@@AR-rs2dy before like 5 years my ex-boss had 2 RR's, brand new from the dealer. The problems started ariving like half a year later since he got the SUV's. Mostly electrical problems. And it's like we send the vechicles back to the delaer to fix the issues, they do it and after like 2 months something pops up again. Reliability is no the word i'll use in 1 sentence with RR's these days.
I feel like the three host model just allows for so many more shenanigans and hijinks. I'd love to see Thomas and James find a kindred spirit to complete the thruple.
Ok but I actually feel Thomas’s pain in the Range Rover. My mom owns a 2020, and the rear cargo cover ALWAYS rattles and it drives me insane and my parents are like “I don’t hear anything.” 😑
Tucking the side window seals under the door sill was a great design choice for the Range Rover. Hope you keep nerding out on this stuff, I always felt like the details make the car.
I would pick the Range just based on looks alone, whenever I see one on the road I'm just in awe at how sophisticated it looks, the design is on another level.
The Range Rover will always be the OG luxury SUV, it has defined the luxury SUV class since the 1970's. There's no beating it. The car feels like it would fit right in with the likes of the Bentayga and Cullinan (but half the price).

The X7's wireless charger is pretty hard to use, you have to align it properly. I suggest laying it not all the way back, your phone has to be almost against the light. Hope this helps!
Exactly this, if I were to add anything it would be that if you belong those that want to put a nice case on your shiny phone and still want to use the X7's wireless charger you can just forget it, anything thicker than a screen protector moves the phone too far away to be able to take the charge... At least both the GLS and the Range Rover ones work far better.
That lineup is basically the equivalent of a 90s W140 S Class, E38 7, and X300 XJ for the modern market. I realize the S and 7 are still in production but these are largely appealing to the crowd that bought those new in period
This is completely wrong review. Try GLS 450 2019 version. You love it than any one. Range Rover give HSE is smoothest riding with air suspension. BMW X7 is very good in sport mode and car had great control with M Brakes. Over all Range Rover is best. For 7 passenger comfort buy 2019 GLS450

We are on our 5th GLS since 2008. (Current model is the GLS 580.) Totally reliable. So many Range Rovers spend far too much time at the shop. I stick with my choice.

I think I would actually perfer the X7 with chrome accents and some nice silver wheels. Blue and sliver just go so perfectly together and the blacked-out look was played-out four years ago.
3db difference is very significant tho. 62db is double as loud as 59db. This is definitely not a tool’s fault. Its like saying that your thermometre accidentaly measures 200 degrees instead of 100.
There's a huge difference between doubling the sound intensity/power and doubling the perceived loudness. They are not linear. The human perceived difference, which is what matters, would be modest, not double.
The blackened grill on the X7 makes it look good. The Range Rover looks better than all but I would pick the X7 because I like the engagement of the drive.
i really don't know what's going on with mercedes, i've always been a fan but its getting harder to ignore the bs, it almost feels like they are actively trying to make their cars worse, the GLS is a naturally beautiful car its hard to make it look bad, it would honestly take more effort to make the car look bad than to enhance its beauty with a face lift but somehow they managed to make it look older and alot less desirable than the previous gen
This is a rare moment where I’ve been in all 3 of the vehicles tested (technically an Alpina X7). I prefer the Range Rover most out of the 3. It feels the most unique, the most special to drive. All the little changes from traditional layouts stood out pleasantly. Ride wise its also the one that felt “special”. Like blindfolded the others were just cars while RR was noticeable
Looking at them inside and out it's not even close. I'm surprised James was hedging as much as he was. This Mercedes looks like an NPC wife/mom car. And he nailed it saying it doesn't look the price. The BMW is gaudy and awful. Lights in the speaker drivers? Tasteless IMO.

Cheers to the Range Rover! I plan to order my P530 in March as it’ll deliver in 2026. I’ll continue loving my Defender till it arrives! The RR is second to none! Only the Cullinan surpasses it but that’s in a class all alone.

