If you go to the first Pingo Doce pic and look across the road at the white and gray building, we lived for awhile in the top floor, 5th floor I believe, with a balcony on 3 sides. Omigosh the memories flooding back . Thank you so very much.

Nick hit it off on all parts there to know about Lagos, it’s history, it’s culture and history and the roads and trains that lead to Lagos. Good for school going children to find quality education. The music in the background as waves rise and cascade, and at the end sowing a vista of restaurants on a lane leading to waterfront, fantastic.

Nice video 👍. Lagos is our home in the heart, because the mother of my wife lives 26 years there. For two years she died and we become there house behind the old wall. For us is Lagos the best place to live. The people, food, old Town and many other things. Obrigado for the home video 😁👍

I first visited Lagos as a student in august 1986, staying at a campside that is long vanished. Returned 40 times since and repeatingly asking myself why the heck I didn't stay back than.
Hehe, wow that may have been a very different life if you had stayed in Lagos.
Best bakery in Lagos is Padaria Central, in the center of the old town, simply amazing.
I loved Lagos. Early beach visits in the morning when no one is around. Train from Lisbon is easy. Dont even really need a car in Lagos, if you don't mind walking.

Great video! I spent a few days in Lagos two summers ago. All of our jaws dropped when we looked out over Ponta da Piadade. We must have taken over a thousand photos!! Must be chilly in the Algarve this winter judging from your scarf. Take care and thanks again for another great video.

The best video of Lagos i have seen. Thanks for covering schools and supermarkets. Very informative. I have a T1 behind the marina. Its so close to walk to downtown but far enough to be away from the party crowd in the summer.

Visited a few years ago from Vancouver, Canada...stayed at the Lagos Avenida Hotel...very nice and great location...for food kept going back to Tasca Da Lota by the train station..basic bench seating but excellent food at very reasonable prices. Wanted to rent a motorcycle from Sidecar32 but they required an international driving permit on top of your regular m/c licence; this wasn't required in Lisbon, so get one in your home country before arrival if you want to rent from them. Recommend a boat tour leaving from the marina(cross the pedestrian bridge and you will see the tour kiosks) It's about an hour tour along the cliffs to the West..beautiful...unable to find biltong in Lagos though ;)...nice job Nick!

The algarve , trains are ancient slow and infrequent, it takes almost 2 hours to get to faro from lagos ,
It sure does. I feel for the powers that be, there possibly isn't that much of a population to support a better train system. It would be fascinating to see the "occupancy" percentages.
Very well done video Nick. I've been watching many videos about the towns in the Algarve and yours stands out for the high quality of the footages and detailed information provided. Pointing out the shops, historic sites and beaches from google earth is extremely helpful. I love the Algarve and can't wait to go back, hopefully later this year ;-)

Great video covering most particulars of a really beautiful town. Next time mention its population, show more of Meia Praia - probably the longest beach in the Algarve and its surrounds- and the fact that the last stop on the train journey westwards is......Lagos! Nowhere is heaven on earth - but Lagos comes close!

I want to move to algarve maybe on the outskirts of lagos or a little bit east. I spent a week there in early October and it was still 80 snd sunny every day. I already miss PT. Cant wait to go back

I can confirm that Praia Porto de Mos is a nice beach. I only scratched the surface during my 1st visit to Lagos, I should return for a more thorough exploration. Love your detailed videos! The view from Ponta da Piedade is awesome!
It sure is, yup Lagos and surrounds are beautiful, but definitely check out Carvoeiro and that area too. It has even more spectacular views.
Lagos is attracting a lot of young people and families (surfers, digital nomads, remote workers) and has a great bar and café scene.

Can anyone comment on how windy Lagos is compared to other towns in the Algarve, like Portimao for example? Does that wind become a problem in the cooler winter?? Thank you.
Hi Martin, I'd reckon it's pretty similar between Lagos and Portimão as they are only about 15km apart from each other. Hi Nick! I’ve been following your channel. Great informative videos! I’m finally visiting the Algarve in the summer to know more about the neighborhoods as we are looking relocate fr the US. We have 2 very young kids and planning to put them in an international school. I’m torn whether to stay in Lagos or Villamoura or Faro as a base for exploring the Algarve. We only have a week or two to go around. Any inputs will be appreciated!
Do one week in Faro and one week in Lagos and hire a car. Perfect!

Hi Kathy, no there aren't any pools like in Madeira. Doca do Cavacos was our favourite over there!
@@AlgarveAddicts Doca do Cavacos is literally my favorite place on the planet. Dream of living above those pools, but my husband thinks Madeira is too sleepy, so we are looking to retire early to the mainland.
Nick I thought about what one wears in the climate there as I've seen it all in New York. I must say after seeing that dude in this video carring a bag in those four feet long pair of shorts........lol I'm safe whatever I wear.

If you were staying for an extended period or resettling to Lagos would a car be required? The town look very walkable.
It is walkable, and there is a train station for ventures further afield. You could totally do it, although I'm so used to having a car I'd get bored without being able to explore!
Hi Nick: How much it would be a monthly rent with the possibility of buying a little house with a small yard, waking around 15 minutes to the beach, one bedroom and a 1 and 1/2 baths, a normal kitchen and a living room or family room where 5 or 6 people feel confi. If the small yard has a covered part better. please if you can let me know or reefer me to someone who can help me. I prefer 1st. floor. I preferred coast.

Nice helpful video. Partner and myself are flying out to Faro in July this year and staying in Lagos. My question is, what is the best mode of transport from airport to Lagos? We will have a little one with us as well so any transport that is relatively quick.

Hi Alex, hiring a car is great if you're an explorer, otherwise you'll have to get a transfer which are normally quite pricey. Check out Yellow Fish transfers www.yellowfishtransfers.com/en/home I interviewed them in a podcast back in 2018.
