Because they think forcing a "Burn" will fix everything. When the fault returns they start replacing parts instead of investigating what is causing the fault to return.
So I have a little story bare with me a friend of mines car failed it's MOT fair enough it happens he left the car with the garage to have to work done when he went to collect the car they said it was all done but something was wrong with the car it won't start they admitted they actually had to push the car on the ramps to do the MOT work rather than ringing him before doing the work saying his car won't start what do you want us to do?? they charged him £438 for the MOT work and it the turned out to be faulty ECU another £307 .
Which diesel cars in your experience have the least amount of emissions related problems and is that because of the way the owners tend to drive them or because the system is actually better engineered?
@@mattmckie6967 This is a diesel channel for the most part, the question is about diesels. Toyota diesels are not very widespread so just by that fact alone they will be perceived as "more reliable", doesn't actually have to be the case.
Buy a Vw Passat cc 2.0tdi 170 and just put a gallon of kerosene ito her every month! Always drive it hard on motorways 100mph! delete the dpf egr remove the dpf with a full stainless exhaust add Wynn's fuel additive regularly and you won't have to visit jimmy.🇮🇪👍

Jimmy it seems to me that there's a large amount of garage mechanics that either don't know what they are doing or more likely do not understand how to read the scan tool properly and therefore don't know how to fix the faults.
Hello. I have a Mercedes 212 body om651 engine, there is a particulate one. Regeneration every 200-300 km, washed the particulate filter, the same one did not help again and also changed the differential sensor. What could be wrong? Help
I have a 220D mercedes, with the same fault code. I've allready replaced the sensor, and cleaned the filter two times. Cleared all fault codes and reset the ECU for the filter. Yet i still get the same fault code. Is it a wiring fault, does anyone have any suggestions?
Hi Jimmy at the start of the video I think you mixed up the trip meter for the odometer. I read it as trip showing 8260.4, odometer 60301........or is it me?? OOOOPS should have waited till the end!!
Jimmy is very good at realising when a dpf needs replacing and finding out why .. practice makes perfect
