Guys remove the negative terminal of your battery before removing the starter!!!!!!! Otherwise you will get the shock of your life. Also wear protective goggles especially under the car.
@@SailorOnAMountainnah man, I remove the ground first for safety. Don't teach newbies your way, it's not safe if they are learning. I always remove the battery's ground clamp before loosening the positive. It's safer that way so you don't short the positive terminal to the ground with a tool accidently. It won't harm you if you remove the positive first but why encourage bad practices like that?
@@8kigana That's true. I learned the other way because if the pos is disconnected, there's no chance of anything grounding out. When you've got side posts or something somehow grounds the battery to the frame, any hot lead still has potential.
Juz finish watchin this video and so far itz the best understandable ive seen for 03 nissan frontiers. It also motivated me to remove feont passenger wheel so i can get better access to starter with much more lighting for sure. Thanks so much for ur video and time buddy. 😉👍

Make the video from the beginning you dont show how you got it out or how you put it back in.... I've been looking for a week for a video to show how's how to get it out . If anyone out there can help me I would be so happy..
Don & Talana Allman I was lookin for the same info. But he did say ya can see it better and it gives ya more room if ya take the wheel off. I hope this helps.
Hi Erik! My stepdad and I just changed the starter on my 98 Concorde today, but for some reason there’s now an issue with getting power throughout the car. The dashboard lights won’t work, windows not functioning, and trying to start it has no reaction. The battery itself has enough power, we tested it, so we’re thinking there’s an issue with the conduction system running through the car. Any ideas?? Please help🙏🏽🙏🏽
You should see my '92 Zuki Samurai. Up here in Minnesota. The body is literally peeling away from itself. Looks like it's time to break out a wheel-grinder, some new steel, a welder, and a bunch of RhinoLine.
Neil Rankin no it's almost impossible to get to the starter on 2.4 l just checked mine I can't see anyway to get to the bolts, without removing a whole lot of stuff
Man that was helpful now if I ever have starter trouble on whatever it is your working on I’ll know how to do it
🤣🤣🤣
Good thing u showed us what u did, bc this way we know what we are doing
Thanks for the video. Its not dark like a lot of others..Good point on wheel well cover to remove.

chuimon slp what's wrong with a little tickle and oil in the eye?? Lol good advise!
I can grab the distributor and shut it down.. Burns little bit but don't be afraid it absolutely helps unclog the arteries
It won't shock you but the sparks will scare the hell out of you. Better to remove the positive connector instead though.

Thank you so much brother 😊
Great video thank you
that shit is great?
Change your video title to _"Brief explanation on how to reinstall a starter"_ I saw *ABSOLUTELY NO* Explanation on how to REMOVE IT.
After watching this vid carefully if you still don't know how to remove the starter, you should never touch a toolbox again.
What he said. To be honest this was the most helpful one I've found for nissan SUV and truck. And thank you for your service who ever made it!

Do you need to drain oil before replacing starter
No, you do not have to drain any oil. You do have to disconnect the battery though.
Car starter from what a VW?
Got the bottom bolt, felt the upper bolt but was having a hard time getting to the top bolt, thanks
Year make & model?
What car are u working on
2003 Nissan frontier
What car?
Where is the starter located on 2001 Saturn SL2? Is it on the driver side or on the passenger side?
Thank you for the video and for your service,GOD Bless you in the name of JESUS CHRIST
helps if you say what even vehicle its on
Thanks man!
How do you get it out after it's unbolted
Need to wiggle it out or use a flathead to help pry it off. You may also try lightly tapping on it with a hammer.

Don & Talana Allman damn, you are so right. Why because the key to first start on starter removal is removing your negative terminal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don & Talana Allman I was lookin for the same info. But he did say ya can see it better and it gives ya more room if ya take the wheel off. I hope this helps.
It is the worst design a car company can think of
still can't find a video on where the starter is located

Someone told me that it may be the ground wire. My truck has a small wire to the frame to the negative terminal.
Do you have too shim the starter, my teeth are grinded down
Solid question. Depends on whether or not the original model utilized shims in the first place. Some do, some do not.
Dude, what state are you in? You have zero rust under your truck!
Cali.

Need a step by step video
Is that a 2.4L?
Neil Rankin no it's almost impossible to get to the starter on 2.4 l just checked mine I can't see anyway to get to the bolts, without removing a whole lot of stuff
Can this work with a Nissan Xterra 2000 ?
Williamsa Gee yes it should.
Thank you
Your video would’ve been better if you showed how to actually line up the starter so that if it’s going in
Well that's as clear as mud
need video for 2005
It says removal and install.. and you didn't show the process of either 🤦
I won’t hold your hand so figure it out.
Can’t even find the starter
Why so many dislikes
Doesn't say what make and model wtf...?.half way into the video still don't know...and end video he finally says it.
86 people are not Raider's fans.
Okayyyy soooooo what vehicle sirrrr, this is not helping at allllllll, smh
So if you listen to the end I will tell the year and vehicle. It is a 2003 nissan frontier, also it's in the description if you hit the down arrow.
What's the year and model of the car dummy
2003 nissan frontier
You should include that on the title you'll get more views
After you unbolt the starter how do you get it out
You may need to pry it away from the transmission, but you will need to wiggle it out.
