- I try to beat Tears of the Kingdom without pressing Pause.
My definition of a pause is:
Pressing + to open the menu
Pressing - to open the map menu
Press left up or right on the D-pad to change equipment
Holding R to change my equipped rune

Fairy's are not the only way to heal without pausing. You can also simply sit in a hot spring to heal instead.

One thing that you forgot about that’s not pausing the game is sleeping in bed send that restores your heart, and if he is Melania bed and not only are stores your heart, but also gives you extra hearts with an extra stamina wheel

I have also been working on TOTK "pauseless". I could not figure out how to avoid the two pauses on great sky island. One is getting to the recall shrine and the other is escaping with recall. Never thought of fusing a bomb shield early. Because of this, I took ultra hand into the game proper and have been having a good time with it. I did allow save/load and map warps as long as the location I was warping to was theoretically walkable. I wanted a challenge as well as a good time.
That tp sounds backwards to me. If it’s walkable, you could walk it, which makes sense you could do it it’s fine, but what about what isn’t?
Like the starting island, you can’t get there, so if you had to make an exception that should be it
@@holyelephantmg8838like a year late but I’m guessing it’s kind of just like. If you don’t know if you can get somewhere you want to go, then the more fun option is to instead try and figure out a way to do it because well, that’s the challenge part of the challenge. If you automatically accept every assumed impossible off the bat and give yourself an exception rule break, you may actually be cheating yourself out of what you wanted from the challenge. Which is taking the game on at a fun new angle and creating puzzles out of what used to be simple button presses
Gamechamp3000 did a run in breath of the wild with the same idea, don’t know if you took inspiration from her but either way it was fun to watch
A worthy successor to gamechamp3000. Only person I have ever seen to meet her levels of dedication

This is mad impressive but i feel true no pausing would be very impossible because picking up ANY item for the first time pauses the game and shows you it again no hate loved the video.
Legendary weapons like the weapons of old, or the Champion's weapons can't be repaired nor upgraded by Octorocks

4:56, the pause button on your controller is not pressed, but most would say this is a pause. After all, the water stops dripping from your body and the world freezes.
This challenge was taken from GameChamps BotW challenge of same name, and she used this menu to change clothing, so that's why it wasn't explained.
This clothing menu doesn't break any of the rules set before the run start and doesn't break the challenge in any way, you still can't save, eat, change weapons, or anything like that. It's so limited it got away being a quality of life for the challenge.
You can beat it without changing clothes, obviously, specially since you're skipping the bosses, but if you want to do the Dungeons (which are what makes the challenge fun in the first place) you need clothing ok both games
If it is allowed by Gamechamp's rules it counts in my book

11:22, same kind of pause as switching weapons or changing equipment shown here when you're on the auto build menu. This is clearly an exploitation of challenge ruleset wording - much more so than the previous one when you equipped the flame breaker armor at the shop. Why not just throw an opal / chu chu jelly at it instead?
i agree that autobuild is pretty similar to that but you can't throw things either since that also brings up a little menu

Ive tried this challenge. So far, done fuse and am planning on trying to fuse a glider to my shield. Sort of struggling to get to ascend, and i want to see how you will get back to recall.

Kinda of a shame you had to glitch into the Gannon fight but good still an amazing video and I can imagine this must of been so slow
He proved that he was able to beat all the temple bosses except the construct which is likely possible, so he didn't have to he just didn't want to waste his time.
@@charziz6693 not so sure about that. Sure, you can beat all the bosses, but that doesnt mean you can complete all the temples. Portions that require ascend or ultrahand to open doors and whatnot.
I think the wind temple has levers that only work to open doors when you use ultra hand to stick something to them. Even just getting to the wind temple, you need to use ascend a few times.
Beating the boss is not proof that beating the temple is possivle

I was wondering how this run would work. I've put a large amount of time into the same run in BoTW but this game makes it way more restrictive
At least durability sucks here so you can pick up a weapon easier. Like once you break a rock the hammer will easily break so you can grab something else

This video, which out of all his videos has the most "viral potential", hasn't been out for more than 2 hours. Also he just sounds like an amateur, which is understandable. but videos get way more entertaining when your voice itself is as interesting as what's happening in the video.

Because he didn’t actually beat Colgera, he clipped out of the fight to fight Gannon. So the game thought he was still fighting Colgera.

How did I beat ganondorf without fighting any of the bosses?
You can challenge Ganondorf once you leave the Great Sky Island. If you don't defeat the main bosses in their respective regions then you have to defeat them in between fighting the Demon King's Army and Ganondorf himself.

It is not pressing any banned buttons. Therefore it is allowed in the run

This is a very interesting challenge but technically talking to npc counts as pausing because it stops the time until you unstop it not trying to take away from this hard run but I am just pointing out a flaw
