Wow. During the 70's and 80's I hitchhiked the length and breadth of the country. The only time I ever had a lift from the Police was to get me off a dual-carriageway I had wandered onto. It used to be a great way to travel though, back then. Taking advantage by wearing my Army kit made sure I hardly waited more than ten minutes anywhere. In uniform, I'd get lifts and sandwiches and tea, offers of daughters' hand in marriage, requests to come round and 'sort out' a lazy boyfriend, lol and thanks. Lots of thanks. I don't think squaddies are even allowed to wear their uniform out in public when not at work nowadays. I remember the forbidding of the wearing of uniforms in public when off-duty, back in the seventies. It was the threat of active IRA cells on the mainland that put paid to it. I remember I saw it as a small, but nonetheless significant loss of freedom in the fight against terrorism. Besides, I had to start buying train tickets because the same threat made people not want to give lifts as much.
The initial ineration with the Police was brilliant ... Officer 1, brilliant. Constable 2 soured it for me. He was asking the correct questions, which is fair enough. Completely ignored that PJ has a pilots license ... a bit more complicated than flying a drone.

It's over in the UK. Just the sight of a drone will summon a police response a crowed gathers and require you to explain your actions. Harassment after harassment, until the get you on an infraction or you get the hint. Commercial and government want that airspace.
Next time I get burgled, when I call the police im going to say "hi I'm flying my drone to try and catch a burgler" rather than "hi the burgled is in my house", who knows they might actually turn up quicker than 3 days later with a crime ref number lol
I've looked at the exam to fly outside VLOS (BVLOS) and it's £10K and takes 4 weeks by Flyby in Leicestershire. You do however get a Pilot Uniform, Wings and Stripes.
I envy PJ's ability to seem to be able to set most people at ease and get them talking. A real talent mate. A genuinely nice bloke obviously. Anyone who does not get along with PJ instantly makes me suspicious.
They should tell the police NOT to respond to these calls where people are acting totally lawfully and switchboard operators should be trained to advice people that he is acting lawfully and they won't be responding to a NON CRIMINAL matter and wasting police time and taxpayers money when they could use this time productively and investigate crimes instead of the easy option of giving a crime number and telling you to claim on your insurance.
Exactly. We used to have an obnoxious neighbour who would phone the police for 6 year olds playing on the green area in our cul de sac. They knew him and what he was like yet they still came out every time he called them. All the parents used to sit back and laugh.
Lots of criticism for the Police here but I thought their interaction was fine. Professional and knowledgeable of the drone laws. A lot better than most of them.

I knew this would happen. Drone police rock up and turn it into an exam. I'm also a bit disappointed in PJ for playing along with them. When he said, "Well, you could have taken my word for it." They both had other things to ask about the Operator's ID and his other details, making it clear that they don't trust his word one bit. In my opinion, they had no right to demand any details, and PJ really shouldn't have offered them. Allowing them that inch immediately led to them trying to take a mile. @19:10 I have seen this copper before. He's appeared in another auditor's video. There were two auditors and he was trying to do exactly the same type of interrogation as this. Questioning him about hazards? Wanting to see the Operators and the Pilots ID? The bloke is stepping way out of his jurisdiction. The pretence of 'just having a chat' is quite insulting when they so blatantly are doing no such thing.
Not really plods job to question you on your drone knowledge. He's there to uphold the law. not to act like an instructor or examiner...typical of an ego tyrant

I know many Plods would rather spend time speaking to a law abiding member of the public with no aggravation than investigate a real crime involving a real hard-nut criminal - it’s human nature. The invasive probing questions just serve to maintain a thin fabrication of an authentic engagement but its just a easy, hassled-free job to them.
Well done Pete, you have a great attitude towards Police who are doing their jobs correctly. They are just establishing that you are not going to pose a threat or commit a crime. Once the position is established then the Police will leave you alone.

Honestly mate i love your channel, ive had people moan galore to me about my drone and what i can and cannot do with it, the amount of times you have to explain the drone class is fine for what im doing and im all legit above board but still they see their backsides i really wish the people and companys of this country educated themselves correctly! haha keep it up mate!
People used to be frightened and thought you would die going faster than 30 mph.
They will have to get used to drones.
17 Bay's Well done Pete; Great interaction with the police, who clearly had actual knowledge and experience of drones and their flight rules. In the end, both parties (not sides, there was no animosity) must have left with respect for the other's professionalism and sensibility.
