s basically built for pumping so it’s easier to get sperd
i ordered longboard since i think it is most similar to snowboard, since i can't snowboard in summer time. when i do snowboarding i don't do tricks or stunts, because i can possibly die. i just enjoy going down the mountain. i think i can enjoy riding this longboard i ordered
I've been finding longboarding to be more difficult than a cruiser with me being a beginner still. It was mainly because the flex in the longboard made me feel not as confident because it's more unstable. The cruiser I was able to get in no time. I'm 6'4" 225 lbs with a size 14 shoe so I think the width in the cruiser help that part of my stability and balance.
True the flex in longboards makes it difficult for me too ride i find difficult to balance and since cruisers don’t have much flex they are easy to learn
I’m trying to get a cruiser I’m 6’0 exactly and like 150 pounds heavier then you I don’t plan on doing nothing crazy just riding about. Which board did u get and from where/who?
6'3 250 lbs size 12 shoe here I have no idea how you find it comfortable on a board that small hahah , I always feel like I'm balancing on a bowling ball But it if works for you then more power to you bud!
I live in a difficult place for a choice. There's a LOT of mountains and upward hills. Almost everything goes up and down. It's also one of the major centers of the country meaning a lot of people. So I would love just the smooth travel with the long board, but the cruiser's maneuverability and portability would make it much more convenient and useful in the city. Also the longboard's size might be an inconvenience and loosing control over. If the longboard is faster and stable then that's great. Problem is again, lots of ups and downs. So I wouldn't want to go 50 mph and crash. There is a lot of flat and open fields as well like you show. But then I go into the open forest area, which also has a lot of ups and own hills and lots of mountains. Except much more curved.
I started on a cruiser. Shitty little kryptonics penny board. After a bit of work, it's pretty nice. I found a land yatch at goodwill for $4. Absolutely love it. Person before me had a death wish. I went down a small hill and got such bad speed wobbles. Tightend them up and it's a great board now
Watching American/Canadian skaters talk about their "disgusting" weather is always amusing. Man, you guys need to come to the UK to experience true constant shitty weather :P Always windy, raining and cold. We literally get 3-5 months of decent skating weather per year sometimes.
Man you guys are making me not want to visit as much! I want to head that way bad! But yes I am aware of the European weather situation 😂 cheers to you guys. Hope it is bearable
@@crafty4722 I was feeling the same, but I just spent a couple of weeks in Cabo Verde in Africa and now it doesn't seem so bad compared to the 26-30c I had there lol. Then again, at least they had the wind to cool you down.
I own both but my longboard's an electric longboard. Honsetly, the electric is what I go for but my partner loves the cruiser 29". Supposedly, I bought the cruiser for myself for learning tricks and the longboard for her cuz she's a total newbie, just started skating this year and we rarely go out to do it, but she loves my cruiser and prefers it than the more stable longboard. I've been riding for years not that often too but I was the one who taught her how to ride, and yet she outshines me in this department. For me I prefer longboard, but both are great. I'm 5'4 and my partner is 4'11. Boards I own is the P.O.P. Olive cruiser 29" and the Black Hawk electric skateboard (longboard not sure what inch cuz it was passed to us from a friend).
Great video! Very informative, thanks :D I know what I'm gonna get now. (And for the record, subjective was right. If it's objective, it's inherent to the object being talked about, if it's subjective, it's inherent to the subject being affected)
I started riding about 6 months ago and I only have experience with longboards and I’m just trying to decide if I should get a cruiser or just get another longboard
If you're taller or heavier the longer board is better for you also when you lean into your curves with weight you get a lot of power if you want more responsiveness I recommend a deck with at least a few bamboo layers
Depends how far you want to go and how bumpy the ride is. If you ride far and have more bumps I would go with the longboard. But cruisers are still super dope for those shorter rides and if you making a lot of sharp turns.
I live in NY and a newbie just bought a longboard. Coming in the mail soon. Theres allot of cracks and bumps typical ny. Hope i made the right choice 😅
I just grabbed an ATV cruiser from landyachtz & im a total beginner - if you see this & respond to me ill report back! But def have seen beginners preferring cruisers elsewhere
from a few videos previous to this one, I had mentioned the company who had sent me it. If you want to buy one, you can go to the link in that video and get it there, glad you found the channel btw!
sand paper, start high grit, maybe 100, to get a nice finish, progressively get up to 400-600 grit. then pain or whatever you're gunna do, then for best results spray a clear varnish or waterproof coating of some sort over it.
Really didn’t say much of anything throughout except that being in this situation is very opinionated. Perhaps settling on some sort of conclusion could be helpful in future. Just my opinion of course
as someone who loves skating, Always go for cruisers because they're ACTUAL SKATEBOARDS (80s Design) Longboards just shouldnt be placed in the same category. The only thing you can do on a longboard is just move around. Always go for Old School boards like cruisers 100% all the way
So my son is 13 and learning the skateboard but told me he wants a long board instead. Can u do a video of riding one and than the other one so we can se the difference is the 2 of them please
Haha. Appreciate your support @artman and @adrian; thanks for checking out the video: sorry it wasn’t better for you, feel free to leave some constructive criticism though so the next ones can better

