I can RELATE with true repentance ! 14 years ago God Miraculously Delivered me from Drugs, Alcohol, Porn, lying, stealing ect through the Blood of Jesus Christ!The road hasn’t been easy but God has been right there every step. Repentance isn’t only the change of mind toward sin but also changing ones mind from trying to earn salvation by the works of the law to believing that Jesus died for your sins.

This is a flat out lie. Repent (metanoia) literally means to change your mind or to reconsider. There is NOTHING in the definition that would even remotely suggest an act of any kind.
Jesus came to me in a dream and told me to tell everyone to Repent and that he is coming.. in the dream I said to him “how do I tell everyone when I don’t know everyone”!? When I woke up I asked myself “what is repent” then I had to look it up... anyway everyone needs to REPENT! 🙏

Saving repentance is realizing that you are a sinner deserving of God's just punishment in Hell and turn (repent) from whatever you trusted in before, if indeed you trusted in anything; to trusting in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation.

The true meaning of repentance is a change in the mind. Jesus did not have anything to repent, he never sinned. And when Peter talked about repentance, he was addressing the Jews, those who crucified Christ Jesus, those who attended the Crucifixion : Repent or change your mind as far as Christ Jesus is concerned
The sinner wants to know: have you (Repented) stopped all your sinning? Otherwise, people will have to start explaining WHAT repenting really is.

That’s not how it works. You just said ONCE SOMEONE IS SAVED. Repentance is not something you do after you get saved. Repentance literally means “change of mind”. When you go from being a non-believer to a believer, you’ve repented. Repent and salvation are two sides of the same coin. To repent is to have a change of mind about sin, the savior, and salvation.
Repenting is not stopping sinning. If it were, none of us would go to heaven. It’s not about what we do, it’s about what Jesus did. We just accept the free gift.
@@philmcrackinnow yes that is the pre saved meaning (change of mind). but jesus told people to stop sinning and other verses talk about stop sinning. yes its impossible but the bible encourages believers to not sin.

So many Christians these days only ask for forgiveness but do not truly repent and then they wonder why they’re having such a hard time deepening their faith and why their prayers aren’t being answered! Not judging anyone, I’ve seen it in others’ lives and I’ve dealt with it myself. My pastor says to repent is to ask for forgiveness and turn 180 degrees away from that sin.
This is good stuff, Emma. I don't think there are enough practical lessons on repentance out there. Many only gloss over the topic or use the word as a weapon.

dont be fooled by these works based salvations, you cannot be saved by your repentance of sin. You will never stop sinning until you die, if Paul could not perfectly repent how will you?? Repentance is serving the law of God with the mind, because that is all we are capable of doing. If your salvation depends on your righteousness, you will never be saved, because you will never attain to the righteousness of Jesus Christ.
Romans 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.

Repentance gets a bad rap... thanks for bringing some clarity!
I've always found these three pictures helpful in my understanding.
1. Repentance means to do a u-turn
2. Repentance means to plead guilty
3. Repentance means to accept the invitation
Essentially to repent means to admit you were wrong, change your way of life, and live as a citizen of heaven. It's more about actions we take, not the words we say.

We really are on the same page sir. It is the most controversial topic and term among Christians nowadays. Misinterpreting repentance to works. For me as additional, repentance is realization of one's fault and wanting to make it right. True repentance leads to genuine faith to the Saviour thus "Genuine Salvation".

It is sarcasm, because many people outside are so emotional or exaggerated when it comes to preaching repent or repentance. Where as it is as simple as "change our mind".

I have a question. So there are certain sins that I struggle with, for example, getting angry, sinful thoughts, etc. So if I committed one of these sins and apologized to God and tried not to commit the sin again, but I fall into the same sin over and over, does that mean I am not truly repenting? I know these things are wrong, and I don’t want to do them, but I keep falling into these sins and I am really struggling. Am I truly repenting? Please help. God bless! 🙏🏼
Isaac, you should be able to rest better knowing that anger is not a sin. Think about it, even God gets angry. Christ also showed anger when he flipped the tables over. If anger was a sin, then that would mean God and Christ sinned. Now we know thats not the case. You can be angry, but its not your anger that is sin, its what you do with that anger that can be the sin.

