Why would u get down voted for saying the truth? Triple H is one of the greatest heals in the history of wrestling. To stand out in that era meant something and he stood out. I don’t care who he’s married to, the body of work that he’s put in, the matches, title runs, promos, antics, make him one of the best ever. That’s not up for debate.
I stopped watching Wrestling in High School around 99-00. This Qurantine has allowed me to watch many old wrestling matches. The first couple of matches I've watched has been Triple H and man this dude is amazing. He's one of my favorites now and earned my respect.
HHH during that time was the best damn heel I really wanted to see the good guys kick his ass, I loved the my time theme more over the Motörhead one he had later on, he really did get his frustrations out on the curtain call and saying he was jobbed out constantly I thought that was a nice touch
The streetfight between him and Cactus Jack in 1997 is one of my all time favourites. Hunter sold it perfectly when Foley came out as Cactus... Great times...
HHH had *nothing* on Scott Steiner's ability to draw heat. You just know that the crowd would have cheered their asses off if someone had literally shot him in the ring.
Triple H should never be questioned for his wrestling career bc of his relationship. He was one of the best heels to ever do it, and could turn baby face anytime he wanted, and the crowd loved it. He also was available every single week unless it was for his quad injuries. Triple H had some awesome matches, promos, and played his character so perfectly. Nothing but respect for triple h. If you wanna say he got to where he is now bc of his relationship then that I can accept, but as a wrestler he was one of the best during the best era in wrestling history.
Jim Ross said it best upon HHH's return to WWE/(F at the time) in Madison Square Garden, "whether you like him or hate him, this man deserves respect!" He's always there for the company and has had more top tier matches than many of his peers and some matches with said peers! the best heel of the attitude era BY FAR!
Best heel of the AE? Ehhhhhh... I dunno about that, you've got some great heels during that time period (I guess you just meant WWF because WCW was on fire during the AE and the NWO held the best stable of heels especially during the early period of that era). I'll give it to you that it's at least debatable, but I don't think he can be considered the best by far. The Rock? He was absolutely at his best as a heel and way more charismatic than Hunter. Ministry Taker can be considered too. Austin was a tweener so I guess we can't count him but, what about Mr. McMahon? He was the top heel bar none IMO. He could get true heat like nobody I've ever seen. HHH wasn't even a tippy top main eventer until after the events depicted in this video occurred. Really until Ruthless Aggression hit and he was de facto top dog since everyone had left, he struggled to stay in the spotlight against all of these huge stars. I think his true time at the top was after the Attitude Era during the "Reign of Terror".
that's how you know he was good. 8 - 10 year old me hated Bobby Heenan but I've been rewatching all the Wrestlemanias and Summer Slams and Bobby gets me doubled over laughing many times per show.
Just imagine after DX Collapsed if HHH just disappeared. Would he have been missed? Now imagine is Flare or Piper dissapeared, devastating loss. Nothing special about him other than having the Voodoo stick to stuff in Stephanie.
Idk what the hell these other guys are talking about, but HHH was definitely one of the best heels of all time. Did y'all forget that Austin & Taker were both out in the Fall of '99 & Spring of '00? All that was left was Mankind & Kane, and neither of them would have been able to fill that heel role. Give the man his props.
I enjoyed Triple H’s heel run for the title especially his new My Time entrance music. I saw potential there for an awesome heel character and it came full circle when he came out to Time to Play the Game. His heel character is so memorable, in my opinion, because of his memorable entrance songs.
@@NGDemonSlayer12 Probably gonna get crucified for saying this publicly, but I actually prefer My Time to Motorhead's The Game... Don't get me wrong, it's still a great piece of music, but I think My Time just sums up the Attitude Era perfectly.
@Resident Elect Not from me I actually agree with you, I always preferred My Time over The Game. The lyrics just meshed so perfectly with Triple H’s character at that point, and it just had that rebellious feel to it while you listen to it, plus I liked any theme with Chris Warren signing it. As a kid I couldn’t stand Triple H but I always looked forward to hearing his theme because (no pun intended) it was that damn good
@@htownborn92 Absolutely! My first experience of the WWF was the tail end of the Golden era, cheering for squeaky clean faces such as Hogan, Jim Duggan, Davey Boy Smith and Warrior. I kinda tuned out as I got older and the New Generation came around, occasionally watching Undertaker matches, but not much else. I got back into it in a big way around early '97 and the Attitude Era was taking off. Being in my late teens it literally catered for everything I enjoyed in entertainment; violence, foul language, hot women wearing very little clothing, and the awesome music. I absolutely loved the episode of Raw were DX drove the Jeep to the arena in which Nitro was being filmed and offered them out lol that epitomizes the Attitude Era for me.
