for all the flaws of the robot mode asthetics, that car mode is fantastic

At first, I regretted my preorder. But once I had her in hand and played a bit, I was blown away. To be able to tuck THIS MUCH car in such a compact backpack is a small marvel of engineering.
As for the "saggy chest", this make her into Veteran Arcee, not the greenhorn seen in the Movie. I like it.
That's what I've been hearing from everyone who's actually got her. I saw her next to her 3rd party competitors and I actually liked her overall shape a lot more, the backpacks have never really bugged me either.
Naturally they aren't going to be as perky as they were in 86'. Some sagging is sadly to be expected.

Now that I have her in person It's safe to say that, at least for me this is probably the best Arcee out there. She looks much more clean and shapely compared to the ocular max, and though the rouge may actually be more G1 accurate, I like the shape of MP Arcee a lot better especially at the shoulders. As for her vehicle mode frankly she blows away both of them.

Controversy? It's about time she gets a masterpiece release. Although, I do feel the Animated Arcee dealt with that backpack the best.
The chest is the controversial part. I'm pretty sure is the backpack is universally hated.

My Arcee just arrived via DHL yesterday and I wish to thank you for the video and your step by step transform instructions. Helped me a lot as I suck at deciphering Takara's MP manuals. Keep on doing what you do best! Happy New Year!
Wow what an unexpected review. Now if a girl pulled up on me in that car I would turn into the gold digger. I can not get over that car mode its so awesome. Also what is that music you always play behind the reviews lmao
despite the low chest plate she looks absolutely amazing, i remember as a kid the g1 toys had so many compromises compared to their cartoon versions, megatron, rodimus prime, and many others in robot mode looked like absolute shit!! but thats all there was so we just used our imaginations, many of them look as good or even better than the cartoon now, this version of arcee is astounding, if i had seen this as a kid my mind would have been blown
It definitely looks better than I thought it would, backpack isn’t as bad. The main problem was the chest but it wasn’t terrible.

Thanks for the in depth review! Her car headlights and robot "headlights" are horrible. I dont understand why the Masterpiece line keeps getting worse and yet more expensive. Im glad we got a decent Arcee in the WFC main line.

You're incredibly impressed that her robot mode chest does indeed become the front tip of the car... But that is literally the only tiny bit of bot mode that shows in alt mode at all. I do not find that impressive, though car mode does look great. I agree that with some kind of add on kit, this could be the best MP Arcee.

Hm. I thought her chestplate looked a little low, but upon poring over images of Arcee from the G1 cartoon, I realized something - her chest is actually perfectly fine. It's her collar - it is WAY too long. That combined with the lack of a seamless transition into her shoulders seems to give off the illusion that her chest sits too low.
My opinion, this is easily the best Arcee. The chest doesn't bother me. Both modes look great! I received mine a few days ago and I think Takara knocked it out the park!

Kudos to the designer for making the parts tuck in so neatly and retaining the very human like anatomy and curves of the cartoon character.
She actually looks more elegant with the longer/taller white collar.

After not being too impressed by the first images of Arcee, the in hand review really changed my opinion for the better.
I think it is that the collar is too long. Not necessarily the neck. You can definitely work around the chest as far as posing is concerned. She’s a great figure. I do appreciate your objectivity PVP. Nice review.

I just don’t understand how literally every other 3rd party company has pulled off arcee with minimal backpack, but the official fails.
It really looks bad to me too. The whole torso is sub par. Back is a mess chest looks ridiculous...Transformation ripped from T30 Arcee, really uninspired release from Takara.
Because they have folding panels within panels within panels and their figures are made of shittier, less dense material.

This figure looks pretty much perfect in every way EXCEPT that chest plate. I don't understand why they didn't just have it peg in a half cm higher! I have a feeling a 3P will fix this issue. I don't want or need a whole KO cause other than that it looks great.

Yikes at the robot mode kibble clearly visible from the side in vehicle mode. This is a robot folded up into a box, the least they could do is make sure she fits into the box.
The only thing I can really give it credit for is using the actual car front for the chest. I feel like they really could have made this toy better just by using the same ridiculous fiddly transformation techniques MP-44 had for the legs. Turn the legs inside out; at the very least this could improve the look of the undercarriage.
I think in general Arcee is a tricky character to pull off

You need to try and get on Hot Rod and Ultra Magnus MP's sir!! Takara may wanna try a Kup and Blurr MP's. But I think Studio Series 86 may be as close as we get.
I hope they make an upgrade kit to make the legs can go range motion to kicking back.
The legs of arcee can go range motion to kicking front very well, so why not can go range motion to kicking back too ?