Also, "sinful thoughts?" That depends on what you mean. Lusting, while its in your mind, is not a sinful thought, its a sinful action. You're lusting, which is occurring in the mind which could likely lead to physical sinful actions. But if you mean sinful thoughts as in tempted to sin, then no, that is not sin either. Read the book of James to get a clear understanding of what sin is and how it works. Temptation is not sin. If it was then that would be saying Christ sinned, because as scripture shows us, Christ was also tempted. So our "sinful thoughts" are not sin, they are called temptations. It is sin when you "give into" those temptations and therefore commit the sin that you thought to do. I can be tempted to lie to cover something up, but if I don't give into that temptation to lie, then I did not sin. Its about choosing righteousness over unrighteousness in everything you do. As scripture shows, Adam gained the knowledge of good and evil when he ate the fruit. We too have that knowledge of right from wrong. Just because we think of something wrong to do does not make us sinful unless we carry out the sinful thought in action. Hope this helps you.

Good video! In Matthew 3:2 it is actually John the Baptist (not Jesus) who says "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near." But Jesus does say the same thing in Matthew 4:17. Also, the video contains a photo of the New World Translation Bible. Do you use that Bible version?

He almost had it with the nail biting analogy. I would say repentance of biting your nails would be like knowing your nails are filthy and disgusting and you shouldnt put them in your mouth even though you may still slip every once in awhile. When you catch yourself after you attain the truth... your like "oh yeah, I shouldnt do that because..." When we go from unbelief to belief in Jesus and his finished works... when we catch ourselves sinning, we should say "oh yeah, I shouldnt sin because of what God has done for me". A better one is like if your parents gave you a brand new shiny car... you wouldnt want to trash the car because you value it and you would want to show gratitude towards your parents for giving you the gift... not that you have to maintain your ownership of the car. If you happen to trash it, your parents would probably be disapointed.

You can REPENT from good or from evil.
Moving away free from errors takes awareness and courageous- hopefully we learn. Human beings- on news you hearing of sad of unlearned lessons- younger better- this is goodness of REPENTANCE vs retribution otherwise could2 happen - go run a stop sign when a cop sees - tickets! I always get confused as there are several meanings, repent is an admission of guilt, sorry or show remorse.
So we own our sin, God I am a sinner, please forgive me of my sin and I have faith that you are my Lord and Saviour and I accept your gift of eternal life.
That is how I see it with the above meaning used in this way.

Yes, the bible can be confusing when it is not studied the way God says to - rightly divided. II Tim 2:15
SALVATION:
To clarify the gospel of our salvation: Our gospel that saves us today is to believe that Jesus died on the cross, shedding His blood, was buried and rose from the dead for the forgiveness of our sins. I Cor 15:1-4. That's step one. Step two: We must put our trust in this gospel for the forgiveness of our sins and nothing else, to be saved. It's that simple. Jesus did the work necessary for our salvation. We cannot. Paul puts it this way:
Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
True salvation only comes when we believe that Jesus is our ALL SUFFICENT SAVIOR. We cannot add anything to His blood shed and work of salvation on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins.
We are not saved by repenting (turning from sin), being baptized in water, walking an aisle, saying a prayer, confessing with your mouth, being “born again”, or following Jesus’ earthly ministry. Those are mostly "works" salvation. We are saved by grace, not works (Rom 11:6), through faith alone, in Christ work on the cross. It is a gift 100%.
Rom 3:24 KJV Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Titus 3:5-6, I Cor 15:1-4
Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
He came to save sinners, not people trying to make themselves righteous by doing some kind of good work, getting wet or turning from their sins, they cannot do totally anyway.
Simply believe and put your trust in the new gospel Jesus gave to Paul for us today to be saved by. Then start reading Rom - Phil to understand what was written to us the body of Christ, so we could know what God wants from us and who we are in Christ, once we are saved. The books Paul wrote are the only place we find the gospel that saves us today. Then read the rest of your bible that is FOR us but not TO and ABOUT us. 94% of the bible is TO and ABOUT Israel, yes Israel. Don’t steal their mail and try to make it yours. And don’t be fooled by people who tell you, you need to do some good work to be saved or to stay saved or to prove that you are saved. That is not the gospel for us today which is a free gift of GRACE when we believe and trust in what Jesus did on the cross for our sins.

I can’t believe how many TH-camrs are asserting that repentance is not required for salvation. This is a sign of the times. What they are invariably saying is you’re making me uncomfortable but I like my lifestyle too much but still want to hang on to Jesus. You cannot serve two masters, you will live one and hate the other. Repentance was always necessary and will always be required as long as we live on planet earth. This idea that this is not a requirement is a ‘new revelation’ or idea. Don’t fall foul of false teachers, true belief requires action!

