    Max those panels baby!! When the sun decides to show itself grab it fast esp w that higher voltage :-) w Utah weather and crapo clouds we need power fast. Glad ur home and no significant lava near anyone

      Yes sir..waiting for the sun! We're all breathing a sigh of relief on the lava flow so far. Gumming up the air a bit for sure. Everyday brings a new adventure in life! Aloha!

    Freezers you could leave off for 12~24 hours before they are thawing. Put the solar power on the fridges to let them catch up, then back to the freezer if you have separate freezer/fridge. I have 2 freezers and 2 fridges w solar back up maybe this thought might help u. I also like putting both solar banks in series temporary to help charge one of the batteries

      All great ideas and thanks for that! Playing musical batteries these days! Aloha!🤙🏼

    What do you mean when you say the battery was in float? Like you have your float voltage set super low so once it goes through absorption it sits in "float" doing nothing since the voltage is so low?

    And this folks is why you always have some sort of backup, or multiple ways to charge those batteries.
    If you have a small stream on the property, you can get a small hydropower system that runs 24/7. If you have decent wind, you can put up a small wind generator. All of these different ways of charging can all be hooked up to the same battery to run your home for free. Then as a last resort, you can buy some fuel for your generator. Get the smallest generator that will charge the batteries at their maximum rate. You don't want to run a 7000 watt generator when the batteries can only take 500 watts. My small generator is only 800 watts.

      Not necessary when you live in Phoenix.....unless the sun decides to run out of juice a few billion years early. I can't think of a single time in the past 10 years we've had 3 straight days of no sun

    My brother respect, interesting but my question, how is the 48v system getting on? And you how you managing with the volcano eruption?

    • @ProjectsinParadise808
      @ProjectsinParadise808  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 48V is doing great. I will show some more on that in coming video. doing pretty good here all in all. Air quality fluctuates wildly, but hopefully it will stop erupting before too long. Aloha! 🤙🏼

    Very bad for solar in Boston NY as well. getting wind storms now. I got wind/gen power and it's going 24/7 making power. Everything 100% hear. and extra power dump load is my hot water. that going up as well. Ben using slow cookers to make some meals . not a huge load but 4 Hr. med load. inverter fan blows some slight warm air . fan cycles on and off. now the hot plate or microwave makes the fan in inverter run a lot more. How is that 24V battery doing? may just plug into outher system until sun. Well the rain is a good thing washing that suit out of the air. do you have weather radio in your area ? I got it hear . 162.55 MHz . my weather radio has SAME alerts . runs on my 12V system or 24V with converter . also has 3 AA back up battery's The national weather service gives out weather and warring's . My camping radio has weather as well . auto selects the channel . all the storms we been having has ben making weather radio go off quite a bit. I got the Midland one. one of my radios is a Eaton one. that has weather as well . and the Amazon one does to. that has solar and hand crank recharge also charges cellphone. I wrote a review on amazon . has a replaceable 18650 Li-ion battery. let us know how well the water filter takes that volcano ash out . That has to make your water tasty bad. 😀

      Horrible conditions here. VOG, rain,dark,dark. Right now the air quality not so good. Very irritating to the eyes, throat, and that sulphur taste. Listen some to that same frequency here. And check in on the ham bands for latest conditions too. Use to run a long wire for sw but now internet . I miss the old long wire listening actually. Hoping for better weather tomorrow . Matter of maybe a week or so will lose major rd. if eruption continues at current strength. Nobody knows yet though. Keeps us on our toes. Aloha! 🤙🏼

      @@ProjectsinParadise808 That short wave radio and ham still works . I got many antenna's still up. No CB we use GMRS hear now. UHF much better. Internet was down 2 days hear all across my area . Told weather related. The big storm is over and the snow gone now. must been the flooding and wind knocked internet out . many lost connection

    I have the identical refrigerator (very efficient, that's why I bought it). So far I have replaced the shelves twice, manufacturing defect/design defect makes the corners crack. Be sure to watch out for it, apparently the injection molding process makes the plastic corners holding the glass crack (plastic cracks, not the glass). It really pisses me off, since replacements are not cheap. The refrigerator is every bit as efficient as it is advertised, but spending a few hundred dollars every two years to keep the glass from falling on my 4 year old granddaughter really sucks. LG needs to do a recall and fix the shelves, they are dangerous.

    Quite honestly, you need more panels. 2:1 rule of thumb. Has anyone ever mentioned that? Just curious.
    300ah battery =600 watts of panels. Might give you that extra day or 2 before you need to make that choice of running that genny. Same with your Chins set up. Otherwise looks like you're doing pretty well. 👍

    • @ProjectsinParadise808
      @ProjectsinParadise808  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Been adding panels last few day's catching up and getting where it needs to be. Yes 2:1 is great, and always been the goal...mahalo for sharing this information with us...aloha!🤙

    Do you have any other batteries with a charge? What about the 48v battery? Can it be used in some fashion? Anything to not start up that Genny! Love the channel and good luck!

      Got the 48v designated on freezer atm working perfectly. Slid in a spare 200ah today, and gained on all systems. No genny! Mahalo! 🤙

      Yeah last week or so pretty dark here..volcano eruption not helping either. Been lucky up to now, haven't needed the generator in months and months. Probably have to fire it up tonight, or in the morning. Oh well, so it goes. Aloha 🌋🤙
