    Yes! This sounds perfect for beginners. The absolute biggest fear we have is going too fast downhill and losing control.

      Honestly not a good idea, putting pressure on your back truck is the exact reason speed wobbles occur. I mean you can use it without getting wobbles but for beginners it’s not a good habit to build

    So mine came in. Something I didn't expect was how loud it was. Would think this cruiser would be quiet, was worried for a sec til I really inspected it. It's the pedal. The pedal regardless of how tight you make the brakes. The pedal it self does not sit snug so when riding, it was room to wobble to the sides, the pedal picks up all the vibration and so it rattles loudly. I can probably just place something in the extra space it has to prevent wobbling of the pedal and in case that gets in the way of the pressing down motion, making the brakes tighter and more responsive will help. Also glad to know there is no accidentally touching the pedal to brake as there is plenty of room on the board but that plays in not having the brake in reach commonly, you will have to adjust your back foot backwards till your sure you can reach the pedal with your heel at least, which can create speed wobbles at higher speeds. The pedal extension in the shop isnt a bad idea or you can just learn better foot placement. The deck itself is a bit more stiff than I like. The shape mine was in was more convex as well. I hope further use will wear down the stiffness. Front and back trucks came already loose, please tighten and inspect before riding, might have crazy wobbles if you just went for it out the box. Carving did feel a little weird but that could be me. Feel like breaking the board in with use and experience will yield better results. Aside from that, rides smooth, the pedal itself responds to all vibrations and wiggles loudly as it isnt snug and stiff regardless of brake tightness. Would like that touched on, slides wedging something in the extra space would help

    I know some people have homemade or prebought "modified" boards that are run with a remote control motor, but I haven't seen one with such a small compact and not remote brake, that's sick!

    What is crazy you can just buy the break system and install it on any board less expensive than an actual board I only use my longboard to be with my kid around since my actual skating day are way behind me I can't push for extended periods anymore my injuries over the years finally reached so no more daredevil for me but cant stop loving the wind on my face when riding will be trying this kit as soon as i can

      I’m happy to be back! Longboard brakes are a super promising development that I think can go really far and have a unique opportunity for growth and deck designs! I hope they keep pushing the deck and components quality with their future boards! (And pls no spray grip tape 😭)

    Great review! Thorough, informative and interesting settings to test the board in. One question though. What did you think about the noise issue? I also have a VibeRide board and one of the main gripes for me - more so than the tail - is the noise issue caused by the all-metal hardware. On the plus side, people on the sidewalk definitely hear you coming, so they jump out of the way much quicker, but my main and pretty much only gripe is that the board is quite a bit noisier compared with regular longboards. Small price to pay for the convenience of having a break though.

    I’ve been curious about this board since I started seeing ads for it. Does it allow for use with other wheels? And if so, do they have to be the same diameter as the original ones for the brakes to work?

    • @NerdEmoji1067
      @NerdEmoji1067 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ik this is a little late but yes and no. The back truck and wheels have to be the same but the front can be whatever you want. VibeRide has said they are working on finding a way to customize the wheels though.

  • @SO-ym3zs
    @SO-ym3zs ปีที่แล้ว +4

    A couple questions: does the modified rear truck/brake add much weight? And do the brakes wear down the wheels or bearings as they press on them repeatedly? Either way, a cool idea that might be the wave of the future.

    • @OgdenSikel
      @OgdenSikel  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't notice any added weight, so however much more there is, it isn't noticeable. I will do some testing with the brakes and if they cause wear!

    Might be a stupid question, but why not ride it the other way around? Witht the brake at the nose side

    • @OgdenSikel
      @OgdenSikel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You definitely can! But the two things that I noticed with that were that you have to shift your weight the opposite direction when braking to compensate for the stopping motion, and also moving your front foot upwards at high speeds can be a little more dangerous than your back foot. The front foot provides the most stability so it could cause speed wobbles at high speeds

    HI I live in England ..been following you since learning longboard and found the lessons brilliant .thank you. I'd love one of these brake things as braking has always been the thing that stops me enjoying fully riding in town. Can I buy the trucks and put them on my loaded boards , Samma, Icarus , Poke ? Where can I buy the trucks thank you ? Mitch

    • @OgdenSikel
      @OgdenSikel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Link to their website is in the description, and yes you can just but the trucks! They 100% will work with drop through longboards, but I am uncertain if they work with other types of decks...I'll do some testing on that!

      @mitchkennington324 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for taking the time to reply. I'll buy one for my drop through.
      A couple of things might make you smile. I've got about 8 boards or so..poss too many ! Ha ! Loaded , Landyaught Arber Carver. But the Loaded drop through and the Dinghy were bought on your enthusiasm for them....brilliant boards ! Also I can ride ok now , along the sea fronts where I live, and can pump and carve confidently. With my surfskate I can skate almost indefinitely without foot pushing.
      But a few times at the beginning I wanted to give up as I thought I couldn't do it, or it may be thought silly at my age ! But your videos kept me going. I've even been showing other newbies tips and the other day someone said they saw me riding along the sea front and thought I had an electric board ! I dont. This long ramble is just so I can also add ...I love Longboarding ...for the exercise and the way it relaxes me like therapy from my busy work in health and social care....and lastly ....I started learning 3 years ago in my 50s ! Thanks again for the videos !

    Hey, i have a cruiser board and i was wondering if I get a soft truck riser will it make the ride more comfy? I ride sidewalks here in Argentina that are not the best for skating but i manage to ride
    I use 78A 70MM wheels but maybe a small riser with no angle could make it better. I don't have problems with my wheels touching the deck

      @@OgdenSikel Your very welcome! I was just curious because if you had to put a lot of weight down then it wouldn't be good for anything downhill/high speed since speed wobbles tend to happen from to much weight on the back end of the board :)

    • @OgdenSikel
