    Which faction would you like the next DEEP DIVE to be of?
    Minor addendums: Firestorm only has a 1" blast NOT 2". And at the end I am saying Fate Discipline when I mean TEMPYRIC Discipline. Literally no idea where I got fate discipline from. I'll stay off the pipe next time, sorry!

      Blooded, pathfinders or Hunter Clade trying to build all three of these teams and as someone totally new to Warhammer and kill team this is the kind of video I was looking for.

    A niche tip for Tzaangors and the Savage Herd strategic ploy
    It happens to be very annoying for any fellgors you fight because their ability to not die unless crit gets basically tossed in the trash and it becomes a whole new match

    Perfect timing, taking my Warp Coven to our RTT tmrw. It was between that and Chaos Daemons (I like an uphill battle) and this is the anti-pep talk I needed before the day. 😂 Love ya Glass.

    Great video Glass! Just wanted to mention on the 'no defenses' thing, they do all have 5++ saves and the Rubrics save on a 2+ Vs anything that does Bolter damage or less

    I've been playing them on the regular since they came out. Lovely team, very rewarding when your schemes pan out.
    What might be understated here is the importance of Ephemeral instability. In the first two turns it's a near auto cast. It messes with opponent's plans and also just annoys in a way that increases the mental load on your opponent. I've actually had quite some use from the healing spell and fluxblast is just great, making Tempyric the discipline you could consider doubling up on.

    • @HAMalte
      @HAMalte ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed. The healing is also very helpful with 3 of the 4 tac ops that make sense to take for warpcoven: Secure center line, Central control and escort operative. You need to keep stuff alive! Getting 2d3 heal every turn, can make or break your tac ops.

    Great video, love all the info here. I’d been thinking of an Inquisitorial Warp Coven proxy team (who among us has not?), but your idea for some Wraithguards led by a few Eldar psykers is absolutely rad. Wish I had time to whip that conversion project up before LVO!

    Great video Glass, ty ! :)
    I might add that your jumping back in forward really got better recently!
    It still came up a few times though. Like when you talked about the different loadouts for open and itd before the listeners had any idea what loadouts were possible. Or when you started talking about noon, then suddenly said “it’s all about the rubric command ability” out of nowhere and then picked up the boon topic again. I know my way around Warpcoven so it wasn’t too bad for me, but a real faction beginner might find that hard to follow. But again: big improvement compared to earlier videos 😊
    Keep it up!

    Wanted to say I’ve been looking forward to this deep dive for a while! Huge fan of WC!
    Agree with most of your takes, they have fairly strong shooting - especially w/ the rubric changes.
    But I can’t agree with the low defense. 2+ save on all 3/4 weapons w/ Rubrics is fairly tanky. And sorcerers have healing + defensive boons to boost their survivability.
    Look forward to seeing the breakdown with the other player too!

    Is one of our Ploys - Schemes of Change - useless now? Just picked these guys up and it doesn't seem like we have many good ploy options

    • @GlassHalfDead
      @GlassHalfDead  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is something that I eprsonally wouldn't even put the brainpower towards remembering it's a ploy. I'm sure there's some niche situation where it works, but as mentioned in the video, this is a CP hungry team, and spending a CP to swap ploys could be what loses you a vital ability later in the game.

  • @ShockinglyLiterate
    @ShockinglyLiterate ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you for the guide!! Really makes them feel more manageable for a beginner. Since you suggest playing basic with a 6 model team, locking us into the Security archetype, do you have any suggestions for which Security tac ops are best to take for this team after the updates to the tac ops cards a few months back?

  • @DMDoherty1
    @DMDoherty1 ปีที่แล้ว

    Also I have several friends who like to play and we do the 3 and 4 player missions. If you have thoughts on starts and how to approach those games tactically I'd like to hear your thoughts.

    • @Dracodomin
      @Dracodomin ปีที่แล้ว

      There are a few 3/4 player missions in the Annual. I think the best way to play them is for each person to have 1 tac op, or something I want to try is to pick 3 or 4 that everyone can complete. Without tac ops at all, I feel like it is a little too simple in terms of objectives, but still fun. Teams that can’t rush objectives fall apart without tac ops though.

  • @ericmartz7125
    @ericmartz7125 ปีที่แล้ว

    For open terrain, can Warp Portal place the warped operative through walls? Is it counted as traversing or does the operative just has to be 6 inches base to base. I know in ITD you can't go through walls, this is just for open play.

  • @FireDemon11
    @FireDemon11 ปีที่แล้ว

    25:00 How does warp portal give my rubric a 12" move? I thought the rubric couldn't use actions that involve moving after this is used on them. Still 9" is still far better than 6", but I also believe you still need to measure diagonally when placing them on vantage points (I couldn't potentially but wrong on that though).

    • @RieksVisser
      @RieksVisser ปีที่แล้ว +1

      9" is how I've played it. Technically you can measure from the edge of the sorcerer's base, potentially making it roughly 10" when teleporting to opposite sides. I have always measured it 2d / like fly. Seems realistic for a teleport.

    • @FireDemon11
      @FireDemon11 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@RieksVisser Yeah since it's a teleport, I would assume I could measure it like a fly, but I've seen some videos/sources say you still need to measure it in 3D.

  • @ObsceneSuperMatt
    @ObsceneSuperMatt ปีที่แล้ว

    Exalted Astartes is a strategic ploy not tactical?

  • @HAMalte
    @HAMalte ปีที่แล้ว

    A couple of disagreements. Gunner is the last rubric you let go. Icon is okay, but losing the 6 attack ap1 weapon is too harsh. It only gives 1 free psychic action, and as a melee/pistol character, I often don't need the 4th action. I can always get a free dash for 1 cp.
    Firestorm is a trap. It only have blast 1, and the damage and accuracy is too low. I usually average 2 damage on a single model. Usually your opponent tries to avoid blast 2, since fluxblast on a flying sorcerer wrecks on open boards, which in turn gives you a bad frag grenade. It is trash on into the dark, since it effectively loses indirect.
    Tzaangors are mandatory for every match up, especially with the new critical ops. 3 marines are simply too slow, to do the mission.

    • @aleczandergordon1298
      @aleczandergordon1298 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@metalpatriot22 use the Tzaangors with full melee because relentless is really good. Take the icon one when the mission needs it. The champion with the axe is great as it can fight twice.
      I take 8 tzaangors when I play againt Vet guard or blooded or even path finders tbh.

  • @voltdriver4101
    @voltdriver4101 ปีที่แล้ว

    So let's say I'd use only two sorcerers or just one sorcerer and the rest are rubrics. How much weaker would that be?

    • @teejay1646
      @teejay1646 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hugely. Rubrics are generally a strict downgrade from sorcerers and the worse a ratio of rubricae to sorcerers the more the rubrics get punished by their limited movement rule
