Silk Scarf Tutorial Painting with Alcohol Ink

Hello friend, autumn is here and I want to make something wearable . I want to try coloring silk scarf.
this technique and application only works on silk scarf if you use different material it will not give the same color effect like silk
Material and tools needed
1. Palette knife
2. Jacquard Water based resist
3. Stencil

I would like to learn more about your technique and thought process, but I can't speed read through the materials and the music is much too irritating to get through. I would love to see a video where you explain the resist methods and why you chose this one. Have you tried any decolorants on silk?

When you apply resist are you lining up the resist areas so when you fold the scarf and apply the AI it’s hitting leaves on layers underneath.

What are the three colors on the left? One is plum or purple. What are the other two. I have the three on the right. Do you try to line up the stencils each silk fold?

Beautiful scarf!! 😍 Do all alcohol inks work on silk? I only see ink for epoxy projects. Do these work on silk?

Very pretty. I had wondered about using masking fluid. Does it wash right out in the water or did you have to rub it off. Cold water, right?

Yes, it came off easily in water . I did not recall having to rub it.

How do you set the ink so it doesn't fade?

alcohol ink doesn't dissolve in water because it's alcohol based. So even if you wash it in water or mild detergent . The color doesn't fade.

@@studiomanik51 I just made one in greens yesterday and when I rinsed it out in cold water the color kept running out. I got quite a bit of fading.
