    TWO Corrections
    ------
    1. Real Estate - those new apartment blocks behind me are going for the following (super expensive) pricing. Apologies I left them out of the video!
    - T1 60m2 €420k
    - T2 130m2 €750k
    - T3 142m2 €1.1m
    2. Schooling! EB 1, 2 and 3 are essentially primary schools going up to age 14 and Grade 9. Secondary education is considered high school and is Grade 10-12 (ages 15, 16 and 17).

    Thanks for the video. I have spent five winters in Quarteira and I am crazy for the place. I am overly-protective and many parts of the video bothered me. Quarteira is nothing like Vilamoura which is a snobby, overpriced tourist trap--pretty and pleasant but ridiculously overpriced. My favourite parts of Quarteira are the boardwalk--(everyone walks on the boardwalk) and the people. The Wednesday farmer's market is outstanding. The people at the fish market are more fun than a comedy club. There are so many fabulous places to eat in Quarteira that it is impossible to mention them all. My favourites are Bambi, Em Casa, Social, Casa da Madeira and A Cabane for all you can eat mussels at Friday lunch. La Plage is a place to have an Abotanado (large espresso) right on the beach. One day, we saw dolphins playing 150 metres off the shore. Sitting in a restaurant, one strikes up conversations with people from all over the world There are lots of Brazilians in Quarteira so put an eee on your Boa tarde. Quarteira is not the least bit ugly unless you find the beach, trees, sun and wine ugly. It is crazy to criticize a place for building housing for people who want housing.

    Love Quarteira. When I first started visiting nearby Vila Sol 20 yrs ago we used to spend most time in Vilamoura. Gradually we spent more time in Quartiera and now v rarely go to Vilamoura.
    Fabulous promenade, wonderful restaurants and bars, gorgeous beach, interesting shops, chilled people.

    My parents have an apartment in Quarteira and it is so much more affordable than the newer buildings. Those prices are pretty steep but if they're facing the ocean its probably worth it. :) I do love this city, can't wait to go back in a couple of months!!

    Quarteira is the best place in the Algarve … in my view… I’ve been researching and exploring for years on where to buy a second home… I’ve now bought in that new “expensive “ beachfront development under construction in Quarteira… !! Worth the price tag I believe for the location on the fab Fuerte Novo beach and everything you need close by… can’t wait to move there.. great to see you reviewing the place btw…👍😎

    Hi Nick, we love your videos! When would be the best time of the year to rent for 6 months anywhere in the Algarve to do a 6 month scouting to pick a place to move to long term? We are moving from the US and know that first impressions change so we are sure it will take sometime to pick our perfect spot. And that could be a detached house not in the town center as well as a T2 in a town center as we love the pedestrian lifestyle but also love quiet so don't really want to be in the middle of a busy touristy area. So we want to pick the 6 months that rent would be the least expensive while we scout the whole Algarve. Thank you!

    • @AlgarveAddicts
      @AlgarveAddicts  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Flav, thanks for watching 👍🏼 The cheapest time for rentals would be over the winter, so six months from October to March. Coming from the USA you'd just get a three month visa waiver though, so check that out first.

    • @flavOG
      @flavOG ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kilted4567 I have been thinking about Vila Real de Santo Antônio (although not “central” to make it a base), Tavira and Loulé.
      As far as moving to I’m tending towards either in the town centers of Tavira or Vila Real de Santo Antônio or the “rural” 10 minute drive from the beach detached residence (for quietness with the concern for the barking dogs like Nick had warned before). I’d love to stay under $2,000 a month with everything included for a couple. Rent and all.

      @@flavOG I visited VRSA a couple of months ago, just for the day, it's pretty on the front and the main square but the grid layout wasn't for me. I currently live in Edinburgh and coming from such a beautiful city makes it difficult to be impressed by anywhere! That's not a boast, it's just reality. Tavira is lovely and Santa Luzia next door is also very pretty and quiet. I'm exploring Lagos, Loule, Burgau and Silves on my next trip. Have you been to Loule before?

    Hi,
    Nice video. :) We will visit to Portugal from 27 of June to 07 of July. Do you recommend this place with a 7 years kid? Or is there any better palce for vacation (warmer water for swimming, etc) ? Thanks

    • @AlgarveAddicts
      @AlgarveAddicts  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Laszlo, the further east you go in the Algarve, the warmer the water is (it's not a massive difference though). You could also look at Monte Gordo for example but Quarteira is more central and has more opportunities for fun things like a water park (Aquashow) and mini golf in Vale do Lobo at Partee which may be more fun for your 7 year old.

    Are there realtors in Quarteira who can help with long-term rentals. Idealista doesn't have a filter for long-term so you have to look at every listing individually to see if it's a seasonal place or not. Sadly most of them are so it's quite tedious trying to find ones that aren't.
