    Correct me if I am wrong 🤔
    File size comparison:
    GoPro - 13.51 👉 for 39 items
    iPhone - 4.47 👉 for 24 items
    So obviously GoPro will have more space since it has more data. 😅

    One advantage the GoPro has over the iPhone for me is the fact that the GoPro uses a memory card, which makes it a lot easier to download on my computer. I have used an iPhone 12 Pro Max over the past several months along with an older Go Pro. iPhone sometimes overexposes in bright sunlight, has ghosting/glare/moving lights in some nighttime situations, and telephoto is grainy, but does film some sharp video. Just bought the GoPro 10 which I will be testing out tomorrow. Looking forward to using the stabilizer. In your comparison, I thought the GoPro footage was on the left because it was a little sharper and the colors were a little more vibrant, but I was wrong. Even with both of these cameras that film in 4K 60fps, I'm still going to also buy a new camcorder because I really miss the great telephoto lens that a camcorder provides. Between all three cameras, I should be covered!

    I use my GoPro 95-98% of the time. I shoot hiking and outdoor videos and the GoPro gives me what I want, durability, ease of use, and cost.
    I was hiking a few weeks ago and took a header. Had it not been Winter, my iPhone would have been smashed as it went flying but my GoPro was fine. I often put my GoPro in a stream or under a waterfall, you can't do that with a smart phone. One of my newest favorite shots is an under water shot which you can only get with a GoPro.

    I love shooting on a separate camera, and currently own an iPhone 8 and goPro 8. More that likely I will be upgrading my phone this year and seeing this post makes me just want to buy a speced out iphone. The blurry background, macro mode, battery life, and the Apple Watch monitoring makes the iPhone the more logically choice for me. I was also surprised on the difference of the low light test. I liked the GoPro sound test when you were still, I also love the stability of GoPro. I was also surprised of the file size. Question, what is the video size comparison with the iphone Pro Res VS the GoPro? GoPro will have to step up some features to make consumers spend the extra money for an “action” camera. I prefer shooting on a separate camera, but I don’t have the extra money to burn. Great post and thanks for doing this.

    The selling point for me is the front camera so I can see if the camera is still recording. And the good thing that works for is that when I am filming on a car and doing work on the car is so easy to just turn around and see if it’s still filming. And the go pro is so small I can take it under the car easier the the iPhone. That’s the reason I chose the go pro.

    Great review; thanks so much for all of the info you relayed so quickly/concisely!! I much prefer lots of info packed into a short time (as this is) rather than a long drawn out video where the info is coming in so slow. 😄 I was debating whether to get a Go-Pro for some backpacking/hiking trips, but considering it will suck up more weight/battery life/charging (and $$$) and isn't necessary with the iPhones we have, I'll wait until we're going to do some underwater adventures to buy one. This is exactly what I needed to see to make that decision. :)

    2.While exporting videos after editing which fps & what bit riate we shoud select to upload to youtube?
    Because I am loosing the quality of the video once i uploaded the videos to youtube all the time. Thanks in advance.

      I have both, GoPro Hero 10 is an Action Camera, if you are not moving very much then stick with the iphone. GoPro is much better when then camera is moving alot, say Mountain biking or even hiking. GoPro has much more versatility as far as mounts. iPhone is pretty amazing otherwise, it takes very good photos and videos. I was a skeptic before the iPhone 13, now it is the video camera we use the most.

    The HDR on the iPhone is a bit unpredictable and when it doesn't work well it really shows. The GoPro will give predictable results and has more detail. Set the exposure compensation at -0.5 and the white balance 500 K lower than you usually would and you never get an unusable shot, provided there is enough light for it.
    I have both and learned the hard way not to use the iPhone.

    The iPhone footage looks great, however the video distortion when moving the ultra wide lens (6:49-6:51) is unbearable. The higher bitrate of the Gopro seems to pay off.

  • @djdante
    @djdante 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good review - I think you missed a trick by not seeing if you could recover teh shadow detail in the gopro - the bitrate and large file sizes suggest you could recover shadow detail quite well - And perhaps the dynamic range is there more than you think... Nobody is using gopro without a video editing suite anyway (well barely anyone). When I take professional footage with my regular cameras, the footage out of the camera does not look so pretty either.

    • @FloriTravels
      @FloriTravels 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely, and he didn´t mention the unbearable warping of the iPhone´s ultrawide angle (6:49-6:51), which i suppose is due to low bitrate and resulting lower file size. You may correct me if i am wrong in my assesment: warping=due to lower bitrate=smaller filesize

    the gopro has a lot of bugs even with the upgrade and just over a hour of battery then overheating. i have a 7 - 9 and 10 and the same problems with all of them so reliability isnt a plus and when i go out somewhere i feel like i need 2 cameras. i just ordered a iphone 13pro and have a se and did some test videos with the se and was pleased at the good 1080 60 video and with my smugmug account that only allows 3gb 20 minute videos i can easily do a 20 minute clip and stay under the 3gb so yesterday i took my se out with my new DJI gimbal with the temp around 90 degrees and it overheated quicker then my gopro would have so i ended up going to the truck and grabbing my gopro to finish the shoot. before ordering the new 13pro i scoured the net looking for iphone overheating issues and could not find any and with the longer lasting battery i thought this might be the fix for what i do. if you place a gopro on a table and start recording video it will usually overheat before the battery dies. that makes me wonder why they only come in black as on a hot day and the baking sun it wont be long and it will shut down. i have accessories like the media mod and the digipower and both are also dark. attaching my digipower under the front of my truck and going for a long drive there is no overheating issue but you still need to stop once in awhile to see if the gopro just decided to stop recording. so far the accessories for the gopro will make overheating worse and there dont seem to be accessories that will promote cooling. so the bottom line is are you aware of overheating issues with iphone and what fixes might be available?

    While I think the iPhone does a better job and it’s always with me, I still have to choose the GoPro. The primary reason simply being the durability of it. I can hand it to my kids, I can mount it just about anywhere, I could throw it off a cliff and it would survive. My phone I have to use for life and I can’t have it getting destroyed.
