Pressure builds up in transit. When you take the caps off flick the stem with your index finger (like you would the top of a soda or beer can) then grasp the bottle by the lid so you’re not squeezing the body and press a push pin down into the stem to open them up. Hope this helps.
Thank you for taking the time to do this. I am researching my first set of alcohol inks and this really helped me learn the differences and weigh the pros and cons.
The 1st box & the last box you tested were my 1st 2 sets. As i started selling more cups I slowly incorporated Ranger inks to my collection. The ones from Amazon did well but the Ranger & Pinata inks are by far the best.
Thank you for this video. I have only used TH because that’s what I have for my papercrafting and I’m new to epoxy art. I definitely think you could finish those off brand inks for sale. I like the softness. After watching this video, I feel that both types have their place depending on which look you’re going for on each different project.
This was a very interesting video. Thank you. I must admit, I’d only ever heard of Piñata and Tim Holtz among the inks you demonstrated. The other name brands have never even come up in searches that I made personally. 🥰
Just stumbled upon this video today! I actually subscribe to your channel but don't know how I missed this! So I had a very bad experience with Piccassio inks. I made a red/white/blue alcohol ink swirl tumbler for a friend of mine ... the sapphire blue I used faded totally within one week. I had also applied it to an order of 14 tumblers that I had and some of those faded (with the sapphire blue). I wrote the Piccassio company and they said it was my epoxy and not their fault. I wrote they epoxy company (KS Resin) and they have never heard of this. I was so frustrated! I am not sticking to Pinata and Tim Holtz now (but may lean now to the Pinata). I have pics if you want to see the faded cup. I had to strip them all and start over. I used Pinata Sapphire Blue and have had NO problems with the cups fading! Just thought I would share! Thanks for all of your hard work!
I have Tim Holtz, Couture Creations, & Piñata. What I don’t like bout Couture is they are made in Taiwan and I prefer to buy USA products only if at all possible. I can get Tim’s inks a big box stores so no shipping costs and only buy when I can use discount coupons. Tim just put out 10 new colors so think he’s up to 80 colors now. I do like white caps better but not that important since I keep cap right next to bottle so I don’t mix them up. Thanks for the review.
What an informative and funny video! I love review videos so I don’t have to spend the money on bad products. It also changed my mind on Tim Holtz inks. I think the Picassio was the best. You are very funny 😂
I've noticed putting the inks on a chalkier paint will cause them to dull a little. I like the Picassio brand but have started buying the maribu inks. I like those but the color seems a little off on some. Really great video thank you for doing this.
Did you ever review t-Rex alcohol inks? I saw in a comment you were going to try them. If so, which do you like better, t-Rex or picassio? New to them, but hoping to try for mixed media oil paintings. Thank you for this, by the way!
This was fantastic! I really truly appreciate this thorough review. Omg the period stain 🤣 I’m still laughing, cause I thought the same thing but didn’t think you would actually say it. I’m always tempted to buy the more affordable inks but after watching this, I will stick with piñata. I don’t have many Ranger ones but I have noticed that they aren’t as vibrant as the piñata inks. Thanks again
Thanks for the awesome share - - I also use the 3 inks you like best - but now i think - I’m gonna narrow down to piñata - I just purchased some T Rex - per advice of a friend - lot of pretty color lol
I like this kind of presentation better, not that your tutorials aren't good in the first place (which is why I subscribed). You exhibited your lighter side today, with a nice sense of humor. I appreciate it.
Tim Holtz looks more water color to me. I think not shaking before you use them too makes a difference. It dries the alcohol ink out when you leave the lids off. But my favorites are piñata and Tim Holtz. I will definitely. Try bree reeze. Thanks for the test!
Question - so when I am googling "alcohol inks near me", I always get two results. One just seems like "normal" alcohol ink. The other is labeled as "alcohol inks for resin epoxy projects". Do you know if the latter behaves the same as the former?
Thank you! You made me laugh and I needed it tonight..I’m just grateful you came up in my feed and I have wondered about the different brands… I’m just starting and actually waiting for about 20 Ranger inks to come in from Amazon 😂😂 I believe I will send them back and order piñata.. I agree that TH Ranger just wasn’t as vibrant…. I’d bought 3-4 packs of Brea Reese from Tuesday Morning before they closed. Each pack was about $4 for 3 inks which made the Leary… (I had retired from teaching math and decided to start paper crafts. I bought anything without knowing what it was…I just had to because the it was A BARGAIN!!)😂😂😂 Two years later I have seen TH videos which peaked my interest and I remembered that I had them along with every color Hobby Lobby has…also bought when they were 75% off @$.99…. Yes. ….another bargain without knowing exactly what to do with them 😂😂😂 I’m going to my craft room to see if they are worth keeping now. Again, thank you for lifting my spirits!!! I’m smiling big right now and feeling so much better I even attempted a “little “ bit of humor… Not sure it works but it’s too much to delete it now. Excuse the rambling. Blessings, Nancy Rolfe
Great video. I was watching Rhonda she does counters in Epoxy and she used dyes and alcohol. It was awesome. I might try that and some of the ones you tested. ❤️
WOW.. I started doing tumblers less then a month ago and started with Tim Holtz. Your video has changed my mind and will finish up my Tim Holtz brands and switch over to Pinata and Brea Reese. I loved how they finished. I am so glad you did this video. Thank you. I really enjoy your videos because you are you and don't try to act different from what you are like in real life (I don't know you but, feel like I do. (HAHAHA).
The one I would like you to compare is Pixiss. I have some and think they are pretty vibrant as well as the Tim Holtz and Pinata brands. Brea Reese was my Top Favorite though.
I use my needle weeder to poke a hole in my alcohol inks so it doesn't spray. I think I'm also sold on Picassio. I currently use Tim Holt but use Pinata white.
It was red! Try a sharp pointed dental tool or a push pin to make a tiny hole in the top of each bottle, there’s an indent for it. I like the dental tool bc the hole is much smaller for accurate uses like petri pour effects or whatever. ~~Idk if you’ve seen any videos of adding resin dyes to alcohol but the results are pretty amazing. The dye’s are usually lightfast and they act the same as the alcohol inks. Thanks for sharing all your great information. All alcohol inks are not the same 😵💫 which one would (especially new people) assume they would be really similar.. one of these was kinda disappointing and the other one was pretty great. Appreciate you doing these reviews 🙌
It’s definitely red not fushia fushia is a gorgeous bright pinkish with mayb a little red but it’s very pink I love fushia and use it all the time that isn’t fushia lol
Tip: Use a push-pin to open new bottles instead of cutting off the tops. Much easier and less likely to cut off more than necessary.
yes, live and learn! 🤣. It was fun though..... kinda 😆
I use wig pins.
The name is so unique, Blue. I just burst out laughing 😂😂😂

