@@blindspot1987Do you mean like savage and comfy at the same time? Definatly. There`s a mode for every occation and bumpy twisty backroads is where it shines. And riding that wave of torque out of corners is just WOW. I took a BMW M1000R out for a test ride before getting the MT, it`s a great bike but it doesn`t have a crossplane engine. If the BMW is a scalpel the MT-10 is a meat cleaver. They both get the job done but the meat cleaver is so much more fun. You won`t regret getting one

I just got one, so I’m still riding it fairly gently. The engine sound is AMAZING, and I love the suspension already. My only complaint so far is that first gear seems pretty tall. I cruise through some pretty small towns (Hershey PA) at 30-35 mph, and that’s first gear on this bike with factory sprockets (2024).

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Adam. I'm a little surprised that you thought the foot pegs were a touch high. I think that's countered out by a relatively high-ish seat to make it more comfortable. I'm thinking the MT-10 base will be my next bike. The electronic suspension isn't worth it to me (just my opinion of course). Any way, thank you again for your thoughts on this bike!

    • @k1mura92
      @k1mura92 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Got the MT-10 yet? :D
I think the footpegs on most superbike-derived street fighters are "high" compared to their smaller cc counterparts - i.e., the seating position on the MT-10 is a bit more sporty and aggressive than on the MT-09/07. Same with the GSX-S1000 vs the GSX-8S. I think the logic is that more people are going to take the liter bikes to the twisties and track and want a bit more weight over the front wheel, meanwhile the smaller cc bikes are more likely to be used as pure or mostly urban bikes, so comfort takes priority. In my opinion high pegs aren't uncomfortable, the most important thing is the tall and wide bar to avoid too much forward torso lean!

The only thing I wish about the MT 10 was it had a little slimmer gas tank on it. I’ve always found their tanks to be a bit wide, and it gives the bike more of a “cruiser” feel.

Thing I've found owning mine since it's release in Australia.
As a tall rider, the wind buffeting sucks and the touring screen made it worse.
I find the seat hard and angles forward too much, apparently the comfort seats fixes this.
The UI / controls for the display are fiddly.
It's far too quiet even with the induction venting.
The Ohlins suspension is awesome though.

Only we had a guy join us on his MT10, who said he never got his MT10 out of first and second gear, 2021 model and was complaining of his bike overheating! due to us riding too slow! his fan was coming on often? running temperatures of 111c! according to him!

The CP4 engine that is used in the Yamaha MT-10 today does in fact have a lineage that starts at the original crossplane crank bigbang r1 motor. However it's quite the far stretch to say that it is actually the same exact motor, but built with different valves constructed of steel as opposed to titanium. The truth in all reality, is that the motor can indeed be traced back to the very first crossplane crankshaft bigbang r1 engine and it's "humble" beginnings. And while it has not completely been fully redesigned ever. Instead,, the engineer's at Yamaha have continued to improve the engine yearly whilst listening to their customer base. as apposed to starting fresh from scratch

Aren't the front signals designed to breakaway in case of a drop like on the 07? If that's the case it's just a matter of locking the clip in properly from the back. You have to work from both sides of the mount. Other than that, you may have convinced me to get a 10 SP.

I think the reason the brakes could be more of an issue on the R1 is simply because the R1 is always going to be going faster... more power while lighter and with WAY better aero. Having owned two and three of each and ridden both models on track, the R1 is working the brakes harder, especially when there is a substantial straight and it may see 160 MPH or more. It is hard to even enjoy a naked above about 130 MPH due to the wind blast. Also, moving to a more upright position on the naked when slowing down from speed should provide a more substantial "parachute effect", if that is desired.

Yeah I have. MT10 sp has better electronics and the active suspension is boss on the road while fixed mode is also good on track. The RS has better brakes and more lean angle but the fact that you can’t separate wheelie control from tc killed it for me.

I had a current gen MT10 and was a bit let down by the power, particularly in the lower gears. Seems like some electronic F'ery going one. It felt noticeably less powerful in the lower gears than my previous gen MT10. And it is a pretty large/wide and heavy motorcycle. Now I am riding a current gen XSR900. It also feels like there is a lot of computer restriction taking place in the lower gears. But out on the roads when letting her eat on twisty roads, I am thinking the lighter and more nimble (but still very stable) XSR 900 is a better experience. That said, I miss the sound note of the CP4, though since Euro5, the sound experience (and power delivery in lower gears) is not even close to as good as pre-euro5.