It's over in the UK. Just the sight of a drone will summon a police response a crowed gathers and require you to explain your actions. Harassment after harassment, until the get you on an infraction or you get the hint. Commercial and government want that airspace.
Nice one Pete. A civilised encounter with the plods.
Just brilliant well done matey thank you so much for your videos your videos. They make my day
Waste of time calling out the plod……the company should be invoiced for wasting police time….but the coppers handled it really well. Good job to them
Next time I get burgled, when I call the police im going to say "hi I'm flying my drone to try and catch a burgler" rather than "hi the burgled is in my house", who knows they might actually turn up quicker than 3 days later with a crime ref number lol
I've looked at the exam to fly outside VLOS (BVLOS) and it's £10K and takes 4 weeks by Flyby in Leicestershire.
You do however get a Pilot Uniform, Wings and Stripes.
good cops who know what there talking about respect
Brilliant example of how both sides of the divide CAN come together. .....POLICE ...take note......certain AUDITORS too 🤔
I envy PJ's ability to seem to be able to set most people at ease and get them talking.
A real talent mate.
A genuinely nice bloke obviously. Anyone who does not get along with PJ instantly makes me suspicious.
I try to be nice where I can 😊😊👍👍
Excellent ✔ Great police officers. 🚔
I did some class 1 driving work for NFT in the mid 90's, through an agency. It was easy work on fridges.
Exactly. They don't come out for road traffic accidents.
Thanks PJ another great video very well handled nice officers Shame about the company keep doing what your doing it’s much appreciated 👍
The 'officers' did not have any grounds to inspect the drone or assume that they had any authority to do so.
@@ef7480 correct PJ gave the police hes licence of he’s own free will
Great video PJ! ..... Incidentally, i thought the site manager looks a lot like Aaron from Emmerdale played by the actor Danny Miller! Keep up the good work PJ! xxxx
Your getting rather big bow Pete mate 👍man city jacket man looks like he's never seen a camera before. 😆good job matey I remember the taxi days best driver in town
Seem a nice couple of blokes, makes a nice change.
Awesome chaps those officers. Great video.
Looks like a bloody good canteen there judging by the staff...lol
Lol 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆 🤣
NFT= No family time, according to one of their drivers 👍
Next they'll be attending for people playing tennis, reading the paper or exercising in the park. Anything for an excuse of not catching criminals.
They have already done that during covid.
Spot on cops. Great vid. well done Pete
Handled well and politely by the cops and PJ .
Another brilliant video PJ & great coppers, nice to see.
Not really plods job to question you on your drone knowledge. He's there to uphold the law. not to act like an instructor or examiner...typical of an ego tyrant
PJ you're NOT brain dead mate, not one bit. I could swear while I worked with the Indian High Commission I was in Mumbai, but I was in Australia it turns out. I have memories of both but one particular I swear I was in India but everyone says "No Lee, that was when we worked in Aus". It in involved a romance. I should be able to remember that, she was a fit Indian girl named Salma 🤣 Police officers were excellent, did their job perfectly and held a lot of respect. Loved the handshake, you can tell a lot about someone when it comes to a handshake.
Just to be spiteful ... I would have returned to that company that grasses and continued taking photographs ... and maybe another drone flight
Just to see there faces screw up
Sounds like you've had a bit of the old ' Mandela Effect ' with the Co Op Pete , good vlog , as ever : )
Although the two bobbies were nice and polite one of them tried to give the impression he was in charge of your drone flying and was in charge of legislation when in actual fact you didn't need to talk to him at all and he was in charge of nothing as the CAA are.
Klopp doing a bit of moonlighting 🤣🤣
The police were ok. I liked the one in yellow. Well done PJ, nice video.
Decent coopers who actually are drone operators so know the law and restrictions…….as a Mini 2 owner myself this is nice to see 👍🏻
Good video, good interaction but sometimes I just think they need to ask more questions on the phone before coming out and wasting their time.
Companies should also add some training to their security staff to make them aware of the drone laws / legislation.
hiya PJ super cool video with super nice cop's (for a change) lol.. as they are usually grumpy as hell & think they know all the rules and regulations but it turns out that they don't know alot until they check with someone who does.
so please keep them coming so take care and stay safe ✌️peace ✌️
DJI mini 2, sub
............. PJ! Just as you said "i don't wanna risk it" i thought of the Swiss kit tv advert from back in the 1970's then you suddenly said. "Swiss kit!" GREAT MINDS EH! xxxxxx
That’s how the police should be.