The work of the Law of Moses is to help you recognize sins that the Lord God forbids you to do. Every commandment you trespass in the Law of Moses is called sin. The fruits of sin are iniquities. They blind your eyes, mind, and heart and your understanding will become perverse; You will call good evil and evil good. You will committ more sins without realizing it. Sins place you far from the Lord God and Lord Jesus. If you are the child of God, He will send calamities to you to cleanse, humble and help you repent. The words of God said only humble are saved by grace. If you are not His child, calamities will only destroy you for transgressing the Law of Moses.
The work of the blood of Lord Jesus is to forgive you from sinning against the Law of the Holy Father and to wash you from iniquities. But if you continue to disobey the Law of Moses, iniquities will continue to flow into your heart. To stop iniquities from flowing into your heart, you need to come back into obeying the Law of Moses.
Before the Lord Jesus revealed to me I am one of the children of Zion, I was also a Christian. I was taught that Christians are free from the Law of Moses. Lord Jesus taugth me it is a perverse teaching. Paul meant of free from the Law of Moses, you are no longer sinning against it. He also said without the Law of Moses, he would not know that covetousness is a sin "You shall not covet."

The Law of Moses is the foundation of the ways, righteousness, holiness, and judgment of the Holy Father. It is the way of life in Heaven and for by them everlasting life in Heaven continue to flow forever. It is the way of life and the foundation of the teaching of Lord Jesus. You cannot abolish, disobey or neglect the teaching of it. It is the cause of all calamities to come and destroy lives for rejecting it.

You don't need to ask or search for his law. It is in you, its in all of us. We instinctively know its wrong to murder, lie, etc. It comes down to will we abide by it and do what we know is right or disobey and do what we know is wrong. Consider Romans 2...

@@jvolstad ironically it is your church elder that is wrong here. I would remind such people that Christ turned water into wine so people could drink it. If it was a sin to drink alcohol, then why would Christ turn water into wine at the wedding? Drinking is not a sin, which is why no one can find in the bible that it actually says drinking is a sin. What the bible does say is that we should not be drunk, not that it is a sin but because you are more prone to sin while in a drunken state. Its like those who say its a sin to eat unclean animals. God had a number of laws, some of them were not related to sin. They were related to health, and other various reasons. These carnal commands that we see in the bible are not related to sin. Such as we shouldn't wear mixed fabric, etc.

No one "completely changes". The Bible says if you think you are without sin you call God a liar. It also says if you violate just one of His laws you violate them *all* . That means if you even occasionally make a mistake you are violating all of God's laws and have not changed completely. You might be better than you were, but you clearly have not made a "complete change". Things like this add confusion upon confusion for people who honestly know they still sin. We are told "you don't have to be good enough for God" and "you don't earn your way to heaven by being good" while simultaneously being told "you'd better completely change and be good enough or you are going to hell".
I've yet to encounter someone both willing and able to explain this.

So you're saying I need to be "good enough" and "sorry enough", and anyone who says anything else will burn in hell. Well, the same people who say what you just did say you don't have to earn God's forgiveness. The same people say you don't get forgiveness by following the law.
How do you know you're truly sorry enough? How do you know you aren't just telling yourself you're sorry? The Bible says the heart is deceptive above all things. You very likely could just be convincing yourself you're so so sorry when you aren't.
Furthermore, and most importantly, I've yet to see someone who claims, as you did, that you "have to be sorry enough", explain what to do about sins you didn't realize you committed. Don't tell me you'll always know. I don't mean you didn't realize it was a sin, I mean what if you didn't realize you had committed a sin. (Yes it's possible).
Or what if you committed a sin and instantly got hit by a truck? You've been christian your entire life, always repent every time you sin, (when you realized you needed to) but didn't have time to develop "Godly sorrow" and be "sorry enough"?

Each side of "lordship salvation" vs "free grace salvation" says the other isn't following scripture, gives verses that seem to back up what they are saying, then says the other side will burn in hell for not believing the correct interpretation of the bible.

This is easily explained, it is obviously wrong! Salvation is a spiritual work, it is not in man's power, it is a work of the Holy Spirit. But there is a way of entrance, it is called the narrow way! Why is it narrow? Because it is in direct opposition to Self! What is sin but the spirit of selfishness! This is the poison that is in the heart of man. This is why we must be born again of the Holy Spirit because there is no cure for self! Death is the only answer. Who has ever cured himself? Sin is the manifestation of this spirit! How then are we to be free? Well, there must be a death, we must be willing to put self to death before we can experience a new life! Jesus said, unless you hate your very self you cannot be my disciple! What is it to hate? It is to act against, read 2Cor7:10-11 see the seven attributes of a repentance that cannot be repented of. We must start by putting the old life to death by exposing it and making a good confession in public just as David did when he was confronted with the Prophet, calling on the Lord for forgiveness 1Jn1:9 we must be cleansed of all unrighteousness before we can walk with the Holy Spirit. How will we maintain our walk? He will keep us from falling!

