  • ATTENTION: Please note the pinned comment by viewer 'Johnathan Hendriquez'. He makes an excellent point for how to test if the solenoids are working or not. NO NEED to lift the front axle. Simply move the Super-Select lever (still with engine running for vacuum) between 2wd and 4x4, then try to turn the front drive shaft. If it turns, your solenoids are disconnecting the front axles and you are in 2wd selection. If you can not turn the front drive shaft, your solenoids have released and allowed 4x4 engagement. Thanks Mr. Hendriquez VERY much for this time and hassle saving observation!
    The steel tubes start a flat-4 formation. As they drop down below the chassis, the collect into a box-4 formation and become difficult to follow. However, in the video I try my best to explain as precisely as possible where the tubes run and what their functions are. Hope this helps! Happy Mitsubishing!

    An easiest way to perform that test to ensure that your front wheels are not locked without raise the truck it's just turning the front drive shaft, if it's free you are ok...

      Yeah. On mine, I just had to change the connectors. The solenoids were still good. ;-)

    Excellent video, such a good insight on the superselect system. Thank you so much, it came really handy as I have the same issue with the blinking lights on the pannel

      VERY glad it was of some assistance! If all else fails...simply installed locking hubs and never worried about it again. Furthermore, this will extend the life of your CV joints and reduce fuel consumption in the process.

    Always waiting for the next video , so helpful , thanks.
    I saw a video about someone who replaced the all solenoid thing with a wire that connected from the actuator on the front dif. (After remove the actuator itself) to the dashboard , so when you pull off the wire you pull out the pin on the front dif. making it locked.

    • @khangarkarrar7800
      @khangarkarrar7800 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On another hand , can you make a video about the wheel lock sensor , it's the sensor that attaches above the actuator , so when the actuator pin pulled out it trigger the sensor to on , and a Wheel Lock indicator flash on on your dashboard .
      Keep it up

    • @offgridislandfamily
      @offgridislandfamily  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hehehe! Yes...that is another solution. I prefer locking hubs. I don't like the idea of the front axles being needlessly forced into rotating. Thanks much for your commenting again! ;-)

    As someone who's bought a Delica with the 4m40 engine (I think the engine and running gear is basically Pajero?) I'm so happy I found your channel! I can now binge and do some homework thanks to you. Cheers! Sub'd , Like'd and all that good stuff.

      Thank you SO MUCH for sharing and very glad my videos provide value to you! Right...this is what's funny. The guys in the Delica groups would get angry with me for posting 'How to' videos in their groups as mine is a Pajero. But they are almost exactly the same machines...just different packaging / body. Thanks much also for the patronage!

    • @offgridislandfamily
      @offgridislandfamily  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there...yeah. I should have. I didn't really expect to do anything performance-wise, but just got caught up in it. I really wish I had weighed the Pajero when I first got it also. Difficult to find a dino here in Bohol, but I would guess I've added a good chunk of HP. There is NO comparison to what it was before. If I can find a dino, you can be 100% sure that will become a video post! ;-)

      Yes Sir, they are 3.5cm, which I haven't heard anyone finding, so most people--myself included--use 3cm, as 4cm isn't tight enough. Thanks for the question.

    Hi magandang gabi! Do you have to have a FB account? Id love to ask some questions regarding this 4x4 blinking issue on my Pajero. Drives me nuts!

    • @offgridislandfamily
      @offgridislandfamily  ปีที่แล้ว

      William Lumbergh on FB. But, the reason is your vacuum system. You most likely have a vacuum leak in one or more of the many vacuum lines (tubes). Replace all your tubes with silicone and if that doesn't help, just install manual locking hubs on the front axle and pull the dash bulbs out.