It was so underwhelming how Chyna and HHH simply fizzled out (on screen after No Mercy 1999). After so many years of working together, they simply parted ways - this could have been much more dramatic or even if amicable, an on screen conversation between them.
Triple H was in a love triangle with Stephanie and Chyna at the time. It was just complicated plus Chyna contract was up and wanted more money. The writing was on the wall.
Don't GiveUp yes, but Chyna didn’t leave until 18 months after they stopped working together on-screen. It could have just been Chyna making an announcement that she wants to be taken seriously as an IC champion so is disassociating herself
Question: were Stephanie and Chyna ever together for any segments with Triple H? Like was Chyna not part of the DX heel run (second heel run, I suppose)?
Hussain Family nope, she had no part in that DX reunion. And although there were a couple of segments with Stephanie and Chyna in December 1999 and January 2000, they were regarding Chyna’s co-intercontinental championship reign with Jericho - HHH had nothing to do with it. In summer 2000, there was a brief angle where Stephanie thought HHH and Chyna were getting back together because he was confiding in her over his frustration of Steph and Kurt Angle. But it wasn’t very effective - it was all very soap opera.
The greatest heel of all time. I legit hated this guy regardless if he was playing a character. He made it believable and his promos made it seem him being champion was more important than life itself and all of us. He is The Game and he is that damn good
@Terry Bogard Somebody could have literally SHOT Scott Steiner in the ring back then and nobody from the crowd would testify against the shooter. Steiner was *unbelievably* good at getting everyone to hate his guts.
I was looking forward to you eventually making this video. Dare I say, Triple H as "The Game" surpassed The Undertaker as greatest heel of 1999, and this was prior to hooking up on-screen with Stephanie McMahon. Love him or hate him, his in-ring work and mic skills are that damn good.
Precisely. His attack on the coffin against The Rock, that awesome sledgehammer shot to Mankind's knee and his vicious attack on Stone Cold at the end of SS 1999 were all way before hooking up with Stephanie. He was on fire as a heel already. Revisionist history seems to argue otherwise, but the truth of the matter is HHH was the best heel in the world between late 1999-2001.
@Pro Wrestling Classics Tv HHH was the best heel from 99-01. His 02-05 Reign of Terror/Golden Shovel run as WHC was already played out and forced fed at that point.
When you think “Mount Rushmore” of the Attitude Era, you think Austin, Rock, Taker, & Triple H. Those 4 men carried the company on their backs, along with Vince McMahon. 💯
@@NoOne-kx7zs No way. Triple H was definitely the 4th biggest star. From DX in 1997, to becoming the leader with the New Age Outlaws in 1998-1999, to becoming the main storyline of Smackdown in 2000-2001 with his TV marriage to Stephanie, winning the title, & feuding with Austin/Rock. He was the biggest heel besides Vince. Mick Foley 5th. Kane 6th. Chris Jericho 7th. HBK 8th (limited) Kurt Angle 9th. Big Show 10th. That’s the Attitude Era’s Top 10.
Thriple H definitely was a big player in the attitude era and deserves everything he got he worked for. Besides dating and marrying the boss is beautiful daughter it's just icing on the cake
I wonder if any wwe stars watch your videos or even HHH and anyone from the front office. I bet they would love it. We need to make this happen for my guy because of his dedication he has for his videos/channel. You sir are "The Game" of TH-cam wrestling channels.
Off topic, but... Jesus Christ that "Winged Eagle" Championship Strap was beautiful. I don't mind the current belts a much as most fans, but they need to go back to that belt ASAP and NEVER change it again. The white IC strap should do the same.
HHH is/was perfect. I loved every segment with him in his prime. When he became the Game, he was awsome, the look, the attitude, the ability. I don't care about the reign of terror, it was fun. I miss wrestlers like HHH these days. There is no one on the horizon.
With a slew of fan favorites leading the Attitude Era in Austin, Rock, Mankind, Taker, DX, etc. They needed a full blown heel, and Triple H was the perfect catalyst to keep it all running.
