Kofi, I'm just starting out in making product promo videos but also interested in filming fitness videos. Which all-around lens would you recommend? Thanks for the content man!!
Hey man thanks for all your videos on this camera. The FX30is my next camera. If you haven’t already is it possible to give some recommendations on lenses especially affordable ones for the camera. Although $1800 is cheap to some it’s a lot for me. Any like “starter” lenses u can recommend?
I have the A7C right now and super happy with it but want something as a primary video shooter... Up in the air between this or the A7iv ? Thoughts? Worth saving the extra money or should I spend the extra $700 on the A7iv?
If you have XLR mics, get one , but if not , as a b cam for me , I didn’t , if it’s your main driver , I’d consider it (also good luck getting a body only , they’re hard to find )
Great video! Thinking about getting the fx30 for a main camera and using my Lumix s5 for a B camera. Just wondering what the color matching would be like?
This video comes at a perfect timing for me, i want to buy the fx30 so thank u so much! I need your opinion, what is your favorit lens on the fx30 for wide angle? And last but not least, i love ur color grading and keep working u make such nice content! 🙌💪
So I just sold my Sony a7iii you think going to a fx30 would be nice ? 🤔. More lenses for better pricing and etc. I just need confirmation from someone lol. Or should I save up for fx3
Here's the thing , if you have no camera NOW, I'd get the FX3 , since the fx30 is on severe back order , by the time its in , you're probably better off on the FX3, few and far between will I ever say a camera half priced is better, though , for what it is , its great, but im nor a financial advisor , or mind reader, from having both, if I'm okay with parting with 3800USD , the FX3 , if not , the FX30 is more than fine
Nice video, very well made ! What happens when you use a V30 card with the FX30 ? Is there a quality change ? I want to get the tough v60 card for my fx30. So i wan to to film s&q in 4k 10 bit havcs in 50 frames. Os it the right choice for me? i dont wanna film in 120 frames,
@@KofiYeboah Well bro...I did a bunch of testing sessions with the camera and picked up another one. First cameras I have bought since 2018...I figure if my friend can pick up the A7siii...I can spend the money on a pair. One thing I will say about this camera that makes a huge difference. Before with the a6400 I never really wanted to do video for people because I was afraid of the result. If the WB-exposure everything was not 100% the image was kind of sketch. With the FX30...I am just blow away, I did some testing lowlight, 120 feet from my subjects f3.5, iso 2500 and the image is fantastic... with this confidence I told my local priest that if he needs a video guy, for baptisms, weddings I would do them for free for people that did not have money for a proper photographer. I am not a big gear guy, but I will admit the image coming out of the FX30 gives you more confidence. I would say the same for any of the 10 bit units, Blackmagic, FUJI, Panasonic...once you have the image quality it helps. Now just need to improve my style...which is more important than technique.
yo! I just have a little request: would you like to make a short movie only on the fx30 and then make a different video backstage, im interested in what your skills are in shortfilm making
Well when we heard the word APSC that means a smaller sensor so there are some good lenses for APSC sensors as well however if it’s used as B-Came the it’s a pain in the bu//….. Second would be the low light which is a major concern Lastly the 120 crop squeeze the sensor to about 1 inch which will introduce bigger noise. Besides that for low budget work I guess it’s the best option compare to the competition which doesn’t even come close to Sony looking into AF, lens selection and data rates. On the top of the the catalyst application which is awesome.
I’ve been using it as a b cam on a couple client shoots , it’s actually great! I made a lowlight video beforehand , and honestly, a little denoise in resolve or neat video, as long as your scenes are some what lit, and you’re using good exposure techniques , most of the time you’re okay , it’s not 12,800, nor would I think it should be , but it looks pretty good The 120 squeeze does have a bit of noise, more so then non cropped , but again , goo exposure , denoiser software , you’re golden Otherwise for half as much as the fx3 , I still think those are worthy compromises for what you get 🙌🏾
And to be fair , higher budget work isn’t always in low light , or need 4k120fps ( actually a ton don’t) I think as long as you keep in mind it’s abilities and lack there of , you could use this in far more jobs than one would think ( like we’ve been doing with s35 cameras for years)
@@KofiYeboah I have been using XT4 which does a good job but when it comes to overheating it slows me down so this is the perfect fit specific to my workflow.

How are you fixing the default green color cast that the fx30 gives off, right now I am using a grey card to fix my white balance then adjust the magenta to remove the green
Honestly I don’t always get a green colour cast , it’s usually when there’s a ton of greens already there ! But a tint adjustment in resolve and I’m good👌🏾

I was considering swapping my A7IV since I do mostly sports highlights, however after learning here that the second native ISO is 2500 the FX30 won't work for me. Shooting football on the full-frame A7IV at 60FPS in Slog 3 I have to run at the second ISO of 3200. Sounds like on the FX30 I would be at 5000+ and likely introducing a lot of noise.
Yeah , it would be ridiculous for me to try and tell you the a7iv isn’t as good in that situation , the fx30 for the price holds up super well though , but a full frame 3200iso is more likely to look better than an apsc, I did a video to test it , but it’s not SUPER far away
@@KofiYeboah so if you could only have one of the two for video content, mostly focused in sports between the A7IV and the FX30, which would you go for?
@@KofiYeboah 👍Well I can return the A7IV up to January 21st. Right now I have the Tamron 28-75 G2 but plan on adding a 70-200 soon. I rented one during football season this year. Mostly shooting football, but occasionally basketball and volleyball as well.
