All the reviewers state that the hatchback has more storage space than the sedan but in reality, the opposite is true. For example, that suitcase you used in your video. You can easily fit 3 or 4 of those suitcases in the sedan trunk and still have space for small items. You can also fold down the sedan backseats as well. Sedan trunk is very large.
Corolla hatchback has 30 inches of rear legroom. Corolla sedan has 35 inches of rear legroom. So someone like you who's 6 foot tall can comfortably sit behind a driver who's 6 foot or taller in the sedan. Can't do that in the hatchback. Finally, the sedan has real dual exhaust tips, not fake ones like the hatchback.

Just bought the automatic Nightshade model. Excellent driving characteristics, great basic no frills stereo system, comfortable seats, unbelievable fuel efficiency, more than enough trunk space once rear seats are folded down, although my bike does not fit unless I take off the front tire, impressed with the radar adaptive cruise control and all the other safety features that you wouldn't expect to find on a car that costs 24K!! Glad I looked at all the TH-cam videos on different cars before I test drove a few and settled on this one. Toyota did a great job on this car.

I actually went with a civic hatch manual and totally enjoy it. I need the space. Question. Think a mountain bike without the front wheel will fit inside with a rear passenger? The civic, mind u it costs more but I'm so sure that Corolla will last longer since it doesn't have a turbo. Again congrats and cheers for buying a stick.

I test drove a 2023 SE yesterday - back seat room is not a problem. I'm 6'2" and was able to sit in the back seat - albeit, I wouldn't want to spend a few hours on a long road trip back there. If you're moving family back and forth around town, there's enough space in the back seats provided you don't have the driver or passenger seat all the way back.
As far as storage with both seats down - more than enough. I brought some empty boxes the same size as some of my telescopes (9.25" Schmidt and a 4" APO) and photography equipment with a backpack and tent and small cooler with space left over.

I have four wishes: 1) an inside liftback release, in the world of COVID-19 it would be really nice to have, 2) Rear Cross Traffic Alert (which has been added to the 2021 model as an option, (3) AWD as an option and 4) a Heads Up display. It really is a decent car for what it is. Motor Trend has it at 7.5 seconds to 60 with the manual which is on par with previous gen Mazda 3 2.5 and matches the 200 HP Acura TSX and ILX perhaps due to the fact you can just get to 60 in second gear. This review reminds me of how easy modern cars are to drive versus the pure analog of older cars. I'd guess most people who have been driving 15 years or less wouldn't know how to control brake lockup on a car without ABS, or how to counter steer to avoid a spin with some sort of stability control pretty much standard on all cars these days. This Corolla seems like the perfect road tripper for 2 people..but if I owned it I would put a little dynamat in the wheel wells, and maybe some in the front doors and under the carpet in the front. Other than the tire roar from the 18" wheels being annoying on a long drive, that thing pretty much drives itself and even watches out for speed limit signs the driver misses. All that and more were only found on something like a Merc S class 20 years ago, and probably didn't work as well.

Lol I was surprised when he mentioned it... all it takes was looking around lol. One gripe that he never mentioned was the storage space by the center console and honestly it's too small and pitiful. My 2020 sedan technically doesn't have android auto, although I do use my Samsung for everything else, mainly for music and making phone calls but when it comes to GPS, Toyota provided the scout gps link map which in my opinion can be infuriating to use at times unless you have toyota entune app at all times for it to work. As a result, I might end up with Apple iPhone as it has Apple Carplay and now that we heading to summer, Google maps or waze will be the way to go. This is how I see it, but as far as performance wise, it does what is expected to do and that is point A to point B.