Otherwise the ride on 23's is amazing compared to my previous truck on 22's. My 2 local dealerships were asking ridiculous mark ups and wait times , so I went to the next state via a referral and ordered and received it within 6 months.
In order them, car wow, savage geese, doug demuro, and then motor trend is who I trust the most when it comes to car review companies that post videos reviewing cars. Doug demuro is the lowest because there’s been times he’s reviewed cars and given them ratings that didn’t correlate with the majority of the comments he had of it doing the review

I have the 2023 X7 40i and to me what bugs me is the climate control settings. The 24’ version looks easier to work with. But regardless it’s a very good suv and enjoy driving it. the b58 motor really shines on it

Land Rover maintainance and warranty are always included (4 years), doesn't matter the payment method.(atleast for whole europe) If they scam Americans by not including free maintanance then good job Land Rover. If it breaks down during a lease without warranty you still pay for the repairs. And you pay for maintanance obviously. If that's free with leasing then therefore they just charge you more per month to compensate lmao. Before you come at me, that's how things work in Europe, would be a wonder if not overseas.

The lease works for me as it’s a business deduction (6000 lbs gross weight), for 36 months everything including maintenance is taken care of and I can get rid of it after that time. Also, my lease I put 0 down .. only inception and other govt fees. Money factor is good.
I have been shopping for a new car and all 3 of these are on my list and after test driving them right now the Range Rover Sport is actually my current favorite, I liked it much better than the full size Range Rover. That's my recommendation to anyone. Just ignore the reliability issues. LOL

I have the new 7-series and it shares the same charger as the X-7 and I noticed that the charging issue usually happens to only Apple phones. I have a Samsung and it works as it's supposed to. I'm curious as to the phone they used to test.
Covering most important points is legemdry step. 1.Sitting and feeling high. 2.High bonnet feeling 3.Ride quality. 4.Comfort Etc never miss these type of things legends.
cabin noise measured on empty road depends largely on tyres (size and quality). I'd measure it on a busy street/highway, to see how insulated from external non-tyre noises the cars are
Another great video! I love how much fun you guys seem to have. I really appreciate the amount of design restraint and editing it takes to create the Range Rover aesthetic. It actually seems pretty gutsy to have a minimalist design, because every problem will stick out like a sore thumb. BTW, that Range Rover car was actually pretty cool looking. AI is pretty incredible.
I have the same spec on the X7 except with the Tartufo merino seats. Couldn't pull the trigger on the Range because of reliability issues and the GLS gave off old man vibes. Also Thomas, great Tudor!

Excellent as ever, you should test them against the Kia EV9 just for a laugh. Just as fast, really nice interior, and hopefully no breaking down, overheating, cooking things!
Obviously the Kia isn’t a fair comparison, but I feel like EV is perfectly suited to this type of car. They already weigh three tonnes, you don’t really care how they corner or off road, and you want them to be quiet, refined, and fast as hell in a straight line. An EV Range Rover would be an absolute weapon in the land yacht wars.
Ironically I was thinking about choosing the SQ7 either way. Yes its smaller than the X7 and GLS with a much less usable third row, but it also weighs 500lbs less than the next closest competitor with turbo v8s and costs just 90K starting.
We got ceramic brakes & sport differential on the SQ7 and I'm 100% sure it's lighter than the US specs (in Europe sunroof, third row and other stuff isnt standard). The car ride and handle so well, basically like a cayenne turbo on discount.

the issue with the Range Rover is once you spec it out to an equivalent x7 you can get an X7 AND an M340 for the price of the Range Rover
And you can't take advantage of the depreciation and buy a used one because of the reliability.

Just got the X7 2024 and definitely love it
Reliability issues aside, the RRover has 10x more "I'm Rich" projection than the others. And it looks good. It's sublime.
My 0.02$ pick will be a Porsche Macan or the SQ7. Overall quality, Ride experience and value for the $$$
The Macan is much smaller than any of these choices. You'd be better choosing a Cayenne instead.

@@Reko_89 So far so good! had to bring it in for service for 1 day for several module updates which cleared a communications error engine light code. Otherwise the ride on 23's is amazing compared to my previous truck on 22's. My 2 local dealerships were asking ridiculous mark ups and wait times , so I went to the next state via a referral and ordered and received it within 6 months.