Hey certain Japanese segments of the old rumor mill is fairly adamant the NEXT gen R1 engine will be a TRIPLE! Not only that but a TURBO charged triple! At first blush adding a turbo seems a needless addition of weight and bulk BUT if done to a TRIPLE? Pretty sure the weight/bulk savings of one less cylinder/head/piston/crank segment/pipe/throttle body etc should more than make up for it! Now just plug in the fact that an 890 CP3 is churning 117hp without any titanium bits that could easily up that to 170 THEN add 110cc which has to be good for another 15? hp at least? and we are at 185 yes as expected less than an RR type inline 4 but NOW add a turbo charger! And lets be conservative as we want smoooth boost and lets just go with plus 40% (even though it COULD be 65+%) 40% of our 185 is SEVENTY FOUR HP! IS 260hp! Now drop it another 10% for euro whatever and to make it sane and it is STILL way WAY over 200hp and the most powerful non supercharged sportbike in existence! And I believe still could weigh less than ANY production 1k sportbike today! Now that will be in the 400 pounds wet R1 but the 2024 0r25 MT10 wont have the titanium bits so will likely be only 200hp but WAY more powerful than current MT10 which I figure there will be a fire sale to purge that obsolete inventory

Hey as for the suppsed adjustability on the Tracer9gt? I own one and I can tell you it is mostly gimmick. Like the two position handlebar option you are talking maybe 10mm a bit over an 1/8" is what it appeared to be when I rotated my risers 180 to move them forward ...it was a pain getting to the nuts and Ima say it was not even worth the trouble. Likewise the foot pegs have TWO mounting positions again 10mm which is hardly anything ....I guess if you were barely scraping the feelers it would make a difference i went ahead and moved mine up they feel the same The seat does lower about an inch so at least that is the only really significant adjusment which I chose the lower simply to lower my mass and because the seat rocks on the upper postion (poor engineering) Im just saying I dont think MT10 owners are missing out on adjustability compared to the Tracer like he suggested. If footpegs were a real issue I'm sure there are complete aftermarket rearsets that ARE adjustable...(Ive seen em on other models) and of course one can always change the bars pretty cheaply as well as the risers

I prefer the CP3 engine slightly over the CP4, plus the MT-09 is about 40-50 lbs lighter, and quite a bit less expensive too. Both are great bikes, but I went with the MT-09.

MT10 sp if cash isn't a problem for you. 25% less gas mileage for MT10. Also if you live near a major 4-lane highway system or interstate freeway then definitely MT10...go for it.

What is "LED Halogen bulb:?? I assumed halogen is an incandescennt genre or tech and LED is totally seperated new tech? No? Really surprised me you used both terms together like it is one thing??? I also assume the turn signal stalk issue is the identical signals Yamaha is putting on other motorcycles too. Once reinserted RIGHT after coming loose they stay quite well unless really knocked....I understand the purpose as it is really hard to brek these signals compared to so many others it is just the cost of that feature is that when they DO get knocked loose it is hard to really get them back installed RIGHT....it is easy to stick em back in not right where they might stay for a few days but WILL eventually fall loose again so the trick is to take the time and massage the signals all the was around and bck into their fully secure spot again ....its funny on a yamaha showroom you might see several signals dangling or cockeyed lol ....I actually fixed a couple the last visit to a showroom just cause it annoyed me so much the sales people ignored it ....my guess is children not watched by parent? Or maybe lot boys or custodians working around the bikes knock them loose? Mine never come out on my Tracer 9 gt but I am careful to not knock into em!

heated grips? This old bike is almost 20K out the door so it needs some extras. Just a GOOD guess Id say but my money is on this being the LAST year for the current gen R1 and since the M10 IS a dumbed down R1 then this may be it for this gen MT10 also. What happens when a model is cancelled? Well the Tracer 9gt was canceled and the price has plumeted $2k! so this could easily get hit like that also shortly after EICMA here in a few months....therefore I am afraid to buy this bike as great as it is. There are dumb rumors the 2024 R1 will be Turbo charged but I dont see that happening unless it is two spin off models for bragging rights alongside of normally asperated new gen R1 and MT10 ....or hey Yamaha COULD leave the MT10 as is one more year to eat up parts inventory like they did with 2021 XSR900 the only cp3 powered bike that didnt get all the new stuff the Tracer 9 and MT09 did but then it finally got it all in 2022 so who knows a new gen MT10 might not be till 2025 year model
