I’m one of those that absolutely loved the movie the moment I saw it.
Same! It never bothered me that Orko and Battle Cat etc weren’t in it, the movie seemed more grown up and I loved that about it, plus Skeletor was frightening!
Apparently I was a late bloomer with Filmation He-Man too ingrained in my head. 😀 But I love it now!
@@sunnyshine2215What about the Evil Warriors? When you first watched it did you (at first) wish there were more iconic villians like Trap Jaw and Mer-Man joining Beastman... or were you immediately happy with the newcomers?
It also helped meg foster plays motherboard in the Netflix motu series, so a agreement to use her likeness was possibly agreed as well

From what I’ve been told, the costume worn on screen is actually silver. The lighting made it seem like it was gold though. Not even the designers of the action figure were privy to it, until they started doing their research. I think it was Ted Biaselli who told me that.
Those pictures of the bodysuits shown in the video were actual screen used costumes worn by Meg in the film and sold at auction houses. (I wish I could afford one!) From what I understand at least... is often to keep warm she wore a bodysuit under the bodysuit which gave it often a silver look... until that red lighting hit it! 🙂
You are absolutely right, Rey. I downloaded a bunch of stillshots last night of Meg in the costume, on-set. And alot of them have neutral vanilla light sources, and you can see it's silver. The color scheme of the figure is correct.
Weird cos the pics I've got of the costume just on display show the armour looks gold. The bracers look a lil more silver but the crown and breastplate look gold. The bodysuit looks a pale lavender. Also i painted mine gold to match the gorgeous box art.

My mom took me to the drive in to see this movie but it was a double feature and spaceballs was first, so by the time Motu started i was sound asleep!! Movies were a big event in the 80's, to much excitement!!

I love mine. As you saw on insta I painted the armour gold with a black wash.
Funny you mention she's not as well articulated as some, because Meg Foster has said she couldn't move very well in the suit anyways due to some of the armour and such. :P
Face sculpt is perfect. And the face paint too. Sometimes a superb sculpt can look inaccurate due to poor paint (seen many skilled customers repaint a Marvel head that had looked really poor but turned out the sculpt was accurate and the paint had been lousy, and the customisers paint made it look exactly like the actor). She's got one of the best head sculpts and painted faces in the line. It's Meg Foster for sure. :)
Still puzzled how a UK trailer got this figure same time as US but we're still having to wait til well into new year for the Sorceress Teela wave of figures. :P It's the US box (as it has bio, I don't know if they're gonna erase the bio on '2.0' figures like they did with all the previous masterverse figures) but yeah it didn't cost anymore than a regular figure so doesn't seem like a special import or anything. I'm just glad to have her. :D
That is funny about Meg Foster and her mobility. I can believe it! 😀 Definitely with movie licensed figures (at least for me) it is all about the likeness. Great articulation is a side bonus but never a deal breaker.
Once I find some time I will be doing a repaint on a duplicate purchase. I always have to make sure to leave one of each with paint untouched in case I need to do a comparison (an expensive fine print of doing Masterverse figure reviews!)
@@foreterniaofficial If it helps I used a gold Posca paint pen (with assistance from a fine paintbrush to push the paint into the lil crevices) and then a simple black ink wash over the top. It was mostly very simple though a couple areas were a smidge awkward. Need to buy some new red and blue paint for the jewels in her crown. :)

I'm GLAD that somebody else shares my happiness about finally getting this figure. After missing out on the Four Horsemen iterations of The Movie versions of He-Man and Skeletor figures, I was very happy to get the Masterverse versions, with the Ramen Toys add-on heads of the Dolph Lundgren He-Man, to replace that weird looking Planet Of The Apes Cornelius Mattel Headsculpt. And I am very happy to see that they are actually better than the Matty Collector figures, at least in proportion. But the Ramen Toys head for Dolph elevates the figure way above the Matty figure. I think Skeletor looks better with the Masterverse version. The facesculpt is better, at least. But the void of an absent Meg Foster Evil-Lyn figure was still there. I was over the moon when they announced that she was coming, and I hit up a 2 quantity pre-order on Entertainment Earth. Strangely, I feel somewhat complete with these three on my shelf. She looks great, at least for the very first movie version of her. For me the headsculpt is excellent. I thought she was the best thing besides Skeletor, of course, that there was of the live action movie. Cant wait for the other movie additions that I feel that they will deliver, at some point.
Yes! I love your passion for the film! I broke down and purchased a custom head for my Masterverse Movie Inspired He-Man as well... from Kentucky Fried Customs (which seems like a recast of the Rebel He-Men head). And I agree, hopefully more movie figures are on the way (looking at you Beastman!) 🙂
Excited for this. Based on the box art, I assumed that was supposed to be the projection of the key. BTW: met Foster at a con. She was very nice and still has beautiful eyes. Check out an underrated 80s thriller she was in called “The Wind.”

What happened to movie he man’s head sculpt looks nothing like dolph, but the skeletor and evil lyn look pretty much how they did in the movie
From what I gathered Mattel looked into obtaining the rights to Dolph's likeness. Perhaps he was asking for more money than Mattel was willing to pay? I have no idea, but Skeletor seemingly was easier because of the mask/facial applications actor Frank Langella wore (which meant Mattel did not have to pay for anyone's likeness.)

I wish it was a regular looking Comic Key though.
If it were energized, it should be partially open, with gold highlights and sparkles, and I feel like the primary button should be glowing red.
As an energized Key, it's all wrong.
As a Hologram Key, it's too big.
If she just had a regular key, we'd have two, and there are two in the movie.
Because the new Gwildor comes with a key that looks like the old 80s toy key.
Which is great for nostalgia, but unfortunate for trying to get a key like the movie.
But I plan on modding both of them.

Though I am looking forward to getting one of the vintage and classics looking keys with Gwildor. Because I want to have a Key that's open, to recreate some of those scenes too.

Evil-Lyn is a "speciality store" item that will not be widely available in stores. But the specialty retail outlets that have taken Pre-Orders for this figure will start shipping in December! 🙂
As someone who has never seen the film I'm confused why you keep calling her armor gold, it looks silver to me in all the photos you posted. White gold maybe but not gold gold.
This might help. The forearms appear silver or white gold but the torso armor is definitely gold. 🙂

@@foreterniaofficial Weird, Skeletor's figure looks a lot more like the irl costume color wise while Evil-Lyn seems to match the lighting seen in the actual film.

Movie Evil-Lyn is a Masterverse figure. Some of the other figures I showed are Classics figures. They are very expensive in the secondary market and not the same size of Masterverse, but still scale pretty well with Masterverse figures and vice versa. 🙂

I overall have LOVED the Masterverse line. This was one of the most anticipated figures, I I hate being critical, but one of the worst Masterverse figures since the first He-man figure cam out with yellow skin and a goofy face.
Very sorry to hear that considering it was one of your most anticipated figures t-train. Maybe you might feel differently somewhat once you can look at it in-hand.
I will say, that when I saw the promo pics of Evil-Lyn, I was excited to order it, but I was shaky on the headsculpt, but having mine in hand, which came in yesterday, I'm very happy. She looks great, and that face is soooo much better looking. Now I will admit, she could use more smoke on the eyes, under the eyebrow, I'm glad I pre-ordered two. The box presentation is worth it alone, if that helps you to buy one, even if you keep it in box.
Movie Evil-Lyn is one of my fave figures currently. Got mine yesterday, I painted her armour gold with a black wash and she's near perfect. :)