I have a video called "Street Evangelism" that you should check out. It's an old one, but I go out and interview street evangelists.
A full change in direction and action? And you refer to John Piper? This is obviously works that you are preaching for salvation. Repenting for salvation means you need to change what you are believing/trusting in to get you to heaven. By your own admittance, you are trusting in works of repentance rather than in Jesus. According to Romans 11:6, you either get saved by grace or by work. You can't have it both ways, you've been decieved. God repents more than anyone in the bible(authorized bible that is) and he has no sin to turn from, therefore it simply means to change mind - and context will always flex it depending on the subject.

We are ALL sinners that fall short of the glory of God. And we ALL are deserving of eternal punishment in hell because sin is so serious (it’s the cause of all pain, death, and suffering). And that’s why Jesus willingly died on the cross for all our sins and rose from the dead three days later! That we may have eternal life with Him if we repent (to change your mind about Jesus, that Jesus Christ is the Lord our God) and trust in Him (that He will save us ONLY because of what He did on the cross, we are saved by grace through faith)! I don’t think this comes anywhere close! There is a great amnesia on this subject. Peter, who you quoted got his understanding from the old testament. There was a sin offering once a year, the person bringing the offering would place their hand on the head of the creature to be slaughtered and confess their sins over it in the hearing of others, taking full responsibility for their actions! Yes there is a 180 turn but this was witnessed and actions followed in full view! This is the first confession for the forgiveness of sins! There is a repentance that cannot be repented of 2 Cr 7:19-11. If you hide your sin you cannot be forgiven, this is an obvious truth! It is what Job accused Adam of when he said, did I hide my iniquity in my heart as Adam! If you cover a sin you are agreeing with it and it’s power will remain in your life, you will never be free! If you take it to the grave it will torment you there in hell, yes you have excluded yourself from heaven. We must make a good confession and wash them away in baptism! If you are still struggling it is because you never came clean with a full and proper confession. The church is leading millions to hell because of this error! 1Jn 1:8 If, If, If, we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness! I do not understand how you can give an Arminian definition of repent and then quote a Calvinist? Arminius taught salvation FROM sin, but Piper, McArthur, Washer and Spurgeon et. al. teach a false gospel that we can be saved IN our sins.

Scripture describes the very act of repentance as: If after much consideration you make the decision to turn from your trespasses and sins and to no longer live your life unrighteously. The very moment you set yourself to live righteously God hears your voice. If you humble yourself, lift our hands up in praise and worship of the Lord, and turn from your wicked ways. Then the Lord will hear from heaven and come down and forgive you of your sins and heal all the damage caused by your trespasses and sins while living unrighteously. In regards to water baptism. This is done for concious reasons as evidence to the congregation that you have truly repented and are now born again. This does not mean that you are now saved. Scripture is quite clear in that you must grow from a baby to a child to an adult. Gods seal is then placed upon you preserving you for the day of salvation. A Holy Angel will be sent down to guard your back and the righteous will encamp around you. You have overcome the wicked one just as Christ has. For you there is no longer sin. Now you are saved.

We are saved by grace alone through faith alone. Not us doing the work of turning from our sins. Look at these verses and let's break them down.
Paul makes 5 points about God's salvation to us today:

1. It's by GRACE (unearned favor)
2. It's through faith ( belief in Jesus' work on the cross for our sins)

4. It's a gift. (you don't work for a gift - otherwise it's not a gift)
5. It's not of works (otherwise you would have something to boast in)

(An INTRO) I was given this revelation for all who say JESUS is LORD of the SABBATH and HE is our rest and that's all that the 4th Commandment means.
I ask you this question: If this is so then why did our Creator YAHUVEH write with His own fiery finger in a tablet of stone the 4th commandment, "HONOUR THE SABBATH DAY and KEEP IT HOLY"

