The Japanese Auto-5 is far superior to the Belgium made guns! The tolerances and workmanship are spot on! I have Belgium made Auto-5's as well, but love my Japanese made guns even more, after all, they were my "Dream Guns" when I was a young teenager as well! I had an SA-22 years ago. I am so sorry that I traded it years ago! I hope to get another one someday! I would stay away from the copies however, many years ago I purchased one made by Norinco at Walmart for $99.00! It looked great but would not function with any ammunition reliably whatsoever! Walmart would usually never allow a customer to return a firearm directly back to them at their stores, but they had so many problems with the Norinco Copies, they gave me my money back! God Bless... Having just found your channel, I am binge watching your postings. I bought one of these rifles for my dad back in the early 80’s as he was a big fan of them from his childhood, and even had a book of Browning’s firearms that he looked at and dreamed. Pop was a great shot, and would head shoot squirrels with his and he enjoyed it thoroughly. I later got him the Browning hard case for it that stored the gun in its disassembled condition with a few boxes of ammunition. A fun gun, and very lightweight even though it’s all wood and steel.
Again, another great video! Speaking of dad’s old 22. When I was born in 1972, my dad bought brand new, a Winchester 9422M in .22 Magnum. First gun I ever shot, when I was 5 yeas old in our back yard. I remember it well. He passed in 2007, it is my most cherished firearm I own, and will pass it to my son. Weirdly enough, he also had a browning much like yours, it was take down, in .22 Mag. But I swear it was a pump action. I could be wrong. He gave it to my cousin back in the 80’s when we were visiting my mom’s home town in Wyoming. Anyway.. I’m rambling. Thanks for sharing those first shots with us. Aloha 🤙🏽
50 years ago I saw a friends dad pull one of these out of his pickup, I thought it was beautiful, I have wanted one ever since. I just got my dream revolver this may be next.
I have that Rifle in Remington. I have been wrong before however my understanding is that John Browning who did a lot of business with Remington and Winchester sold the patent and rights on that rifle design to Remington with a time restriction on his company and name being able to also manufacture it. Mine is early 1920’ s vintage and is one of the most accurate shooting 22’s I have ever put to my shoulder. Love your vids. Mr Browning used to take the train to I lion NY
Good videos brother! I also like to talk about guns but the way you're doing it, simple no BS and not trying to sell anything, just sharing opinions. I just subscribed 🤘
John Moses Browning has been called “the greatest firearms inventor the world has ever known.” His first patent was granted on 7 October 1879. He is credited with 128 gun patents, and some fifty million sports and military weapons were manufactured from those patents during the forty-seven years he was an active inventor.
Thanks for taking us along on your trip down Memory Lane. That is a beautiful and graceful little rifle. Looking forward to the 10/22 and stories about your Dad.
I think that patent was 1914. I have seen that model made by Browning in Belgium and Japan. Ive also seen an American made Remington too. And also Norinco in China.

Very elegant gun.
Neat rifle. The first rifle I ever shot was one of those.

Nice gun! I just picked up a 1956 Belgium sa22

In June 1970 I bought one in a sporting goods store-Albany, NY. $91.00! But that was a lot back then.
Act more, talk less Sir.
