The chest probably is just fine where it is. Its that angle "shelf" of the top of the chest, the neck, and her shoulders looks wrong due to the exposed "clavicle" area. The joint on her neck also looks off. All of this would seem to be solved with using that joint to bring the chest up. I really think that was intention from the start and something in the design phase made them change it. I have more Arcees than any character, (I have the Toyworld), but I passed on this. If a KO or upgrade kit fixes the chest issues I might pick it up. But otherwise its a hard pass.
It looks like they designed the chest to be low to accommodate the butterfly joint as seen in the video, the arms go over the top of the chest area. I would sacrifice the butterfly joint to make the chest a little higher, but they're obsessed with butterfly joints now a days.
I would do the same
Big guy, one thing I liked about the original transformers they were more simpler and easy to change. They can still can make them like that today. There is no stinking reason why the companies can not make them like that today and still make them look good as they do. From the sledgemaster
This is the first G1 MP I haven't bought on release, they could have totally fixed that chest. The vehicle mode looks awesome though.

I don't think she necessarily needs a chest replacement from a 3rd party but just a piece that snaps on the front that basically extends the chest upward, covering part of her clavicle while at the same time making her chest more of a gradual slope rather than like a shelf that juts out.

Nice review. It really seems to check all the boxes for me except for sculpt when it comes to how recessed the shoulders are compared to the rest of the chest.

if they release the KO.. I could see getting that mold for the alt mode only.. and Rouge for bot.. but even for KO..its a maybe

I’m glad I went with FT Rouge
I did end up picking this figure up, and finally transformed it today. It will be going back to alt mode for a display with MP Hot Rod, who is also relegated to alt mode, because the proportions are off, and the backpack is quite distracting. There are certainly things I like about it, but I still think Rouge looks better on the shelf. Again, thanks for the review. The transformation was a big help.

I reckon rather than cheat higher, they should have just made her collar lower/neck shorter, then the proportions would have been fine. Still can’t get over the fact that no-one at Takara said to the design team “that doesn’t look right guys”. Great review anyway!

We need an MP-51+ G1 Arcee where she is based on the unreleased G1 toy version of herself.
Such a complex transformation for what is in the end a complete shell former, it's like were trying so bad to make her over engineered. They could have compacted that backpack more with much less steps
The chest sits too low, and her face is thin and long, this figure is a 'no' from me, dawg.

@@TheBatman39 Hasbro. They own Takara now, so the failure doesn't fall squarely on Takara. Personally I doen't think Takara would have okay'd release of this... thing, hadn't it been for Hasbro's greed. lol
I can't unsee the weird torso and chest positioning. Gahhhh. I'm happy with my Azelea, even though her lower legs are odd looking, you don't notice after posing her.

Ordered mine from Hasbro Pulse😊.... I think the chest position is not that bad. I think they should of designed the collar a little better and not make it so long, put a little more pink to create an illusion of how far down the chest is. Great review 😎

I really like the alt mode, but it is hard to pay more for this figure then my FTs, to have an alt mode version. I wouldn't mind having it next to my MP Hot Rod (who has been moved to an alt mode display since I purchased the Fans Toys version) in alt mode, with some Junkions.. If this figure was around $90 it would be easier to pull the trigger. It is nice to see some paint. The MP-49 Nemesis Prime has very little paint, and the joint MPM projects are notoriously bad for lacking paint.
It doesn't look like it is a bad figure. It actually looks quite well built, but those proportions, and small size, are hard to get past. It is nice to get some more blast effects.

Ya the look of bot mode is definitely not for everyone. I buy every MP regardless, but most people only need one Arcee in their collection

Best looking Car mode of all the available options but i will stick with MMC Azalea

Nice review and I was on the fence with getting this figure because I already have FT Rouge but after seeing this I’m most likely gonna buy her. Can’t wait for the comparison with FT Rouge. Weird thing is that Takara designed Arcee to have a peg hole on her bottom center 🤦🏻♂️
On the bottom of rc as car mode they should put a thin fake bottom to hide rc. Can u pass that information on the company. I believe that would be a good ideal

I think earthrise got the chest just right, this one leaves too much negative space but I'm sure it has to do with clearance issues in alt mode or something otherwise a very solid fig. Got mine in yesterday.😁

I hate that low and narrow chest. The shelf should be continuous with those two little pink pieces with the pinholes that are right next to the white collar. Instead we have this ugly bend between the shelf and those little side pieces. And they are all separate pieces too.
But this is still the best Arcee sculpt IMO. The alt mode is perfect. I don't even miss the FT finish.
I will wait for a KO, though. Not paying this price for this little product. Not that big of a fan of the character either.
The whole faux wheel behind the knee is really odd... It's like they saw FT's Rouge and thought it was a cool idea but didn't actually put the wheel there... And I haven't found any screens of her from the G1 series where she has anything behind her knee like that.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not completely keen on Rouge's knee. While I do love the wheel being part of it I wish they'd given her pink wheels so it doesn't look quite so odd having the black when bending.

Too many delicate parts like you mentioned in the transformation. She's got one whomping backpack, the chest is just weird. I thought the hips would go out really far ,but they don't. For me the mmc is better proportioned and has a cleaner look with better poseability. Great review tho and happy new years brotha!
That chest design ruins it. Maybe a 3rd party can come up with a way to fix

"Shelf" - that's exactly what the issue is. it's really flat angle there.

Other than her chest seemingly a bit too low, the rest of her looks great, my biggest concern though is the figure's quality. Given that she just came out, will we see possible cracking/breakage like we got with MP Hound?

Nah I didn't get nicee, heard good things from Tman, I stick with G1 mostly
I like this figure but the chest is a big turn off but she has a really nice alt mode and she is a lot warmer looking than the mature looking rouge which I need try and pick up, I'll probably pick her up at some point

They always make a KO, but recently they have been pretty bad quality.

I don't know? ..I mean this is one of those figures that really has to grow on you. When I first saw it, I was like yeah! She's definitely miss transformed. Than I was like wow!! That's how it really is and I what can you do! Imo she looks good in poses! And not in that A straight forward stance. The face sculpt is fantastic! I just can't see myself paying $150, especially when the mmc is like $95. As always great video review TMR. 👍🌟

It's Just like earthrise Just super highpriced with more folding on the backpack which actually does nothing to make it smaller😂 plus the face is really bad, eyes are too big and Not cartoon accurate and the chest is awful and Not cartoon accurate. and the backpack is Not cartoon accurate.
This MP looks horrible. An oxymoron to the term masterpiece. There's no excuse for Hasbro; they had lots of time to get this right. Even 3rd party competitors with less time, and resources did a far better job. Hard pass this time. Make no mistake, 3rd party versions have their own issues, but good god Hasbro. What were you thinking?

@@TMReviews I understand there will always be differing opinions on a given subject matter. And my opinion on the looks of this is subjuctive. But objectively, there wouldn't be as visible a division between transformers enthusiasts over this figure if Hasbro hadn't released it, looking quite like this. Though it may not be proof, it is evidentiary, that there is something objectively amiss with this figure to cause such hard polarization.

I'm not sure there is one, they all have different issues, FT transformation and car mode isn't great, MMC is kinda small and a little wierd in bot mode, they all make sacrifices, nice to have choices tho
takara stopped being a good transformers designer a long time ago unfortunately
