They call me a Fudd too. I have a Stoeger double barrel 12 gauge by the bed five extra rounds on the stock my model, 19, 357 Carry comp. Still have my original model 19’s. 4 inch and 2 1/2 inch from when I was a Leo. I still take them out to shoot once in a while. Stay safe sheriff. By the way, 67 years old this May.

"Don't overlook used guns"... Especially cool ones. Thanks for the video Sheriff.

Old school vintage I like it 🇺🇸

Love the old guns! Great idea's for a project.

Your "new" shotgun takes me back to 1964 and my first LEO job, Border Patrol in Presidio, Tx. The station had two of those shot guns with I think 20" barrels. The thing I most remember about them was they kicked like mules. I am an 81 year old Fudd and still can shoot everything.

The older I get the more fuddish I get lol.

For home defense nothing beats a shotgun period . And no one will convince me otherwise .

  • @mikereinhardt4807

I might have purchased a second barrel and cut it down if possible. Keeping the original barrel for rabits on occasion, but that's just me. From one Fudd to another, 'Great video, really enjoyed it"...

Since I retired to Prescott in 2021 I have been able to find a nice Winchester 97 made in 1953, the year I was born, and a very nice model 12 made in 1958. Definitely want to find a model 11 and do the Sheriff Matt treatment to it!

  • @frankhinkle5772

Sheriff, that is one beautiful old shotgun, and no matter how old it is and how out of date it is in comparison to palomar and aluminum, you shoot it well! Don't get too engrossed by the gun, it's the man behind it.

  • @Rustebadge

America's first semi-auto shotgun (John M. Browning of course). Have one myself and its great. For all of the "fan boys" the sheriff is talking about, the fight is in me, not the gun. I learned more from a recent instructor-level book than from any in-person class I have taken. "Beyond the Muzzle": The Firearms Instructor & Shooter Development Guide". Written by a retired police instructor for all instructors and defense shooters. Really leans into the law enforcement fight. A google search will find a hard copy with color graphics instead of the funky digital type.

    Welcome to the club Elmer!👍🏽😀❤️🇺🇸

  • @AA-gj3kt

I have one that I've been thinking about working over a little. It's in excellent shape and was made in 1916. That keeps me pumping the brakes.

  • @user-qg9fj4yj9g

Really cool modification on a really cool gun, I prefer a shotgun myself paired with a Glock, very versatile as you well know, thanks for posting Sherif 👍💪🇺🇸

  • @ronaldrobertson2332

I bought myself a Mossberg 500 marked with "Coast to Coast" on the side of the receiver. It had a 30-inch barrel on it, so I cut it down to 20 inches. I think it's forty years old, at least.

  • @phillipdewitt4454

I once owned a 870 with 18 inch barrel and rifled sights. It was deadly at 100 yards .

  • @gurugolf7438

I have the same gun but a 28" barrel. I used it to duck hunt 50 years ago. I was my grandfather's.

  • @skiphinson8620

    Fantastic find on that shotgun.

  • @jjeff1547

Hey Sheriff.. I inherited a model 11 from my uncle.. I deer hunted with it several years.. love the gun. Last year completely stripped the walnut stock, repaired some old and refinished… got the original Browning bluing from Arts Gun Shop in Missouri and finishing the bluing here soon… have the deer sights and tube extender so it holds 8 and 1 in the chamber…!

  • @1boortzfan

Great video Sheriff. Those Remington number 11s are great guns. If you ever get a chance to pick up a book called "The Cigar City Mafia" it tells about Mafia life in Tampa, Fla. They didn't use tommy guns like the guys in Chicago. The #11 in your condition was the gun of choice. I think the guys down here had a better grasp of evidence left behind. Keep up the good work.
