    Excellent review as always, Tom! That physical first gear in the CVT gives you the best of both worlds: strong initial take off of a traditional geared automatic plus the smoothness & great fuel economy of a CVT. I love that the 2021 Lexus UX 200 shares the same engine and transmission as this Corolla hatchback. You could say the Corolla is a sleeper Lexus lol!

    Hi, thank you for the video. I have just purchased a 2022 Corolla Hatchback in manual and waiting for it to arrive at the dealer from the factory. I really like the night shade package but it doesn't come in Manual transmission (or atleast here in Canada it doesn't). I got the SE upgrade and added the spoiler and TRD intake. I have a few questions for you. Is the TRD intake worth it, will I notice a difference? And, do I really miss out on a lot not getting the XSE? I personally don't find the fog lights appealing due to their small round size, and I am not a fan of leather seats. Other than that, is the JBL sound system so much more superior than the stock? I could have gotten a 2021 XSE in manual without waiting for a factory delivery but I didn't want to pay almost $2000 more and I feel it's nicer getting a car right off the factory line that I know it wasn't test driven to hell and gas pedal floored to test the limits by test drivers, and possibly causing premature wear and tear on a vehicle someone purchases. Thank you in advance.

    Great review! I'm considering this along with the mazda3 hatch and civic hatch. Such a difficult choice! Doesn't make it easier that I want a 6 speed manual.

    Owned my for a month and will say it’s a car. The interior spacing is just fine for really anyone who is average size. I have two complaints but I was aware when I bought it. The hatch isn’t easy to close without getting your hand prints all over the back door. The black is gorgeous but it’s finger print central. The rear door doesn’t have the nice Matte finish to close the doors which is fine, it wouldn’t fit the design. But if you have a kid, it’s finger print central. Second complain is cargo space if you have any sort of luggage the back seat is coming down. I knew this, however with a baseball bag and 2 chairs it doesn’t fit appropriately. The height isn’t so much of the issue. It’s the door. You won’t be able to close it if your don’t load properly. I lay down the small seat to add a cooler. No big complaint there. Just know you truly are limited with cargo space. I was able to fit a 6 foot ladder inside with the seats down.
    Way more power than reviews stay. Road noise is an issue because I don’t want to blow my speakers but I feel like I eventually will. Speakers them selves sound cheap. And that’s really it. Msrp for my 2022 was 22k. Plus dealer add ons which I paid with a credit card so i can’t complain there. It’s worth every penny @22. Max 24. Will likely enjoy this as long as possible and eventually upgrade to a Rav4 or Corolla cross when the market figures itself out.
    In comparison the civic hatch was 7k more. Not worth the price in my opinion. Yes it’s superior, but 30k….. I Can get a used Rav 4

    Glad that’s it’s available with a manual transmission.
    One touch automatic windows are more annoying than convenient though. Most of the time I actually don’t want to put windows all the way down. Would prefer if there was a way to turn that off. My current car one touch windows and I hate it so much I’d rather have old school manual windows. I’ve also never had manual windows break. In my car I had to get a window regulator replaced and you have to do this at the dealership or the parts are not warrantied meaning if you buy a window regulator and it breaks in two weeks youll have to buy another one again.
    Glad it doesn’t have auto stop, that’s an annoying feature with a lot of newer cars when you stop at a light and or are in heavy traffic because they are sluggish to get going again.

      Automatic widows go all the way down automatically only if you press the button all the way down. If you only press is halfway, it will act like a manual.

    I'm wondering if you found the media centre/radio a visual interference, at all? Does it fold down? I'm 5 feet tall and wonder if it will obstruct my vision since it is so high. I notice that they have done the same thing with their 2022 model corolla's.

    • @braetonwilson4296
      @braetonwilson4296 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It doesn't fold down but from what I've been told, it doesn't block your vision. You can also raise your seat higher. The only way you can know for sure is if you take it on a test drive.

    • @apricotbums
      @apricotbums 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm 5 feet, too. When the seat is at its highest (which is better anyway), you'll be able to see no problem.

    After daily driving my 2010 Honda Civic si which had 18” rims and tires were horrible sitting at 215/40/18. I would never do 40’s on a daily driver cuz you go through tires every 2 years and costing anywhere 6 to $800. For a set of 4 for food all season tires. I live in Chicago so you need good all season tires. My next sport car I wouldn’t go low as 45’s on daily driven cars .

    Don't want no low profile tires that wear out faster and large rims that are only cosmetic in nature and provide less cushion / protection on realworld roads with pot holes and and bumps. The larger wheels much more prone to curb rash, getting bent up and getting stolen. Get standard wheels and tires for more comfortable ride with lower tire replacement costs.😎

    What's the difference between the 2022 and 2021 Toyota Corolla hatchback in the USA spec. on sale in USA. NOT CANADA.
    No CVT's only 6 spd. manual for me in the Corolla and it must be made in Japan ONLY. Must have best stereo, in optional pearl white optional color with red interior and red leather seats. Can this be ordered in these colors? I don't care about rear seat space for passenger. I need cargo space so I will just lower those seats down for more space. Don't need sunroof. Need blind spot warning system and best factory Stereo system that comes in Corolla or any Toyota. What is this auto stop feature?😲