I think you need an alternate colour background when you're reviewing a toy that has a good portion of white on it so it doesn't get lost in the background when you're not holding it.
I agree with you! I was going to use my black one but I hate using it. I hope you were able to see the details clearly for the closeups!
I just realized that the mini blaster can be remained at the shoulder storage area even in vehicle mode, there is no clearance issue with the transformation or rolling
Azalea is in my opinion the best masterpiece style Arcee
That movie design was so unfortunate. It made it almost impossible to create a toy of her that isn't a shellformer to one degree or another. Don't get me wrong, they did a good job compacting the backpack with this figure; but she is still, essentially, wearing almost her entire vehicle mode folded up as a backpack. The only part of her robot mode that seems to be integral to her vehicle mode is her chest; otherwise you could almost entirely remove all of the vehicle parts and still have a full and complete robot. The Decepticons could render her entirely unable to transform just by removing her backpack.
You can put the pink blaster in the holster, then the pistol can store where you plugged it in vehicle mode.
The only area where you have a slight criticism is with her chest... For me, it's quite a bit more than slight... It's the defining characteristic of her Bot mode, especially since she's the first G1 female designed autobot MP and they failed miserably. Also given the transformation there's no reason it had to be designed that way. How this made it through the prototype phase and into mass market is astonishing. Putting the entire vehicle in her Backpack also doesn't help this figure, but the chest is inexcusable. For me, the best MP Arcee remains Ocular Max Azalea, it's a near perfect figure as far as articulation and transformation are concerned, plus it looks great in Bot mode. Takara can, and needs to do better.
This is just the T30 Arcee redesigned and upscaled. The Takara loyalists will eat any pile of shit they serve. Total garbage figure imo, I don't even want the KO.

I don't think that the chest is too low. It just looks like it because it's not flush with the pink shoulder parts just above it.
@Meher Chaithanya It's an illusion because it's incomplete. Compare it with the Earthrise and even the G1 model. It's exactly the same except it has a huge seam.

Hard pass at $144.99. I guess only for the TF die hard. I picked WFC Earthrise version of her for $10 from Walmart 19 days ago. She weighs in at 50 g.
All things considered, including price point, Generation thrilling 30 Arcee is still my favourite G1 official release.
The chest is fine. Breasts are not supposed to be at shoulder level. Look at when she's in profile.
To pose her properly, you need to arch her back a little with her double waist joints and neck joint. Like how women IRL do to make them stand out.

Hot damn. While there are a lot of good things, especially in vehicle and transformation, that robot mode is ROUGH. The head looks really uncanny and creepy, the chest is really wonkey, and God that backpack. I get it's going to be super hard for Arcee to have a good backpack and it'll never be as clean as it was on the show, that back looks rancid. Honestly it's on par with non partsforming earthrise Arcee, and at least then you can remove it. Just yikes. Honestly I'd just get OM azlea. Fun and easy transformation, great vehicle mode, and despite a slightly odd face, an amazing robot mode.
Also I love Earthrise arcee's robot mode, but TBH it's kind of cheating as a transformer.

I just got the Earthrise Arcee but I usually have the removable piece usually put aside. Arcee is very light compared to most deluxes

Honestly after seeing what they did with Rouge, I don’t trust any third party company to try and fix Arcee’s... area.
I think the Hasbro Thrilling 30/Takara Legends Arcee has a very similar transformation.

I don't have the cash to invest in the entire MP line like a lot of fans can. I'm glad for those that can afford them having the best of the best. I just wish Hasbro didn't do her dirty in her Earthrise release. In addition to having the laziest engineering in all of WFC, it is almost the most frustrating transformation to boot trying to get those legs to sit flush under the car without popping out.
Great review PvP, I don't know if I'll get her, as I've already got Ocular Max's PS04A Azalea, which I do think in terms of articulation, balance and looks, does fit Arcee nearly as well as MP51, plus Azalea's chest plate is higher on her body, and unlike some of the other 3rd Party Arcee's isn't overly sexualized.

@@PrimeVsPrime I've had my Azalea for three months now, once you get the hang of her Transformation, it becomes quite fluid and easy. The backpack of Azalea isn't the most secure, but it does hold in place well enough for posing and dynamic action shots. I'd rate my Azalea at 8.5-9/10

So we've got a $150 Masterpiece figure that's worse in some important ways (such as overall robot mode proportions) than a mainline Deluxe from six years ago. This is really showing why the Masterpiece line is for people with more money than sense. Really, is there any toy in the Masterpiece line now that doesn't have a mainline toy with a similar level of quality for a fraction of the price?
Arcee's G1 alt form looks earth like because it reminds me of some 50s or 60s concept cars rather than Cybertronian.

Seriously there are only 3 other G1 style MP Arcees and this doesn't even make top 3 imo. Barely edges out the T30 KO Oversized!

@@dominik_geeky_life I've owned Fanstoys and MMC and I can say that Fanstoys is a bitch to transform and doesn't really stay together very well in robot mode. So far there hasn't been a perfect or even near perfect Arcee.

Is it good MP-scaled Arcee? Yeah. Is it the best MP-scaled Arcee? Hmmmm..... Maybe not. Ocular Max Azalea is also very good eventhough she's not quite G1 accurate. Azalea also didn't have the "Granma Tits" and giant backpack problem, so if you were bothered by them, Azalea is better for you.
I would say, though, if the chest hinge on the MP had to be that low, it would've been better if the chest weren't that pointy.
