    The trouble with pre-cutting vegetables is that the contact with air degrades the vitamin content. Better to cut them when you eat them.

      Yes. I do the prep of cleaning and cutting off the woody stems and dead stuff but leave the veg itself intact until mealtime.

      Put them in a canning jar and suck the air out with a seal a meal.

    I have a good breakfast every morning, I enjoy breaky. I also add marine collagen to my coffee, been doing that for years ( I’m 60)
    I’ve never cared for smoothies…NEVER! lol
    I personally have a good breakfast variety I work through, but I bet there are others like me that don’t care for cold thick or thin or any kind of smoothie for breakfast.
    Would love to see a video with different breakfast ideas 💫

      I’ll add, after I lift I’ll have my whey protein and creatine in a shaker cup with cold water and just down it.
      Nothing fancy 😂

    I love her videos! Keeping bone broth and cauliflower rice in my freezer now. I also had no idea about greener bananas for starch resistant fiber! I am now buying my bananas green! Thank you JJ!

    I love your videos and at 69 I'm learning to eat more protein after losing a lot of muscle doing Keto for 3 yrs. But am having a really hard time accepting liquid meals of protein shakes and seed milks. Maybe I've been brainwashed but I want to eat as natural as possible and those powders are ULTRA PROCESSED food like substances. Can you verify that the brands you use are naturally processed without high heat and chemicals? Right now I'm depending on eggs from my own pastured organic chickens but the volume required is overwhelming

    People with gas issues should be careful with high fodmap foods like garlic, mushrooms, asparagus, broccoli, tomatoes, onions just to name a few.

    • @curiouscat3384
      @curiouscat3384 ปีที่แล้ว

      those foods should all be cooked to neutralize anti-nutrients. Mushrooms in particular need to be thoroughly cooked to access all the nutrients

    Hi JJ. I couldn’t believe how little 40g of cooked chicken was. I have a scale and wish I didn’t. Lol. It’s clear that my perception of serving size is actually giant size. For 3 mornings now, I’ve made a super smoothie. They’re great and such a good idea to break a fast.

    There’s only roughly 7 grams in 1/2 cup canned garbanzo beans though. 15-20 grams per 1/2 cup if they’re dried.

    I've been trying to follow your suggestion for getting enough protein but my problem is once I make that loaded smoothie I find that it keeps me satiated all day and I have to talk myself into at least make a salad for dinner with a little protein like salmon, so just not getting to the amount of protein for my 140 lbs. Wish there was a protein pill 🙂

    Looks good but where do you get your bone broth from?

  • @HidingFromFate

    At about the 1:20 mark, she added what she said was 2 grams of (ground) flaxseed (meal?). That looked like about a tablespoon or two she poured in, which would be 7 to 15 grams in total. At least according to the Cronometer app with respect to the Trader Joe's ground flaxseed I use. A separate google search for the number of grams of ground flaxseed contained in each tablespoon was also listed as being 7.
    So either JJ is way off with stating 2 grams or my visual acuity for estimating blender ingredient volumes is horribly off. I will accept either possibility. 😉

      Some docs recommend against raw flaxseed as somewhat toxic

    Can you adopt me for a month. Lol I am from Tampa. My dad retired air-force. My step mom is there, unfortunately lost my dad. We deliver in Lakeland every week from California. We live in Az. I am going to meal prep, but so hard getting 130 G protein a day. Since I sit all day, can I take it down untill I am home on my 3 days off? I ordered shake package.

    Not sure how you are getting 15 g of protein from a half a cup of chickpeas. I would love to know what chickpeas you are using. I typically get a can of organic chickpeas. My nutrition label is showing half a cup is only 7 g of protein. Your salad looks amazing by the way.

    How can we avoid constipation from eating high protein?

    • @jjvirginvideos
      @jjvirginvideos  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Water is critical for regular bowel movements. When you're dehydrated, your intestines can’t add enough water to your stool. You can end up with hard, dry stool that’s difficult to pass, leaving you constipated and uncomfortable.
      Drinking enough water will help soften stools and supports the digestive process, preventing constipation.
      While you’re focusing on water intake, make sure you’re getting enough fiber! Paired together, Extra Fiber can help with constipation. You can check that out here - store.jjvirgin.com/collections/supplements/products/extra-fiber
      We hope that helps! - Team JJ

      That recipe is way too high in protein in one sitting. Complete or not. I studied nutrition was a national athlete for years and trainer. This is too much in a sitting. Yes, hard on the body. 25gms of protein for women in a sitting is plenty!
