    I've owned both Browning and Beretta O/U's and I prefer the Brownings. Rock solid and utterly dependable with enough options to keep the lineup interesting. Thank you for a great video. Cheers

    Bought a new 2023 525g3 12 bore to complement my 525 20 bore. Put 1000 shells through it already and has performed flawlessly. Shot Berettas and Blaser f16 before coming back to Browning and just feels right. Roll on growing old together.

    My 325 20 bore is IM over IC. Use it for all clay sports...amazing Browning.
    My 525 20 bore/28 bore barrel set is a surprise. 20 bore is Inventor choked and the 28 is Inventor plus. All numbers match, so I was surprised. Not a Browning expert such as yourself.
    Thanks for these great videos. 🇨🇦🇬🇧

    Love the 525. Borrowed a tubed one from my coach to learn the weight difference with and without tubes. It was a sweet gun. It was old and repaired multiple times, but it just loved breaking clays.

    I have two 525's 32" 12 and a 30" 20. One thing to watch for is the screw that retains the ejector side plates. When they come off the ejectors go flying. As already noted firing pins, I replace mine annually.

    The Browning Citori in all its different variations are notorious for bottom firing pin issues. Had mine for 4000rds and already replaced the bottom firing pin.

    Been waiting 50 years to own a Superposed (they have soul unlike the Citori 😉) and finally got a steal on a near mint trap special, amazing firearm with a horribly cheap feeling selector/safety. Not an issue for what I paid but they’d have to do something about it before I buy the 20ga Autumn I’m lusting after but isn’t available to us Yankees. No idea who’s running Brownings marketing but oh well, I’m certain Guerini or Rizzini will gladly take my money 🤷🏽‍♂️ As always, wonderful video 👍🏼👍🏼

    I had a Citori 425 Sporting that was an absolute joy to shoot on any clays field, when the 525 came out I really couldn't.justify buying one since there wasn't that much that had changed. I'm curious as to whether or not the 425 was released in the UK and Europe ? I rarely see much about them. Great video thank you for presenting it.

    You forgot to mention one thing: the bottom firing pin tends to wear out quickly on Citori/*25. Of course, it can be changed, but my 725 with maybe 5000shots on the bottom barrel shows wear on the firing pin. On an old 425 we picked up a while back, we ended up changing the firing pins&springs. The bottom pin showed significant wear. That old thing is still working. 1200$CAD for a 425 was a steal.

    • @MR12GAUGE
      @MR12GAUGE 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can usually get 20,000 out of a standard pin, 30 pounds running cost at 200 shells a week for 2 years- hard to beat that

  • @bruceyeoward6544
    @bruceyeoward6544 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I read somewhere there have been approx 4M guns of this design made by Browning/Miroku.
    If they weren't made in such volumes the price would much higher.
    Can't be beaten for value & quality.

    Hi John, I have recently bought a Browning Citori and I found your video very interesting. I am trying to find out the model and also the date of manufacture, but I keep drawing a blank when searching the Internet, even on the Browning sites, do you know where I can get this information for the age and model of my gun? Thanks in advance Mark.

    • @tgsoutdoors

      Age is done from the letters in the serial number, if you search ‘how old is my browning’ the date codes always come up

    • @EmsillCazm

      @ Thank you. I have just checked it. The serial number is NP which makes it 1998.

    Why is the bottom firing pin not as powerful as the top.

    • @herpderpinson6117
      @herpderpinson6117 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Because of the location of the pivot point on the hammer. At 16:00 you can see the circular cutout for the back of the top firing pin that lines up with the outside of the hammer, meanwhile at 23:47 you can see the bottom firing pin protruding from its hole and lining up with the middle of the hammer, which isn’t traveling nearly as fast as the outside.

    Can someone please explain why I love John Browning so much... But I absolutely hate Browning company?
    Is it because they're so big? Is it because they don't make anything in America? Is it because I'm just naturally a difficult person who can't get on board for things?
    Yeah probably. I'm a bit of an ass.

      @@stephb1514 They just desperately need to start making some things in America. I think their rifles need to come back to America. I don't know how it is where you live, but I don't know anybody with a browning rifle. I know people who have had them years ago. But I don't know anyone who's even considering buying one. Do I think they're bad, I don't know. You know when the last time I shot one was... I don't know. I don't know anyone who has one. Anyone who's considering one. I know people with their shotguns, I think like half of the hunters I know have the old humpback. But I don't know anybody with a rifle. And I think just bringing it back in production here would go a long way. I know that Winchester is kind of their arm of that now, But there's problems with Winchester. Supposedly, Winchester is going to produce a few lever actions in America now, because apparently we build better lever actions than the Japanese. Which kind of makes sense.

    I bought a brand new Citori , 2023. It is back to Browning for the second time now. Still waiting. So far, it is a useless brick. They sent it back the first time, said “fixed”. My gun store took it out of the box, put it together and - were shocked. Nope , same issue, still there. So the reboxed it and sent it back. Still waiting…. Legendary , maybe in the past. Today, just more low quality, overpriced crap.