If YAHUVEH doesn't think it was important, then why would He have had people killed for not obeying that law? There were no gentiles back when YAHUVEH created the world and this is not a Jew and Gentile issue. This is about obedience to our Creator! Oh, but you precious Bride of Rev. 7, you are already sealed, Beloved Ones. No one can harm you. There will be a short time you will take up arms and defend and help the GUEST to fight satan and those with the mark of satan and then you shall walk in that glorified body when you hear the words, "And the dead in Christ shall rise first." As you learned the word Christ is the only reason I speak it forth. It is the dead in YAHUSHUA ha MASHIACH which will be the [Two Witnesses] and those being martyred at that time.(Guest, martyred) These are in the second rapture and [along with the Rev. 7 Bride] shall also be taken up before the heathen's eyes.
GUEST, All who are invited to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, I have this warning for you, in the Great Tribulation the one coming that is commonly called the anti-christ, who is truly the son of satan, the son of perdition, he will come using and counterfeiting the name that is known worldwide, in every kindred and tongue the name that Christians know and love the name of Jesus Christ. It is satan and his servants that fear the NAME YAH, but I know MY Children's loving hearts. I even forgave you for forsaking MY true Sabbath rest day, breaking the 4th Commandment again and again, but I will forgive this no more. Now you are held accountable for what you know. You are held accountable to warn others.
There is a higher sacred anointing in the Hebrew NAME of YAHUSHUA and in MY NAME, YAHUVEH. Now the End time is nigh and I warn you teach others what you now know as truth. There is more anointing in OUR Holy Sacred NAMES. Use them, make no more excuses. During the Great Tribulation, you must call upon MY Son's Hebrew NAME YAHUSHUA ha MASHIACH. MY NAME YAH is in HIS NAME, the NAME above all NAMES.
If you do not learn this now, in the Great Tribulation when you pray for deliverance or healing, and you use the name "Jesus," remember that the son of satan will be using this name as God. How can you expect to be healed, delivered or blessed by using the same name that the son of satan will be using? You will be calling upon the son of satan and know it not. In the Great Tribulation, the son of satan will have his own day to be set aside to be worshipped and it will be Sunday. [When Sunday worship is mandatory and you are ordered all over the world to go to your nearest local Sunday Church, beware, DON'T GO. It is a trap of the son of satan. For anyone that does attend a Sunday Church during the Great Tribulation, they will enter the door mesmerized, held captive with the spirits of illusion, mind manipulation, idolatry and rebellion among many other powerful demonic spirits.] Warn them now. They will have taken the Mark of the Beast and entered a church of defilement and chosen to worship the beast and accept his physical as well as spiritual mark. Warn people now, before it is too late.
YAHUSHUA WILL NOT LOSE ONE SOUL WHOSE NAMES WERE WRITTEN IN THE LAMBS BOOK OF LIFE BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THIS WORLD. You cannot accidentally choose to accept the Mark of the Beast; you will know not to do so and rather die before doing so.
The only true healing, signs, wonders, miracles and resurrections come from Heaven, any other healing or deliverance is an illusion, and during the Great Tribulation, there will be illusions that appear to be truth but are lies straight from the throne of satan. Learn now and warn others now. In the Great Tribulation only in the name of YAHUSHUA, not the name of Jesus, will true delivering, healing, resurrection power come forth. People who love and serve 'Jesus' now will wonder why their prayers are not being answered their faith will suffer and they will even die for their faith, not understanding why deliverance did not come in that name. Warn them now so they will become accustomed to using the Hebrew NAME YAHUSHUA, and YAHUVEH and the RUACH ha KODESH. Satan does not want to counterfeit the NAME YAHUSHUA with MY NAME YAH in it.

However, you will see all or* *part of the Great Tribulation and your eyes shall be forced to behold the* horror. *Remember this, MY wrath is not appointed unto you,* it is appointed to MY enemies. All others who deny this Word, even though they claim to love Jesus and yet refuse to learn the Hebrew Sacred Names, Sabbath, and Holy Days and feasts. They will continue to nurse on milk for they don't want spiritual teeth to eat this Spiritual meat. In the Great Tribulation, they will remember what they had read and some will repent and know this Ministry was truly Heaven sent. Repent is a change of mind. Going from unbelief to believing in Christ, that he paid for your sins, your past, present and future sins paid for. Stopping your sinning, all your works, good deeds, non of that can save you. The law of Moses does not save you. Only, trusting on Christs finished work, saves you and once your saved, when you trusted on Christ ALONE, your saved and sealed, and can NEVER loose your salvation, EVER.
Repent from self righteousness.... not just sins.. the pharisees only repented from sin but not self righteousness. Thats a fatal flaw in repentance. Repentance from sin only comes from true faith in Jesus. Not by your own works..
Saving repentance is realizing that you are a sinner deserving of God's just punishment in Hell and turn (repent) from whatever you trusted in before, if indeed you trusted in anything; to trusting in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation.