The Game is one of the greatest ...his "persona" his moveset his promos ...its just perfect there may be better wrestlers when it comes to working but a wrestler must always be seen as a complete package and HHH was a perfect package (unlike Luger ;) if you get it...)
I'm a Triple H fan too so I know how it feels....how it feels to keep winning lol during the early to mid 2000's it was like having your home team win the championship or should I say retain the championship every month it was a great time to be a fan of the Game.
I feel it’s unpopular in this comment thread to say this... but Motörhead’s theme is just simply the best. The whole thing from start to finish is so fantastic, even trip takes his time to the ring to hear more of it, and time his water spit 😅
Amazing channel my friend, love the look back at all these wrestlers and their impacts during specific time periods. You’ve made me take interest in aspects I simply didn’t think to look at closely. And I love details, and backstories. Great content We’re long past the good ole days. But your videos bring them back to life. Along with the network. Newly subscribed , and glad to have found your channel. - Being that you have the perspective you do, I’m curious, and have been for some time about why Rock never got a WWF championship at Mania? - I definitely get Austin going over, both years of their matches.(though the heel turn was so unnecessary, I understand it was to depict Austin’s desperate desire to be the champion, but the ridiculous amount of chair shots really killed the climax for the finish. Rather, he would have stunned Vince and then walked off, which I believe is something Austin said) - 2000 really should have went to The Rock, Austin May still have been able make an appearance at mania and gave out chair shots to the newly reunited mcmahons. Which would have made for a far greater moment, though backlash was incredible. Spoiling the night and allowing Rock to finish off trips while Vince is laid out to the side. WM 18 should have been hunters to cap off his big comeback. - But 2000, no. He already solidified himself as a top guy and Thee top heel by beating Foley twice. Also he won the trio,e threat main event in raw With Big show and Rock. Mania was Overkill.
Triple H is a goat . I was 4 during the attitude era and even though I hated him I was spitting out water as much as I was raising my eyebrows and sticking up middle fingers
But honestly i dont know anyone who considers triple h their favorite wrestler, yet he became one of the biggest names in the business and has held the world title countless times.. but again i dont know anyone who would say he’s their favorite wrestler
Triple H is an unabashed politician and regular burier, but the undeniable truth is that he's a legit main eventer and all-time great. Sheer fan reaction has turned him face at least four times, that doesn't happen to wrestlers they don't care about. His toughness also cannot be questioned, especially after finishing matches with torn quads. Good face, legendary heel.
My favorite wrestler of ALL TIME. The outfit I’m wearing in my profile pic was modeled after him. Also “My Time” is the greatest entrance theme I’ve ever heard. It used to stay on repeat on WWF The Music volume 4.
Hell ya loved this. I get why Triple H gets so much heat, but even growing up watching him I always saw him as a legitimately entertaining heel. Keep it up man!
HHH in late 99-2000 was fu€king unstoppable. The top guys of the Attitude Era like Austin, The Rock, and Mick Foley looked like they couldn’t stand a chance against HHH back then.
I always enjoyed Haitch's work as a heel. He was damn good at what he did. But all the shade thrown at him is well deserved as well. He's done a lot, accomplished a lot, but there's no way he would have gone as far as he did without the connections. Also don't like how many people he buried to make sure the lights were always on him. In short there's a damn good reason he's considered the modern day Hulk Hogan but despite that, same for Hulk, they're enjoyable as all hell wrestlers.
I loved his "My Time" theme out of all his themes.

They had a better street fight in 2000
Zemo X2 both street fights mentioned were awesome and HHH as the game persona was terrified facing Cactus Jack at the Royal Rumble 2000
HHH had *nothing* on Scott Steiner's ability to draw heat. You just know that the crowd would have cheered their asses off if someone had literally shot him in the ring.
@@budwyzer77 Triple H took the golden shovel to Steiner because no one was allowed to be a better heel than him.
I liked HHH and he became my favorite as soon as he changed his gimmick with the My Time theme.
For me there is no question about it. HHH is my favorite wrestler ever. I loved his rise to the top of the mountain during the late 90's-early 00's.
One of the best intros I every seen, played it back a few times.
@@jokerzwild00 I completely agree with you. But I think it is fair to say he was the best heel in the world during late 1999.
@@liquidgeorge Scott Steiner, dude. EVERYONE wanted to see him get completely wrecked.
The best heel of the AE would be Vinny Mac! Trips is second.
