    This fits her character perfectly. When hermoine claims that the carriage is pulling itself, Luna lets her believe it. To some degree, she’s always been in on the joke and was comfortable letting others believe she was crazy. She has nothing to prove. Great theory.

    I always though that "nargles" were mean, crazy, or annoying girls in Luna's language. She mentioned how mistletoe was filled with nargles and some girls during Christmas were always under mistletoe, she said that nargles took her things and we know that were the girls from her room that were being mean to her. So when I read the book I always thought that nargles were girls that Luna didn't like

    The one thing you’re certain of is one I find very interesting actually, because I agree that’s generally the way to do it, but there do exist exceptions to that rule, namely: you’ve just finished your first bowl of cereal, and realize you put more milk than the amount of cereal required, you’re not going to just throw the extra milk away, at least not after your first bowl, and while you could drink it, it simply makes more sense to use it for what you intended when you poured it in the first place: a bowl of cereal.

    this is something that RARELY happens but, it does. and its extremely dumb when it happens because im actually a highly skilled shooter who should NEVER and generally NEVER misses my intended target. (i was a 0311 and i did armed security) its so dumb when it happens too because no joke, EVERYONE around just stops and stares in confusion.

  • @horlickfamily7504
    @horlickfamily7504 ปีที่แล้ว

    I mostly agree. Personally I've always felt that her peculiarity stems from 2 possible points. Either or both being valid.
    My one point is that i think wizards are born with various 'depth' to their magical abilities. We don't get told how magic actually works, but we know there is a blood factor. We know some have such low levels of power that they're called squibs. Having more magic than a muggle. So if someone can have less magic, then more magic is possible. Unlike Hermione, who has to focus on study, we do know that 'talent' exists and runs in blood. From obvious talents like speaking to snakes or shape shifting, to Harry's weird natural affinity to flying a broom. Voldemort himself may be one such natural talent. And so i believe that the main reason Luna got into Ravenclaw was some rare ability the hat could sense. An ability that allows her to perhaps detect very ethereal or cloaked creatures. I also suspect that her mother had a similar ability, and perhaps discovering something that didn't want to be discovered may have been the cause of her death. Thus maybe some of the strange names and such was loaned from wizard stories, but referred to real creatures yet undiscovered.
    Secondly, i lean more to these creatures being undiscovered. True, they could have been discovered by Newt before. And it's possible that his Grandson knew that some of these creatures exists. But i get the feeling that Newt didn't just go catalogue creatures that was already known. I believe most of those he wrote about was ones that was unknown up to that time. Perhaps much like those looking for the yeti or nessie. Perhaps hearing legends and then seeking to prove them real. And in that way Luna's talents could allow her to find creatures even Newt couldn't find. Creatures more magical than those currently seen, can logically not be found except by a rare individual with equally high magical talents.
    I wouldn't be surprised if Luna's mother had been a pupil of Newt, or at least a friend. And perhaps the desire for the diadem of ravenclaw was tied into their quest to explore this world.

    I think Luna knows exactly what’s going on, she just takes a step back, flip it with a different point of view. I think Luna is the smartest wizard, and knows way more than what she’s tells people.

    I think of the Wrackspurts as a psychological thing that is viewed as magical, like the Yips. I wonder if Wrackspurts are sort of like a manifestation of anxiety/panic or even an anxiety/panic attack. It is not unrealistic to think she might have trauma that results in such, but also seeing it as a creature is fitting for the Lovegoods, as well as making it easier for her to deal with if she can physically fight them off. The symptoms fit, and it would be fitting for the time when Harry experienced it. I might be reaching.

    I like the idea that she was homeschooled, her mother died so the terms she learned is 'wrong', never transitioned to the real terms. The dad is lost in keeping Luna's childhood, forgetting himself to much. So she is still learning, making terms of her own along with logic of conspiracy theories, writing to her magazine. So no one understands what she is saying, even thou her ideas are well formulated. People even avoid asking what her terms are, because they have not learn how to form logic or they she as loony(but not the Canadian money).
