Everybody makes mistakes. It's understandable considering how much of a departure from the usual method it is. Sorry to say, but there's also a misread on Relentless Onslaught. Your card says it *only* works with the Magnification Conduit ability, but it's actually the other way around. From what I'm reading it apploes to all shooting *except* the MC ability (likely because MC has its own rerolls built in).
@@GlassHalfDead lol yes, whatever helps. Thanks for the great summary anyway. This KT will take some getting used to, with all its idiosyncrasies, so the video was helpful in wrapping my head around it.
@@berzebub314 took me a few tries to understand but these are the bullet points: - operatives don't reanimate by default, reanimation is an ability granted to a model on first incapacitate by another rule (plasmacyte, cryptec or tac op) - the first time, and only the first time your operative is incapacitated, if you have an ability that triggers reanimation then you put a token where the unit was. - No ability lets you reanimate early, reanimation only happens at the beginning of the turn as stated in the rule. - if you didn't trigger reanimation on first incapacitation, the unit is removed and cannot come back. - reanimated units retain the order they had when they incapacitated, can be changed as normal on activation. So players will want to keep reanimation 'auras' on their units whenever possible or pay the 1cp tac ploy (once per turn) or operative is dead
As someone who was super hyped when I saw that necrons were a part of this box, after watching your video and reading a bunch of the rules, I am very apprehensive about starting the team, which sucks because I love the necrons. It just seems like they are a slight upgrade from the compendium whereas most of the other teams that have been upgraded are far superior to them, but time will tell as people start to use them
Looking forward to playing against these guys! I mostly play AoS, but I dip into the future for some Kill Team games a couple times a month. Enjoying the game more and more!✌
I think you are underestimating the psychomancer greatly, he is a good match up against most teams, as they rely on rerolls for consistency, and treating an operative being wounded helps stack the debuts on the most important unit. Also being able to shoot, rebuff, charge and fight is a terrifying combo. Or you can spread the splash around with tesla gun, and this guy, terrifying horde teams.
My dude, abyssal lance on itd will absolutely murder horde teams. the lethal 5+ from close confines makes the splash far nastier; combine this with the fact that anyone caught in the blast will also likely be taking mortal wounds from the splashing and it gets v nasty. if you can get 3 people in it, thats an average of 5mw for each of them (assuming all are within splash range of each other. Add in the 1-2 2 damage hit/crit going through and the psychomancer can just delete groups of 7/8 wound models. Sure it may not be able to pull that off in every game, but the threat of it happening is going to be in your opponents mind all game, affecting their plays. combined with harbringer and/or nightmare and you have some v tasty board control.
I think you misunderstood what "attempts reanimation" means. It doesn't mean "roll for reanimation right now", it means "place your Reanimation token down". The quote from Reanimation Protocols ability: "... if it attempts reanimation ... place one of your Reanimation tokens ..." I.e. without a Ploy or Reanimator, your operatives are dead for good, and only if you use those do you get to try to reanimate on the next TP. Overall, I agree, they are a very weird team, but I like weird teams. After my Intercessors, I could really use something that requires some figuring out to make it work. I already have Starstriders for that, nut these guys will be a nice addition if I get to get them.
Thanks for the upload. Going to take me awhile to digest all of this mmm. Seems some what fun, definitely going to make you think more. On the despotek I’m not sure if it contains a spelling mistake on its demand ability.
I think the nanoscarab grenade might be good on a death mark for the same reason it was good on a flayed one - because the deathmark's gun is heavy it essentially doesn't have a ranged attack option on a turn where it has to move, and having a grenade solves that (for one turn at least). Annoyingly though, this doesn't solve the "can't shoot when it arrives from dimensional translocation" problem
It's very simple, but unfortunately I got it completely wrong in this video. So just ignore this video and it makes total sense, there really isn't any ambiguity to it. This is the biggest misread of rules fail I've made on this channel.
@@leemarchant6468 I make rules mistakes in most of my videos, but I'm legit embarrassed by this one as it's such a HUGE rule mistake. The team literally doesn't play anything like I said in this video. So yeah, pretty cringe, my bad.
Sadly, yes. The artist sent these to me and I didn't have time to double check them. There are many mistakes in rules let along generic typos. I only just got this recorded the day before it went live, so was under a bit of a deadline. By far my highest number of rules mistakes to date, and I shall not be repeating this process again for the next big box release, let's just say. So, my apologies! Cards look lovely though xD
Also, you have "Attempt Reamination" all wrong. You still only re-aminate at the start of the next turn, its just that you can bank a reanimation without resorting to the tac op )which now costs a CP again. Booo!). So, these teams will need to move around in little clumps, and you will need that CP in your pocket for when your cryptek dies. It also makes the technomancer a stronger choice.
@@VexedBadger I've read it now. It seems you're right and I just totally misunderstood RP and that's a big change from how I thought this team would play. I was just assuming RP from compendium came over. These are much weaker than I originally thought :/

Though with that limitation, they really could've kept the Ploy 0 CP, it may indeed end up not-so-good.
Going to skip this box and just pick up the book and Kasrkin team when they release. I play Necrons in 40k and I can easily assemble the Circle from the models I already own. Also, I already have Into the Dark so not missing out with the terrain being the same
Circle Hello! Will new patrons (or those bumping to $10 this month) get the cards? I have 75% of this team already, so I’m really having a hard time justifying buying this box instead of just buying the book off eBay & proxying a couple models.

Nip into your local GW store, see if they have issue 1 of Imperium magazine ( you know the one with the Royal Warden) most still will have, buy that for a couple of quid, use that and that leaves you with an extra body for an lmmortal. Four lmmortals, two with gauss, two with tesla and one death mark. Possibly cheating but who cares. Hope you feel better soon.
Where do you read of a way to put down reanimation tokens automatically without a ploy or "attempting reanimation"? Models without a reanimation token do not reanimate. I think you're misreading how reanimation works, and not understanding how much it revolves around plasmacythe and actions that put these tokens down. I think You're not rolling reanimation in advance, you're just making adding the model to the "I will roll for reanimation when the time comes instead of just staying dead" list.