What if you changed the wheels on a cruiser to wider more stable ones?
And for downhill?
Gonna get them both myself, some day, also.👍

greetings from Cuba🇨🇺❤️ I love skating
If you can Ollie it makes a lot more sense to get a cruiser
for sure. also they're just easier to travel around with
I started riding about 6 months ago and I only have experience with longboards and I’m just trying to decide if I should get a cruiser or just get another longboard
try the cruiser! if you want to have options!

If you're taller or heavier the longer board is better for you also when you lean into your curves with weight you get a lot of power if you want more responsiveness I recommend a deck with at least a few bamboo layers
I wanna get a bored that will go downhill easily, go over cracks/bumps, and have a smooth ride. But idk what that would be
Take wheels into account as well, the wider the more smoothly it will ride
@@Geeesty noted!
you described a longboard
haha
Get longboard with a wider deck
the longboard you show also helps with speed wobbles compared to the cruiser.
Would a popsycle board with longboard wheels ride the same as a cruiser or a longboard?
Can anyone please tell me is 40” long board better for downhill or a 28” cruiser is better !!!
I’m wanting to ride a board with my friends around my town and down the sidewalks at the beach, I was thinking longboard. Thoughts?
Depends how far you want to go and how bumpy the ride is. If you ride far and have more bumps I would go with the longboard. But cruisers are still super dope for those shorter rides and if you making a lot of sharp turns.
If you can do tricks than I'd get the cruiser, I have both and I use my cruiser way more as I can easily ride to school in the mornings
It's called Cruiser or Penny? Because I'm newbie in here
this was a cruiser. penny boards are a brand that makes plastic boards
I live in NY and a newbie just bought a longboard. Coming in the mail soon. Theres allot of cracks and bumps typical ny. Hope i made the right choice 😅
hey im also in new york how was it should i get a cruiser?

very thanks i enormously learned with you 😁😁😁
Happy to hear that!
I got like a 20 dollar penny board and ofc it broke after sometime and I recently got a penny longboard and I do gotta say… Ima miss the penny
go get an eggboard! not a bad ride and more comfrtable too. You can buy one here: eggboards.com/?ref=xr0l70rsdw
does the cruiser are suitable for street and high speed on street ? like the longboard its same or what ?
yeah its good for high speed
Can cruiserboard wheels go over rocks and pebbles cause I have a skateboard and I know from experience that skateboard wheels cannot.
as long as the wheels are soft enough. thats what lets a longboard ride over them sooth.
do ya think beginners can do cruisers with practice??
For sure. It’s all whatever you’re willing to practice
@@tpalmer alright, thanks!
The real question is... what's recommended for a newbie
10 months and still no one answered you
Bruv, I'm looking at a solid 365.
longboard. i'm literally thinking of getting one to start skating lol

Yo those jeans are sick, where did you get them?
And thanks for the video, very helpful!
oh shit idk. this was years ago. I wanna say pac sun. could be wrong
For practical purposes, a cruiser.
I'm an artist and I wanna remove the picture on the back of my board. How do I remove it?
sand paper, start high grit, maybe 100, to get a nice finish, progressively get up to 400-600 grit. then pain or whatever you're gunna do, then for best results spray a clear varnish or waterproof coating of some sort over it.
If your a "artist" you wouldn't be asking this question matey.
thanks dude

Actually made a slightly similar video today
1:30 hostia killed me
Which one requires less effort while pushing?
That's what I want to know
usually a longboard (a good one, meaning good bearings wheels truckts etc.) will be an easier ride, but you woulld be limited to functionality

Tell him to ride what he's given or get a job
Buy both, I own both.
I have a surfskate and have rid it for a month an do you have a thought about what would be a good second board?
I’d say look in to landyachtz boards or something similar
Past participle of “to ride” is “RIDDEN”.
You “have ridden it for a month.

Thanks 😊
You're welcome dawg
Hi great vid 😊
Also im 6"3 with 48 European ft size , what kind of board should i take ?
Im from europe too, but im not an expert. With a feet size that big i would reccomand a longboard but tou have to choose