Well done Pete, you have a great attitude towards Police who are doing their jobs correctly. They are just establishing that you are not going to pose a threat or commit a crime. Once the position is established then the Police will leave you alone.
Both of them were top coppers, they havs a job to do, and they did it well today 👍👍
Yes but some police do abuse their powers that's what these auditor videos are all about
To name and shame them
But the police are time wasters.
@@garrettorourke7136 there's no such thing as a good cop
'I dont want to be on youtube. However I will walk up to the camera'. Nob. Also is it a prerequisite for security to be able to waddle whilst on the job?
I believe so.
Both of them!
I was thinking it might be something to do with the lense, lol.
Brilliant videos PJ funny you have parked your car right next to a 'No Parking' sign lol
This is how you act as a human being, not a cocky trouble causer like some people ( Charlie Veitch )
Its nice to see the police talk & not shout the odd's
These drone cops seem to take Pete for an idiot who doesn’t know the drone rules and regs he probably knows more than them.
The gang at work for the corporate’s they make such a big issue of number plates being photographed yet it was ok for the corporate dog to photograph your car. Those very unbalanced scales of justice working for the selective memory syndrome police.
What was up with Uncle Fester in the Man City hoodie? 🤣🤣🤣
So it definitely wasn’t previously the co-op?
They called the filth on you, report them for wasting public resources.
Answering too many questions.
I thought they were fine, they were just curious and wanted to make sure everything was in order.
@@wezftw7130 everything was in order, completely legal activity. So need to show operator I d, not curious, just typical police fishing
@@johnseabrook1703 Asking questions is sort of what the police have to do to determine that no crime has been committed . PJ is sensible as he is on the right side of the law . In my experience ( mostly ) I find that co operating with the police knowing I havent done anything wrong works best all round . They are satisfied and I am on my way much quicker . Only had a problem with an arsehole copper once many years ago and wish I had reported him . Alot of people commenting are just plain anti police .
@@scooby1992 I wonder why so many people are “ anti police “. The last two years have opened many peoples eyes, the way innocent, law abiding people were treated during dodgy lockdown rules extinguished any respect that the police had.
Thick blue line fishing, far too nice to them PJ
i am surprised they didn't moan about your parking. No parking sign on the fence at 24:46
Did I hear a "pilot's licence" being mentioned. Do you have to take a test or something to operate a drone? Can you just transfer straight onto a 747?
Yes take test on toy drone then upgrade to a jumbo
Pj you naughty boy parked infront of a no parking sign 🤣 loving the content mate 👌👌
stop calling them mate, they despise you
True but at least if your polite they cannot twist it any other way when it's on film, this is the bit they despise ...the camera.
wow nice; police officer who knows about the mini 3 already? that model just launched a few week ago....
Hi Pete, Romac used to be NFT, I worked their for many years.
If you need police and want to call 999 you'll get no response good idea tell them there's a man with a camera you'll have 2 car loads of pigs on blues and 2s before you can boil the kettle
Cheers Pete, great video as always, if you ever get down to Essex then give me a shout, I'd love to meet up for a quick chin wag 😊💜✌️
I will do 😊😊
@PJ Audits: like I said to your mate, DJ Audits, I see, in most of your videos; especially, with your "DREAD" drone flights; there's a distinct lack of solar panels for renewal energy; so many open, semi flat roof tops, no Solar Panels.. such a wasted renewal resource opportunity!
Police Drone Opperators, do they get to play with some bigger toys? I watche both Tarrmac vids, a great promotion for the company.
I’ve seen them flying a DJI Matrice, an £11k drone.
Great video pj
Thanks Sandy 👍👍
Your audits are brilliant PJ.
The best auditors bring something unique to the table, and stand out for their own personal reasons and you're defo one of them.
If Auditors and Auditing was a Premier League, you'd be like 3rd... don't be upset that's not bad though lol
AB would be 1st, DJ Audits clear 2nd and right on AB's heels...
You're the one they both need to watch out for though imo.
4th I'd go with PTTP.
just outside the top four I'd say that dude who does the PINAC inspections, he's brilliant but still not top 4 material just yet lol
there's many great auditors but I've named the ones that I like most 🙂
I have the DJI Mavic 2 Pro, DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise, DJI FPV and the DJI M300 - have the mini 3 pro due to arrive shortly. I fly more than the police lol.
Nice 👍👍😊😊
