I love your tutorials and rarely comment, but always like. This time I just had to say that's absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing all your skills!
Really like the quilt. It makes sense to engineer all patterns to find shortcuts as you showed. It makes all the difference in the world in the amount of time spent cutting and sewing.
I always love your tutorials,I have watch for very long time.this dear lady is revolution for love love it😍thank you again.i will watch this one again 🙏❤️
Thank you 😊. I wasn't to sure on the mushrooms when I opened the box, but they had quite grown on me by the time I finished the quilt. I was very pleased with how it turned out.
I loved the fact you showed us that you had to take apart. The one square so that everything was lined up right. I'm a brand new quilter, and it's nice to see that even people as good as you are also make mistakes and they're easy to fix. You made this quilt look so easy to do that.I have now got the confidence to try it..
lol, yes Denise no-one is infallible 😊. I'm glad you like the quilt. I really liked how it turned out. Here is a link to the step by step written instructions they may also be helpful www.alandacraft.com/2023/11/29/squares-strip-quilt-tutorial/. It's an easy quilt to make. Have fun
Thank you 😊. Sewing everything in strips makes it easier. Just take your time and press the seams so that they nest together when you are pinning the pieces together. This will help with lining up the squares so that they match nicely.
Thank you so much for saving my sanity! When I first looked at this quilt, I figured I would,be sewing strips, and big and small blocks - why it never occurred to me to sew the way you have shown is amazing, even for this old,dog who has been around for many years in quilting😁😁😁. This would make great quilts for my guild’s charity, just need to size them down as they will be for children of all ages!!! 👍👍👍👍👍😁😁😁😁
Wow,love this so,glad I happened across your video, thank you very much. I loved your video so much I have subscribed to your channel can’t wait to see what else you have done and will do.
I'm glad you like the pattern Constance 😊. I love the selections that they send us. I was a bit iffy about the mushrooms at first glance, but they worked out okay.
Just wanted to say thank you for the video. I watched it several times and thought I can do that.... this is my first quilt. Many times I have tried but they never came out or I couldn't get the hang of the pattern. This was easy to understand and easy to complete!!! I was going to add a photo... but don't know how.
I am so happy to hear that you liked the tutorial Stacy and found it helpful. You can send me a photo to contact@ alandacraft.com or here is a link to our readers projects www.alandacraft.com/submit-your-project/. We would love to see your quilt.
Just had a thought - how about using charm squares for the colored blocks (and possibly for the white/light blocks if charm packs can be found or cut white/light layer cakes into 4 5” blocks). I also found a tub I have with many Mini Charm Packs for the corner stones - I would just need to cut strips for the sashing and for the first border.
I think it would look awesome with charm squares. It's obviously going to take you a bit longer since you will have to cut all of the sashing separately but I think it will be worth it.
The method should work with any size strips, Amber. But as I haven't used those sized strips I can't comment on how the end quilt will look. When I am trying something new I tend make a small item, placemat etc just to check what it will look like or I use EQ8 to help me design a quilt.
The written instruction link is in the description. All the measurements are given in the video anyway, so a written pattern isn’t really necessary, I think you should apologise for your comment.
From me to your Mom: She provided the cuts measures in addition to spending time making a video to show you how to put it together--and, she's not asked to to buy a damn thing.

Well that made us feel really sad. The fact is that we are only two people working on this channel - we don’t have any staff that can run around and create for us, we do it all ourselves. And the amount of work and money that goes into these tutorials is enormous. First of all, we have to research and design the quilt and that can take 3 or 4 hours at a minimum. Then we have to go out and spend time searching for fabric that will work and generally we have to buy double the quantity in case what we have designed doesn’t work the first time. We were very fortunate to be sent some beautiful fabric by Cotton Cuts for this one, so that saved us a step. Then we have have to make the quilt - we usually do a prototype first before recording to make sure everything is going to work out okay, so that you don't waste time and money. So this is already 3 or 4 days work even before we even start filming. Filming can take a full day and sometimes two for a quilt like this. Next we have to edit the video and that can take another full day and sometimes more. The blog post has to be written and photos added and that can also take about half a day or more more. Generally one of us does the blog post while the other edits the video. Then we need to create thumbnails and other graphics so that’s more time. So when you say that we aren't kind because we don't provide a PDF document that is heartbreaking. And actually we do have a PDF function at the bottom of every post, so you can download all the measurements and step by step instructions. And all this is at no cost to you.
Ooooh some peoples Children!!! I personally truly appreciate your tutorials and look forward to all of them!!! They are wonderfully and skillfully presented. Anyone watching these videos has a great chance of being successful, because of your time and patience and careful teaching skills. Not one step is left out. And all of the measurements are included! AND FOR FREE !!! I couldn't ask for anything more. Thank you ladies, for being so very generous❤🎉

Thank you for your lovely comment Linda 😊

Ohhhh I love this!!!! The little mushies are SO cute!!
Thank you 😊. I wasn't too sure about the mushrooms when I opened the box, but they worked out well in the end.
@alandacraft I immediately loved the print when you first showed it LOL! I love mushies though.
A great example of working 'smart'! The result is a quick and lovely quilt, I'm pleased to see that you turned those mushrooms the right way up, 👍
Thank you Elizabeth 😊. Oh yes, we made sure those mushrooms were right way up lol.

You are going to have to make two of these now. One using our method and one using the charm pack you mentioned in your other comment.
Thank you, beautiful quilt. Good instructions and a free pattern, can’t get any better.
Thank you Lucy ☺️. I was pleased with the result considering we just went for it and didn't make a prototype first.
❤Now that’s working smart not hard.🌸 Thanks so much.💗
We are always looking for the easy way to do things. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. This one did ☺️

Could this work with smaller strips (example 3in and 1 1/2)

From my Mom: why not be kind to your viewers and give the instructions in a PDF format? Not going to buy anything of yours until you give a little.
