I would also like to thank you for this. Including the long socket on top, which finally gave the leverage I needed. I had to narrow the outer width of the head of the spanner I'd acquired too. Probably the result of sacrificing a Chinese one. May this great vid keep bringing you good kharma for the rest of your days!
Yes it has a belt tensioner. You could put a socket driver in the tensioner to release the pressure. After you change the seals you'll discover a whole pile of other problems will disappear. Going to make a follow-up video showing how lots of unnecessary work get done to cars call because the seals in the pump fail from old age.
What O ring kit did you use? I just pulled mine down and found Ive been given the wrong kit. I was asked at the time of buying the kit if it was an alloy pump. I said I didn't think it was and was given a kit with a gasket from what I think was a cast iron Mustang pump. I realised and went back and swapped it for the kit SK-8024. This is also wrong. Finding out some more info I believe I need kit No 8225 or 8097. My pump is exactly the same as yours but off an EL which means the bolt on line is slightly different. Also I use ATF-95 oil.
@@TerryJonesPrinterRepairs After 3 times of replacing the O rings in my pump with different kits I also have found the kits come with an undersized large O ring. They all come with 3.2mm thick O rings and you need a 4mm thick O ring. I got some 114 x 4mm O rings from a hydraulic place and they fit the groove in the pump body perfectly. The smaller O rings seal for about a week then piss oil out everywhere.

Nice mate this is a great video, plenty of info on how to get the job done.
Use a small extension and you can get to the bolts through the pump pulley. Remember where the shorter bolt came from.
I was just thinking how much easier it is to remove and replace pump through the pulley with sockets when I took off mine.
Thanks this has given me confidence to change my seals.
Doesn't your falcon have a belt tensioner? Instead of removing tension by hand?

Hi Terry my mechanic said the power steering pump on my AU ii is shaking, do you know what the problem could be ? Thanks
yep, you have a bad mechanic.
@@TerryJonesPrinterRepairs right so the problem could be in the steering rack?
@@hamishmcfenda4197 make a video of what it is doing and upload it
Your running the wrong fluid and or your rack end boots are split open and dirt has entered on the slide rail.
What symptoms did you get when your power steering switch failed?
It's in a previous video
Thanks do you happen to have a link to the seal kit that you bought