Crazy to witness Triple Hs transformation at the time. My favorite version of him but I despised him at the time 😂
that's how you know he was good. 8 - 10 year old me hated Bobby Heenan but I've been rewatching all the Wrestlemanias and Summer Slams and Bobby gets me doubled over laughing many times per show.
Me too
OMG AND HE STARTED IT WITH THE BEST THEME SONG EVERRRRR
Kane and X-pac: one of the most underrated tag teams
Yes it was xpac was a awesome wrestler
This is one of my favorite ones you have done. Triple H was always my fav since late '97 and that "My Time" promo was golden.
Hhh is my favorite wrestler ever hes why i started working out at 15 im 37 and train every day still
Love him or hate him we loved to hate him, Triple H was a legendary heel.
Yea, a legendary brown noser!
Just imagine after DX Collapsed if HHH just disappeared. Would he have been missed? Now imagine is Flare or Piper dissapeared, devastating loss. Nothing special about him other than having the Voodoo stick to stuff in Stephanie.
@@ham-mantheman-ham634 with no HHH and no Reign of Terror the early-mid 2000s would have been a lot more exciting, that's for sure!
@@TrevStoker The Rock was a better heel who could do more in a 20 second promo than HHH could in 20 minutes.
One of the most underrated heel turn/transformations of all time.
The “yeaahhh, is this on?” Theme gives me chills still.
Great stuff I've been waiting for this for a long time
I enjoyed Triple H’s heel run for the title especially his new My Time entrance music. I saw potential there for an awesome heel character and it came full circle when he came out to Time to Play the Game. His heel character is so memorable, in my opinion, because of his memorable entrance songs.
“My time” was the dogs bollox of a theme tune
I agree, his Survivor Series 2000 theme was also brilliant
its basically the same riff as The Game just without Motorhead and Lemmy's vocals
@@NGDemonSlayer12
Probably gonna get crucified for saying this publicly, but I actually prefer My Time to Motorhead's The Game...
As a kid I couldn’t stand Triple H but I always looked forward to hearing his theme because (no pun intended) it was that damn good
@@htownborn92
Absolutely!
Yo Jimmy hit me wit' dat Triple Aaaitcha!
Wrestling Bios do you want to go one on one with the undataka on smack down inside the hell in a cell tag team match playa
This was better than king of kings theme.
TheBestFighter TELLING ME WHO AND WHAT TO BE
The Motorhead theme was epic...
Which one?
This bothers me to this day. She helped HHH escape Austin at no mercy. And then that's it
Question: were Stephanie and Chyna ever together for any segments with Triple H?
My FAVORITE Wrestler of all time & this was a EPIC intro and a very done story with production!
So vince mcmahon doesnt exist?
Terry Bogard thats another good one. Steiner in wcw was a truly amazing heel
Facts same here
"I'm that Damn Good" -- Triple H
His Theme My Time suited him
My favorite triple h incarnation is the pre 2001 quad tear
He was kinda still the same imo untill evolution started
@@slowburnraloh1807 true, after he married Stephanie in real life his character became God and the shovel was strong
The my time theme is easily his best theme
you forgot Mick Foley...he was way bigger than Hhh then
@@NoOne-kx7zs No way.
U could see triple h was becoming a star in late 98 to early 99 after wrestlemania 15 then it was off to the races about fully loaded 99
If someone from wwe saw this they simply false copyright flag it bc he used network clips eveh though its fair use, they dont like this
Off topic, but... Jesus Christ that "Winged Eagle" Championship Strap was beautiful. I don't mind the current belts a much as most fans, but they need to go back to that belt ASAP and NEVER change it again. The white IC strap should do the same.
Around mid-2000 it finally dawned on me that Hunter made it. Yeah... he grabbed that brass ring and ate it.
So your calling Stephanie McMahon a brass ring?
@@rayb.1180 It worked wonders.
Triple H was my favourite while growing up through the attitude era.
After Bret Hart, HHH was my fav...the thought of that episode when he came back after the surgery still gives me goose bumps
Yea the place was on fire what a pop
We hated to see him but we damn sure missed him when he was gone
HHH is/was perfect. I loved every segment with him in his prime. When he became the Game, he was awsome, the look, the attitude, the ability. I don't care about the reign of terror, it was fun. I miss wrestlers like HHH these days. There is no one on the horizon.
Top class as always.
