After all this and we're only 1/3 the way through his years. Granted the last decade undertaker has had sporadic appearances at best but God damn the undertaker has been around a long time.
The stalker angle was such garbage... although I will still go back now and again to watch that pop that Page got when he removed his mask. DDP says his idea was to feud with The Rock in a match to determine the real People's Champ. That would have been so much better. Instead they jobbed DDP out to Taker and turned him into a mid-carder. Trash.
It's also been said as well that Undertaker was the sole reason why DDP never got a real big push during his WWE run. Page had handed a script of an entire feud to Undertaker to which he responded, "Unless you're Vince, nobody tells Undertaker what to do." I would assume that Taker had reported this to Vince and then decided to move Page down the card, which is kinda sad really if you look at it. I definitely would have to agree that Rock vs. DDP would've been fantastic to see.
@@Laynel8 Booker vs Rock was better than DDP vs Rock, DDP is not good at back and forth promos and reactions, decent promo, over music and finisher!!!!!
@@KoolKumasi What 90s stuff did you watch? His stuff in WCW was amazing, no hyperbole, and he was one of the few bearable things (although not always) about 2000 WCW. And saying he wasn't able to garner a reaction is an insult to DDP as a performer overall. He wasn't world champ for no reason. He was even positioned to be WHC against Goldberg before Kevin Nash Kliqed everything up.
That reverse colorway of Kane's ring attire was my favorite to use in WWE No Mercy a real clean look also, I never knew Kane was threatening to throw Stephanie over a balcony for the Undertaker lol.
Apparently, Stephanie was scared to do the stunt, so if you watch that clip, it’s actually Lita in a wig that Kane is holding. Stephanie is yelling offscreen.
Initially I didn't like the biker gimmick at first as I felt it was a such a drastic change from the deadman which I was a huge fan of plus I didn't enjoy the first year of it as Undertaker was very slow, out of shape and his matches weren't really that fun to watch. When he turned heel in Nov 01, cut his hair short, lost all of the excessive weight, got in top shape and became Big Evil, he started kicking ass and having great matches again. His promos were very entertaining and the biker persona started to grow on me, I absolutely loved his 01 - 02 heel run and I still consider it to be his best work in terms of mic skills and in ring performance. I respect the fact that he had to change his character and keep things fresh, it was a risky move but it paid off and added a few more years to his career. Keep up the good work 👏
Its weird that i wasn't a big fan of the American Badass at the time it was happening. It wasn't till years later looking back, that i appreciated it. I do think it was good that he refreshed his character like this.
Laughed hard when he shoved Ross into Vince's rear. "That's ain't right. He can't kiss your a**... until you are wearing the man's hat!". Best heel-turn in a history.
In the rushed Taker vs Kane Summerslam 2000 feud, the main reason Undertaker was thrown into a feud with Kane last second is because Big Show (who was scheduled to have the match vs Kane at SS) became out of shape and was quickly and quietly demoted to the WWE developmental center to shape up (thus why he didn't return until Royal Rumble 2001) and my guess is the WWE figured who better to rush in as a replacement than Undertaker.
Sadly, it is mostly glossed over on here, but in the month or so from late April 01 until Taker's wife being stalked in May 01 was incredible to watch unfold. In that time, he sent Stone Cold through a window and attacked in an ambulance, after which he punched Mr. Mcmahon square in the face. Then the following Smackdown Taker took over Stone Cold's locker room before their match at Judgment Day. I enjoyed this portion of the face Undertaker, as he was allowed to simply be a rebel and though he didn't win the gold, he still kicked some major ass.
The Brothers of Destruction were a great team. The moment the brothers saved Lita from HHH and Stone Cold was a fantastic moment and still makes me pump my fist in the air.
Honestly, the American Badass Taker is probably my all time favourite Taker.. I was one of the very small few that was actually disappointed that he went back to the old grim reaper gimmick at WMXX... and happy we somewhat got Biker Taker again against AJ Styles at Mania this year.
The heel Big Evil Taker in 2001-2002 was the best Undertaker in the Biker era. A close second is the 2003 Taker when he returned after missing the remaining of 2002.
Yes. Very skinny/scrawny, petite, bleached blonde hair (with extensions or like his current wife, wigs), a set of fake tits, almost average-looking face. That is clearly Mark’s “type.”

Huh? He still has a legacy that's solidified and has even got more accolades than 95% of his peers! Yeah, OK!, if he hadn't had time off due to his quad tear he would of achieved even more but I think context needs to be provided in such a statement! HHH has had more success than most and the quad tear shouldn't be looked at like it effected his respect, ability and achievements! Just my two cents. 👍
You gotta give Shane McMahon props for some of the stuff he did. Watching him jump from the top of the ramp to the scaffold is superb stuff from the boss' son.
Being 8 years old at the time he debuted this gimmick, and absolutely loving limp bizkit at the time.. this was my favorite Taker iteration only because of the nostalgia I remember. Playing with wrestlers on my living room floor watching summerslam 2000
The gimmick was Undertaker bring himself and to tell you the truth, the American Badass was more like a modern-day Ghost Rider. Undertaker totally was and still a genius.
Me and my wife just got to the debut of the american badass. And it will always be my favorite version of Taker even if the booking and angles weren't ideal. Him playing his real life persona was a breath of fresh air. His promos and just in general how he talked to other superstars was awesome. Taker has always been the top guy for me and this version of him/big evil was awesome.