In order them, car wow, savage geese, doug demuro, and then motor trend is who I trust the most when it comes to car review companies that post videos reviewing cars. Doug demuro is the lowest because there’s been times he’s reviewed cars and given them ratings that didn’t correlate with the majority of the comments he had of it doing the review

I have the 2023 X7 40i and to me what bugs me is the climate control settings. The 24’ version looks easier to work with. But regardless it’s a very good suv and enjoy driving it. the b58 motor really shines on it
You should get the new iDrive via over-the-air upgrade as far as I know. At least my

The conclusion I walk away from almost every car video is “just get a Porsche”
RR is the best I have driven all this cars and owned them for years, But RR is the car I always want to drive .
I'd lease the Range Rover... though the X7 is great the front end disqualifies it for me.
I'd buy it. Only own a car if it's paid off.

Land Rover maintainance and warranty are always included (4 years), doesn't matter the payment method.(atleast for whole europe)
If they scam Americans by not including free maintanance then good job Land Rover.
A lease means you pay more due to interest, period. There are no benefits you just wanna get rid off it after a certain time without bothering selling it.
If it breaks down during a lease without warranty you still pay for the repairs.
And you pay for maintanance obviously. If that's free with leasing then therefore they just charge you more per month to compensate lmao.
Before you come at me, that's how things work in Europe, would be a wonder if not overseas.

The lease works for me as it’s a business deduction (6000 lbs gross weight), for 36 months everything including maintenance is taken care of and I can get rid of it after that time. Also, my lease I put 0 down .. only inception and other govt fees. Money factor is good.

I have been shopping for a new car and all 3 of these are on my list and after test driving them right now the Range Rover Sport is actually my current favorite, I liked it much better than the full size Range Rover. That's my recommendation to anyone. Just ignore the reliability issues. LOL
lol sport ugly, precious gen was much better. Got the full size cause sport was no different looking than the Velar

I’m still going with the X7. I just love the look compared to the 3 much more sporty which I like.
I have the new 7-series and it shares the same charger as the X-7 and I noticed that the charging issue usually happens to only Apple phones. I have a Samsung and it works as it's supposed to. I'm curious as to the phone they used to test.

cabin noise measured on empty road depends largely on tyres (size and quality). I'd measure it on a busy street/highway, to see how insulated from external non-tyre noises the cars are

I really appreciate the amount of design restraint and editing it takes to create the Range Rover aesthetic. It actually seems pretty gutsy to have a minimalist design, because every problem will stick out like a sore thumb. BTW, that Range Rover car was actually pretty cool looking. AI is pretty incredible.

I have the same spec on the X7 except with the Tartufo merino seats. Couldn't pull the trigger on the Range because of reliability issues and the GLS gave off old man vibes. Also Thomas, great Tudor!

@@samsharma9207 i hear what your saying, but ultimatley i say dont be fooled by everything the internet says. i own a 2019 bmw x3 and it has literally been giving me NONSTOP issues wheras i have many friends who have ranges who say apart from basic servicing, has been more than happy with. Ultimatley, yeah you probably would need warranty with whichever car you go for, these arnt lexuses haha

Excellent as ever, you should test them against the Kia EV9 just for a laugh. Just as fast, really nice interior, and hopefully no breaking down, overheating, cooking things!
Obviously the Kia isn’t a fair comparison, but I feel like EV is perfectly suited to this type of car.
They already weigh three tonnes, you don’t really care how they corner or off road, and you want them to be quiet, refined, and fast as hell in a straight line.
An EV Range Rover would be an absolute weapon in the land yacht wars.

Ironically I was thinking about choosing the SQ7 either way. Yes its smaller than the X7 and GLS with a much less usable third row, but it also weighs 500lbs less than the next closest competitor with turbo v8s and costs just 90K starting.
We got ceramic brakes & sport differential on the SQ7 and I'm 100% sure it's lighter than the US specs (in Europe sunroof, third row and other stuff isnt standard).
The car ride and handle so well, basically like a cayenne turbo on discount.
I think you should add lexus lx on mix. Must be fun.

For the comparaison test of DB and acceleration, I think the tires are very important and the X7 seems like winter tires on it.
