One strength of the Blooded is that they have amazing models and are really fun to play. So when all the best players in our group wrote them off, people like me played them anyway and kept playing them even when losing. As knowledge about how the best players played them spread there was a base of players on the forums sharing ideas.
11:23 Moroch was the fourth set released, so we had 6 box teams and 4 WD teams at the time. Would love to see more videos like this, going over teams that have been out for awhile and going over what's changed for them. Personally I think this is one of your best videos, glad your voice seems to be getting better.
They're "better" because people foolishly underestimated them when they came out. When that box released, almost everyone said phobos would be a high skill floor, good team and blooded needed a tune-up. A guaranteed hit from a blooded token results in 2.5 hits vs 2.33 from reroll ones (and is less subject to chance). Add on top of that the fact they still have 12-14 operatives, and it's surprising anyone thought they'd be bad. Middling, perhaps, but they were never bad.
Yes, Blooded tokens are better than reroll 1s but the reroll 1s is Kill Team wide whereas the auto hit is for 1 to 4 operatives basically I mean, also at that time they had to indure mass blast grenades too. No there are less blast weapons about and less vet guard players, it helps them a lot compared to on launch
Fair enough, but reroll 1s isn't effectively "on" all operatives, only on the ones you shoot with. If the blooded team has 4+ tokens out, chances are they are getting more out of them for 1 or 2 turns than vet guard are getting out of reroll 1s - though granted, the orders are more than just shooting. I'm not saying they're as good, just that people definitely judged them poorly near release (myself included). The grenade change definitely hit blooded harder than it was helped. Like you said, no spamming kraks lowered the lethality of this team by a lot. I've been saying since people were clamoring for custodes to drop to 3 apl that people are far too willing to say a team is underpowered or overpowered. You're absolutely right that the state of the meta shapes the performance of a team, perhaps blooded more than most, but that only adds to the complexity of what defines a team as balanced. I think a missed but crucial point about why they are doing better than expected is because people expected poorly.
Agree with your changes of: + 1 Blood Token from start + Access to Infiltration Tac Ops + 1 Gunner slot Would love to see their Strat ploys and Tac ploys change up a bit, but the above changes would go a long way :)
Great topic .. though would love to know the tactics that someone like Chris Bachhi plays, key synergies, roster auto takes .. so surprised to see a team that was maligned for so long start doing so well.. well done again on the vid
Had a lot of fun playing blooded in a narrative campaign. Super thematic and the Ogryn is such fun. Really agree about the poor ploys and equipment. Shame. They are high on the ‘fun to play’ table for me.
Into the Dark was an enormous buff to the Blooded. I’m worried that once we move away from the Gallowdark season, the Blooded will be back down at B-C tier unless we get some tweaking.
What operatives are competitive players not bringing out to curiosity; I have been playing around with a couple permutations and have not found one I am satisfied with yet. For example not bringing the sniper or not bringing the Ogryn on loot and salvage. It seems to me that blooded can have a widely different comp. Depending on the opponent and mission compared to other kill teams
Ma Boys and girls :D Thank you for the video :) Been playing Blooded since they came out and never thought they were bad, they all ways seemed ok to me. I found using my Blooded it was easier to beat horde than elites but that may just be me. I do love the comment against "overcharged lasguns" was "they have no way to improve accuracy" when their entire mechanic is an auto hit/crit lol. They have been doing well since they came out and the tournaments results show this but some content creators always dismissed their success because they are not popular ;) They need to apologise to my blooded team lol :p
personally I think armor plates would be better if it allowed you to re-roll one dice rather than results of 1? I love blooded, my first bespoke team but the equipment is awful!
Funny that thus vid came out right as i eas looking for a box of them. Theyre really interesting. Randomly their ops have +1 wound or 4+ save. So theyre not simple Guardsmen stat lines. I agree. Their ploys are weirdly bad. Glory kill should give Blooded token or Gaze of Gods...something. Overcharging lasguns makes no sense when only 4-5 dudes even have them. Melee dudes dont even get las pistols?

That's true, the models are really nice
I love the blooded! I’ve come 1st and 3rd at tournaments with them. Strange team to understand but when you do your rewarded
Ah nice, that's great

Yeah, got that bit mized up a bit.
Thanks, depends on how well this video does if I do more though
@@CanYouRollaCrit do more for more teams ahaha we whant moreeee ahaha
Very cool videos, love this format of going in depth on how and why a select KT's performance improved/worsened. Keep it going, great work !
Thanks, glad you liked it (:

Aha thanks but they're doing so well currently that they're unlikely to get buffed 😅🥲
@@CanYouRollaCrit Yeah. But one can always hope :P
"First bespoke Chaos"
Legionaries: "Am I a joke to you?"
Chad Chaos Guardsmen forever (forgive my mind)
Question about the blooded team- do the blooded token go at the end of each turn, or do they stay on an operative until they die?

Depends how much Season 3 changes stuff with it's setting. Definitely a future worry though
Would be great to hear from Chris how best to pilot them!
I could do a podcast on that 🤔
Nice overview. Got 2 Blooded boxes here. Have to build them.
Oooh very nice

It actually varies depending on the match up, they don't have a lot of auto-include operatives imo

Is the answer, "cause Chris Bacchi played them"?
That might be a large answer 👀
You know it's professional with the misspelling of "professional" in the opening slide 😂

My biggest "you don't know this move" moment is when I used the vet guard mine trick on my brother and killed two of his Chaos Marines.

That'd be good. I think equipment as a whole needs an overhaul tbh

Yeah they're an odd little team, it's weirdly nice how they've turned out currently
Who in the data cards is the guards man ? Is it the gunner ? Please help
?
@CanYouRollaCrit because you said 2 bring 2 guardsmen but idk who that it
Does anyone know if this kill team is Out of print? They're out of stock everywhere and eBay is ludicrous.
They're in stock on the UK GW store?
@@CanYouRollaCrit Nani!?
@@CanYouRollaCrit Ah, they're not in stock for peasants in the USA. I'll wait for stock instead of getting bent over.
