    Great, just what our society needs... a way to truly tap into our minds and co-opt our consiousness so corporations can ravge us even more than they do now, not to mention the hacking potential with horrendous outcomes.

    The concept is age old. The most astounding thing is the execution, turning it into reality. I just recently got one as a control for a system a friend was developing thus me testing. Had not much knowledge about the neuro science area but was suprised by Emotiv's history. Mostly being an Aussie living overseas surprised to find world changing work coming from back home. Turning ancient dreams into reality, execution. Bravo.

    Never mind the EMF radiation from the device absorbed into your brain.

      Could you elaborate ?

    • @Roshkin
      @Roshkin 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's highly designed not to let any EMF radiation into your skull. That's why it's wireless and powered by a low-power recharagable battery.

      @@Roshkin Thats not how EMF and ELF work. ... But it doesn't matter, these people do whatever they want because theres nothing you can do about it, and this is way older than Tan Lee and Emotiv Systems.

    has someone else notice that this video is from the end of 2008 and its been more than 2 years since she said that the device would be out in several months? when does it come out? i'd really want to see how new things would develop using such a multi-featured device.if anyone knows what stage of proces this is in, please say. and i absolutly think that this device can make progress to really cool stuff.working with that piece would provide almost endless options as a user interface

    In th e "disappearing" sample, the user could be thinking about anything other than actually disappearing the cube in his mind. So you just register or sample the thinking pattern and then the software makes the cube disappearing when detecting that previous recorded pattern. Is that correct? i mean, thinking about rotating the cube is just an idea as well as disappearing the cube.

    This is incredible, l have been researching mind manipulation technology for some time, this is a very marketable idea. Hopefully in the future we will start our cars with our minds and bring it to us, or have a conversation with someone over the web via our brains. The mind is the most powerful tool in our observable universe.

But in the demonstration she showed actual manipulation or control using thought which means she's far beyond what they originally created the device for. I can imagine how much more they've advanced this technology since this video. It's pretty exciting.

    I've been talking about this for ages, its so good that a team have got together and made it a reality.. Eventually a headset won't be needed for applications like this, there will just be a constant external scan of the user (like a VERY high tech Kinect) that will show the brains behaviour and desired action.

    @83leaf the problems is though that it doesn't really sense "thoughts" necessarily what it senses is an individuals brain waves at a certain time and then links them to a certain response on the screen. That is why each action must be programmed for each individual using the machine. Also this is only a receptor. It is reading your brain waves, it isn't sending a pulses or waves to your brain. It isn't a stimulus its a receptor.

    wow.. its all about improving the way can interface with things. So we can remove the barrier that exists between our intentions and the manipulation of the physical world around us. Like she said starting with video games, it will be the safer more user friendly more precise way of controlling things. machinery, cars, using your computer without your hands. If this tech is perfected, we have achieved new heights as a civilization in terms of the way we can effect our environment.

    Yes. What she is talking about Is called a Brain Computer Interface or Direct Neural Interface. And what you are asking for I suppose would be a device that provides sensory feedback in order to enrich augmented reality. So using a Direct Neural Interface you can codify a sensory response and have your nervous system pick it up, so you would feel the response.

    • @LouisJWest

      Non-invasive means it is not implanted directly into the body. A pacemaker is an invasive technology, this just reads brainwaves. I think this form factor makes it easier to place the electrodes where they need to be. They would have to make custom helmet sizes to get it right.

    @vladolenin I agree with your comment. However, one way or another someone is bound to stumble upon the technology and perhaps use it for other motives--to echo your statement. Better that such technologies are brought to us through public forum where we can find ways to work with it (perhaps also against it if need be) and be informed as opposed to not knowing about it at all until someone with an ulterior motive comes along and uses it.

    This isn't mind control, if it was mind control, then the computer or something else would be controlling marvin's thoughts, but he is the one doing the controlling. Very spiff, thanks for the video post.