Live and learn!! 🤣. I am glad it gave me a good laugh!
There is a small orange bottle punch in the box to pock the hole in the tip, no cutting needed.
Thank you for taking the time to do this. I am researching my first set of alcohol inks and this really helped me learn the differences and weigh the pros and cons.
Great review. Just getting started on gourds and appreciate your work. Would like to understand more about metallic inks like gold and copper....
The 1st box & the last box you tested were my 1st 2 sets. As i started selling more cups I slowly incorporated Ranger inks to my collection. The ones from Amazon did well but the Ranger & Pinata inks are by far the best.

I love Tim Holtz products but yeah the piñata is really good

Thank you for this video! The piñata is the prettiest.
I love seeing the different manufactures of inks so I know what to use.. thank you
For black caps, I dabbed gesso on tip of lid then put a drop of the ink color so I can see which color is which

I just bought the last set you did and can’t wait to try them…Thanks for sharing this…I was so happy that you liked the one I bought

Awe, thank you! I had a great time making this video. Similar videos will be made like this in the future!🥰
I've noticed putting the inks on a chalkier paint will cause them to dull a little. I like the Picassio brand but have started buying the maribu inks. I like those but the color seems a little off on some. Really great video thank you for doing this.

Thank you, this was very helpful! I have both Picassio and Pinata so it's nice to see I've chosen well, lol!

This is SO helpful to me, as a newbie still researching these things!
Love your humor!
🥰🥰 Thanks!

Thank you! I agree, I want to show more of my personality to you all sometimes!! ❤️. More videos like this to come in the future!
I would love a review of foil transfers and the different glues!
The glues is a great idea. I don't know much about foil transfer stuff yet.
They make things to pierce them they don’t make a mess and gives a small hole so great control.

I've used the Picassio on top of epoxy and the colors were very vibrant.
It's a great video. I recently picked up Pyxiss brand. A set of blues. And I got a metallic set by SigWong. I've opened neither

I am changing brands myself! And thank you !!
I used a large quilting pin to poke a hole it did splatter a small amount
I have the first set and there is a push pin in the box to open the ink.
Live and learn! 🤣
Thank you so much for this great info.
Great test! Thank you
Great review, thanks for sharing

I really am a Brea Reese fan as well!
I would love to learn to make my own cups but I don't have the machine that spins the cups round when applying the epoxy x
Y’all need to try black bear inks! They are the best that I have tried!
Noted!!!
I use my needle weeder to poke a hole in my alcohol inks so it doesn't spray. I think I'm also sold on Picassio. I currently use Tim Holt but use Pinata white.
Yeah, I now know about the needle trick 😆
Hi Leila and Onix! ❤ Love how kitty is in the video. ❤❤❤
Thank you!!!
Have you tried couture cloture alcohol inks they are amazing
Could use tissue over tip when cutting off.
Great love this
i like the picasso brand best ❤❤

Yeah, I learned the needle trick after the video! 🤣 And I love resin dye. I have purchased some in the past from CCDIY and boy, is it a life changer!
I use a tack to open my alcohol ink
im totally new at this...what kind of epoxy did u use?
I use Flynn Sisters Supply Shop Epoxy. 10% off coupon code: MISS
What's your opinion on Maribu Inks?
I am going to make a video of those and TRex next month
Are you considering how ml per bottle?
dull red
Colors are pretty dull... epoxy might brighten them (hope)
What brand of epoxy do you use?
Amazing clear cast is my favorite!
It’s definitely red not fushia fushia is a gorgeous bright pinkish with mayb a little red but it’s very pink I love fushia and use it all the time that isn’t fushia lol
Looks Blood Red, not Fuchsia 😲
Red
Spelled wrong! Pixiss
It wasn't you . The fushia was red and the peach pink wasn't peach lol
I’m a T-Rex inks fan
I will be comparing that brand soon!
@@MissKissKreations sweet!
No it's not fuschia. It's looks more pinkish red
Red
