The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4Matic Is A Posh & Pricey Luxury Family SUV

  • It's been nearly 20 years since #MercedesBenz first introduced its biggest SUV ever, the #GLSClass, for 2024, the #MercedesBenzGLS450 gets some big upgrades in tech and power, along with a slight tweak to the exterior design. The #GLS450 represents the base engine, but it still uses a potent 3.0L Turbo I-6 with a 48-volt mild hybrid system. The #MercedesGLS is still one of the best options for a 3-row family SUV for those that have deep pockets, just be prepared to pay for that 3-pointed star badge.

Great review!!! I have watched of other reviews of the 450 GLS and you are the only reviewer who knows what are options, what comes with option and how much options cost. German cars have tons of options and how you choose them makes a big difference in the car and price. Thanks for sharing your awesome knowledge and opinions.

Just purchased one with every feature but the acoustic package and Burmeister 4d package. Severely underrated vehicle, extremely comfy, roomy and the air suspension is one of a kind smooth. This is a perfect daily driver and the engine is surprisingly potent for what the numbers say. I will say though if Mercedes went a similar route like BMW did with the hybrid x5. This should’ve gotten a hybrid powertrain with about 50 miles of ev range. That would make this damn perfect, even with about 400-450 hp and 500 tq

Mercedes have gotten lazier with their designs. This just looks like a bigger GLE which in turn looks like a bigger GLC. The inside looks identical to the GLE.

Now this has more of a presence to compete head to head with the Cadillac Escalade but still not quite as menacing or extravagant on the exterior and the then Mercedes kinda has the edge on the interior at least in the backseat in my opinion. Cadillac, Mercedes, and Range Rover have this segment on lock as far as I’m concerned. Everyone wants to design their own offerings after these 3. Cadillac is rubbing off on everyone heavily though. Range Rover has even ditched their iconic square taillights for the Escalade’s signature vertically LED setup. I thought that was amazing that they made such a huge change, Tata Motors must’ve really liked the 2021 Escalade redesign.
I’m excited to see what the 2025 Cadillac Escalade refresh will bring. How much of it will be brought over from the Escalade _IQ._ Again, this GLS and the Escalade are my only real picks in this segment.

Why does Sofyan always complain about only having two seats in the third row? Since he doesn’t have kids maybe he should consult with someone who does, as 3 seats in the third row is actually pretty impractical (except for full size Yukons, Expeditions, etc). In this size vehicle, you can’t fit 3 adults in the third row, you can’t fit 3 car seats/ boosters in the third row, so best case is you’re looking at cramming three 8-12 years olds back there.