I loved My Time theme, it's up their with Austin disturbed theme or Jericho Judas
With a slew of fan favorites leading the Attitude Era in Austin, Rock, Mankind, Taker, DX, etc. They needed a full blown heel, and Triple H was the perfect catalyst to keep it all running.
The Game is one of the greatest ...his "persona" his moveset his promos ...its just perfect
there may be better wrestlers when it comes to working but a wrestler must always be seen as a complete package and HHH was a perfect package (unlike Luger ;) if you get it...)
He was so great with that My Time theme. His hungriest
I'm a Triple H fan too so I know how it feels....how it feels to keep winning lol during the early to mid 2000's it was like having your home team win the championship or should I say retain the championship every month it was a great time to be a fan of the Game.
My favorite Triple H theme is "King of Kings" love the badass riff thats in it
I have MY TIME, THE GAME and EVOLUTION... on my gym playlist 🔥
My all time favorite. I fan then. A fan now . And forever.
Been waiting for this one thanks in advance
I love the intro mashup of all his songs !
I feel it’s unpopular in this comment thread to say this... but Motörhead’s theme is just simply the best. The whole thing from start to finish is so fantastic, even trip takes his time to the ring to hear more of it, and time his water spit 😅
Which one?
I’m a HHH mark and I’m not ashamed.
It's time to play The Game.
Hunter Hurst Helmsley triple hhh is the game no triple hhh haters allowed
Amazing channel my friend, love the look back at all these wrestlers and their impacts during specific time periods. You’ve made me take interest in aspects I simply didn’t think to look at closely. And I love details, and backstories. Great content
We’re long past the good ole days. But your videos bring them back to life. Along with the network. Newly subscribed , and glad to have found your channel.

Being that you have the perspective you do, I’m curious, and have been for some time about why Rock never got a WWF championship at Mania?
-
I definitely get Austin going over, both years of their matches.(though the heel turn was so unnecessary, I understand it was to depict Austin’s desperate desire to be the champion, but the ridiculous amount of chair shots really killed the climax for the finish. Rather, he would have stunned Vince and then walked off, which I believe is something Austin said)
-
2000 really should have went to The Rock, Austin May still have been able make an appearance at mania and gave out chair shots to the newly reunited mcmahons. Which would have made for a far greater moment, though backlash was incredible.
Spoiling the night and allowing Rock to finish off trips while Vince is laid out to the side. WM 18 should have been hunters to cap off his big comeback.
-
But 2000, no.
HHH is the only one who could have pulled off the "game" gimmick. His physique was unbelievable. He looked like a monster in the ring.
It's all about the game. Triple h is better than all of the current wwe roster, only few come close to him
Let's keep it real everybody's done the Triple H water spit in the air that he does 😂
No absolutely no-
Okay maybe once🤣
But honestly i dont know anyone who considers triple h their favorite wrestler, yet he became one of the biggest names in the business and has held the world title countless times.. but again i dont know anyone who would say he’s their favorite wrestler
Love this channel
It would have been awesome to have Chyna as WWF Champion.
I will always like Triple H and I'm a Fan for life.
This is his best theme song of all time
Triple H will always be the king of kings because a king think smart and move swiftly.
HHH in late 99-2000 was fu€king unstoppable. The top guys of the Attitude Era like Austin, The Rock, and Mick Foley looked like they couldn’t stand a chance against HHH back then.
Is that y Austin refused to drop the title to him?
HHH sucked
yandere girls Austin put HHH over in three stages of hell after he won Royal Rumble 2001 and was on his way to WM X7.
The best nicknames of all time THE GAME and THE CEREBRAL ASSASSIN
3 stages of hell match was classic
Love how u started the video with his best theme song
I always enjoyed Haitch's work as a heel. He was damn good at what he did. But all the shade thrown at him is well deserved as well. He's done a lot, accomplished a lot, but there's no way he would have gone as far as he did without the connections. Also don't like how many people he buried to make sure the lights were always on him. In short there's a damn good reason he's considered the modern day Hulk Hogan but despite that, same for Hulk, they're enjoyable as all hell wrestlers.
I feel like with the right push, X-Pac would've been the strong leader to fill the void when Hunter left.
DX really helped make Triple H "The Game."
Or the game made dx and was the plan the whole time lol
Yes I absolutely loved this trip down memory lane! HHH, The Game, whatever you call him, was the best in the business and for the business
