100%, which is why I started using small painter pallets and pouring a small amount out into a well, then putting the cap back on those bottles or I will do that every time lol.
I have been modeling for a long time without decal set. Mostly successful, but some screwups I hope this helps. One thing I do know, is never use a toothpick on decals unless you have to. I use a Q-tip. It's gentle and soaks up excess water. Thanks for the video.
Absolutely helpful. I hate waterslide decals with a passion, but I'm putting together a kit for my dad that's based on the actual military craft he help design and it is all waterslide. This makes things significantly easier.
Hallo. One question. I have 1/16 Tiger tank, matt grey colour. Decals are glossy, and that looks bad . Can I use this products to stickt them to tank and make him matt like rest of the tank. Thanks
Yes you can use this to apply them and I would use a matt topcoat over the model afterwards. This should give the desired effect your after. I have done a similar thing on other models in the past just make sure the waterslides are fully dry before topcoating. Hope this helps.
I just started my first water slides I've ever done on my RG Sazabi, Cool got it perfect then moved it when went to apply Micro Sol Ahhhh... Took alot to fix it...
I don't think it impacts the adhesive properties as much as it makes the water slide working time longer and they softens it further so the decal shrinks more to the surface for a painted on look
the last time I did decals I used cold water the only difference I think of is just the time you have to wait for the decal to slide off easily but I believe it's only a matter of seconds really
Hi the micro sol softens the waterslide allowing it to adhere to awakward surfaces, the set then makes it harden faster to the new shape. But still best to go over with a topcoat to seal the transfer.
Don’t forget the most important tip which is to knock the bottles over and spill it all over your desk…
That goes without saying...
Did this today 😂

That's why i always have doubles or triples in terms of washes, paints, and decal based products like Mirosol/Set.
He’s a pro at this, he knows how to edit that part out.

Agreed. NO TOOTHPICS. A Q-tip or pencil with an eraser. Use the eraser.

Thanks!great tip, what is your background music? nice!
Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful video! Can this be used on ceramic mug for placing in oven to dry the water slide decal?
Hey, I really appreciate the help brother

Great viddy!! BTW is that the Code Vein BGM? i could swear it is so similar.
Do you let the Micro set dry before apply the water slide? Almost like a primer
Good job

@@prometheusgunpla8444 Thank you very much 👍👍👍
Use a brush, not a tooth pick
Apart from the fact he used a tooth pick and the finish was perfect. But yeah.

What’s the name of the song? It’s awesome!
It’s the Theme Song from Chars Counterattack (Gundam)
Is it safe on the parts that painted in gloss?
Yes it is, would also say gloss over once you have applied them to fully seal the decals
Does that strengthen the adhesion of the decal? I wanna use waterslides for a real motorcycle fairings

does the temperature of the water matter?
I find between cold and lukewarm helps
the last time I did decals I used cold water
the only difference I think of is just the time you have to wait for the decal to slide off easily but I believe it's only a matter of seconds really
What’s the music please?
What does the Micro Sol actually do?

@@prometheusgunpla8444 what about flat surfaces? is really the Micro Sol useful or just a waste of time?
@@Tommy27ZB I think it dissolves the transfer medium leaving only the printed area thus eliminating any edges.
Does the micro sol and set affect painted areas?
No, it can be applied to painted surfaces.
I made a mistake and I only have micro sol and not micro set so can I still just only use it without micro set
I know it's a late reply, but yes you can use just the micro sol by itself. I purchased both and have only used micro sol the majority of the time
When did the decals start to be called waterslides lol
Music too loud
more how toos
Haha I just so happen to have one filmed ready to edit so keep an eye out for this weekend.
*to, tos.
*to’s. (Sort of acceptable)
Toos is too wrong.
