  • Today we take a look at Sainsbury’s Distribution Centre, Worcester WR4 9FA.
    We remain on what we thought was a public footpath but staff soon approached asking what we was doing.
    Security arrive and the confusion continues.
    Eventually the Manager arrives and we get a private property line to work with.

    This place is renowned for being arsey. I was delivering here a few years back, they unloaded me but I’d been waiting 3 hours for my paperwork. My boys birthday was the next day and I had to get back and was running low on hours on my tachograph, but they wouldn’t let me leave. I parked in front of the exit barrier and blocked the whole site until they let me leave. I got banned from site, but made it back for my boys birthday so was worth it 😊

I cannot fathom how they even managed to retain that licence in the first place,
      On the second half there were 5 additions of candidates, all Nigerian / Asian or whatever with the same lack of ability to communicate in English who were there as they failed the exam first time round.
      I thought that the top up was to weed out those who couldn't meet the criteria, certainly in the case of the door supervisor course.
      This all stems from the Manchester bombings where the security officers on site had no ability to communicate via 2 way radio, or communicate in English, no idea of the venue for fire escape routes etc. etc.

    Nicely done as usual. I’d argue that the double yellow lines are a reasonable indicator of local highways control. The change in colour of the tarmac going one side to the other looks more like a trench had been dug for infrastructure improvements and was nothing to do with demarcation of private/public property. It was more than likely that the corner across from the security box was likely to be the most logical edge of the change to Sainsburys property.

      Yeah, it's amazing how many auditors haven't worked out that constantly shaky, wobbly, constantly moving and panning and zooming camerawork makes for unwatchable footage, sometimes it's literally nauseating (through motion sickness), most auditors would greatly improve their footage by - like you say - learning to hold the camera steady instead of 'hosing the scene'.

      Agreed, it's a lack of filmmaking / videography knowledge, you can have the steadiest hand in the world, but if you are using that hand to swing your camera around it will produce unwatchable footage.
      _"The shaky footage are those people using their phones/cameras without the stabilisation"_
      Even without stabilisation (of any kind) you can still take perfectly good, stable video, it's not a lack of equipment, most of these auditors have the latest 4k super-HDR Samsung / iPhones, mounted on the latest gimbals or rigs (etc etc), it's simply that they don't know the basics of filmmaking / videography, of course no one is expecting high production values or Hollywood level quality, but most of them don't understand the very very basics, they don't understand that most shots are next to useless if the camera is constantly panning back and forth and back and forth and zooming, and then panning while zoomed in, and back out a little, and then swinging around the shot ('hosing the scene') and on and on, constantly moving.

    It was something like from the children's story called Chicken Licken where an acorn falls from the tree and Chicken Licken tells another bird, who tells another and before you know it there are birds hysterically flapping around saying that the sky is going to fall down as the message/situation quickly gets distorted. So the woman rudely approaches you, makes an assumption, escalates the situation and before you know it a cast of a thousand appear, hysteria ensues and things get so unnecessarily out of hand. As for Adam who is 'not going to get into an argument with you', it takes two to have an argument and as DJ is only asking and being calm in general, how can you have a one sided argument? Not their finest hour to showcase their Distribution centre IMO.

      @@yolandakhan I have no clue back when I was reading it to younger children the book was called Chicken Little and it was Henny Penny who had the acorn drop on her head and she ran around calling out the sky is falling. You can look it up. Your generation is probably younger than mine I have grandchildren in their twenties and younger. When looking up the story it is called by a few name's Henny Penny the Sky is Falling, Chicken Licken and Chicken Little.

    Why do staff members feel they need to or have the right to interfere with a member of the public on a public highway. These GDPR security also need better training. They have zero authority on the public in public.

    As you pointed out correctly, the double yellow lines started on the public road, so put down by council, would never go onto “private property”, which the path also followed so you are indeed 100% correct that you were on public property

    • @barrieshepherd7694
      @barrieshepherd7694 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Double Yellow lines do not define property boundaries - landowners can paint them, or extend lines on public adopted roads, to roads on their own land. It would be unusual for a council to adopt a short bit of road, from a main road, across to a gatehouse which, looking at a map, is inside the likely land boundary.
      Given that this argument is almost applicable at every entry to an industrial site perhaps industries should start painting a blue line across the road at the property boundary.

      @ambitiousautos1064 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@barrieshepherd7694 you’re right, they don’t determine property boundaries, but those lines haven’t been extended and the council wouldn’t go onto private land with yellow lines
