Great to see mountainside on the channel. Team seems fun. The faction rule is a little dull but the variety in the ops and the big patriarch make up for it I think
Awesome breakdown, as usual. Thank you. Still not sure if I want to play this team if I get the box, but cool, def want the Yaegirs for my Votann 40k army. Also yeah, jelly is more liquidy than jam. Jam might have solid bits of fruit in it, but it tends to hold it's shape, for abit. Less so when it warms up.
Reason says that restrictions are for activation. So restrictions for 1st activation, then reset (like with TP) and clean slate for 2nd activatoin. In short, yes, you can activate Patriarch, charge, fight, then activate Patriarch, charge, fight.
You only have 4 APL that cannot be modified. Each time you activate, you are spending from the 4 APL for that TP. So you could charge and fight, and then activate later and move, but only move a total of 9" for the TP. Or only charge twice for a total of 9 inches of charges?
Yeah the bigger question for me is if you have to spend any APL on the first activation at all. It doesn't really specify that you have to-- can you just use 0APL the first activation and then all 4 on the second? I've seen opinions bothways but I don't think it's actually clear RAW.
i think as it currently stands, the only viable options for brood coven operatives are primus and magus (against AP heavy teams), and either 1 extra trooper or maybe the familiars as they are able to just run past enemy operatives to perform mission actions. i think the patriarchs lack or movement and ability to use cover is going to hurt its playability. assuming that each action limit resets for each activation, it is limited to 9" total charge distance for the turning point. i think a movement restriction of 6" per activation would have been better as it would allow it to charge fight twice per turning point. i get the limit to stop it from going 18" up the board first turning point, and that gellerpox has the monster rule and still sees play
Man I’ll I want is the brood brothers and the kill termination book for lore. Guess I’ll have to wait till the book is sold in the second hand market and the brood brothers are sold separately
I have bought every kill team box this season and sold every team. roughly at about 40% of what i paid for the box each. (so far i have only wanted the books and terrain) Brood Brothers will be the first Team i keep (i play GSC) and i really easily found a buyer for the Dwarves. being the new team, and cool looking, it was pretty easy. Especially with the cards that have been included this season, its been extra easy to sell unnwanted teams since almost all their rules are on the cards. the few things that are lacking can easily be gotten online. Sell the kill team + cards and tokens for 40% of what you paid for the box. the terrain for 20% if you dont want that. keep the book and the team you want.
check the individual prices of the last couple of teams to come out, they are crazy expensive. post that you will sell the team at 40% of what you paid for the box, which will probably be around 75% the cost for the individual team when released, plus the cards and tokens which you only get from this box. and you have a pretty good chance of someone snagging that deal. the cards have made splitting KT boxes this year super easy.
Nothing special. Spray white, seraphim sepia armour, garaghaks sewer cloth, tyran blue skin. Blue water effect paste for the ice base, and valhallan blizzard for the snow on the base. About as simple as it gets!
What about movement for the Patriarch? Red/Pentagon/6" + Blue/Square/3" only leaves a Black/Triangle/1" left over for movement in a TP when the Patriarch charges, doesn't it? Or is a Charge not considered Movement?
It only spends the movement you actually travel. So yes, if you do a Charge for the whole 8 inches, then you only have 1 inch left; but if you do a shorter Charge, you have more movement left.
You only get 9" max but you can use them however you want. The sort of thing you'd want to be doing is a 4" charge into fight first activation, then say a 5" charge into fight in his second activation. It's funny to note that there are models that can easily move more than 9" in a single activation which sort of puts the Patriarch to shame. Harlequins can move around 14" if you do the charge-fight-curtainfalls-fallback combo.
I think in this case Normal move, Charge, Dash and Fall back all count towards the 9" limit, as well as traverse based on the All is Dust rule errata for WarpCoven. I think the vertical drop from Dive should not count towards the 9" limit.
I dunno if you know but i think your video got hacked! Two bros that look like they'd play something called "kill team?" Kept inputting their thoughts. Very weird TH-cam security is getting bad 😔
I don’t understand the “ambiguity” that Glass is having with the Patriarch. It very clearly states, “You can activate it twice.” Separate activations. Separate activations means you can perform shoot twice. Furthermore, the devs clearly call out that the model can’t move more than 9in. Why? Because they don’t want the Patriarch to move+dash across the board every TP. You can move+dash or charge per TP. Other actions are still on the table. He made a similar comment about Mandrakes moving through wall in ITD. That it was “ambiguous”. No, it’s very clearly stated in ITD that no one can move through walls “regardless of any other rules” and was further clarified in the FAQ like a year ago. Seems to me Glass has a habit of not reading closely and it’s this kind of stuff that stirs up drama and misconceptions in game shops.
29:28 if this is their idea of wild and crazy then their exposure to gaming in general must be pretty limited. The mind control rules are unbelievably conservative.
Great to see mountainside on the channel. Team seems fun. The faction rule is a little dull but the variety in the ops and the big patriarch make up for it I think
I think it works out because it gives you a reason to have a shitty little dudes, while your special operatives bring in the complexity
Loved the combined format. More, please!

Invasion of the GOATS

Literally the only reveal worth watching (except for the other one)
Love the crossover!

@@QuinnMLH agreed that would require clarification, as one would say that you CAN generate 0, and other that 0 isn't equal to generate anything.
Agreed. If it was *one split* activation and you couldn't repeat same actions then there would be no need to specify that move limitation (6" + 3")
Just wanted to say the grand simplification of the GOATS. Also double hello.
I could see myself getting the team box of just the brood brothers to add to my collection of genestealer cultist converted for mini agnostic stuff.

I bet there will be an errata/FAQ pretty quick to clarify how the 9" move limit interacts with the dive rule.

In fairness, if you don't want everything from a box, that's the best way to do it for every release!

Sup y’all! Good to see the GOATS! The teams look fun as heck
Yay GHF and mountainside!! My favorites
Next time colab with Tabletop Impulse? 🙏
Thanks for the video ! Fun format with the included reactions. Here's hoping next season you do it again, maybe with a different TH-cam channel ?
Lots of combos and big brain. Looks like this would take a long time to master and be quite slow to play (certainly for me!)

While I agree it is lame the familiars are just action monkeys, I think they have a lot of potential for use with ruthless coordination if used right.
C'mon man, no blue body paint?
I already developed male pattern baldness for the bit, isn't that enough!
