Another awesome video. I was also pleased to see my MTR shot cci standard very well. The only thing that bothered me was how hard I had to push my bolt down to fully seat that ammo. I will be testing more ammo in the coming weeks but regardless I'm glad it likes the inexpensive cci standard.
My MTR also had a hard bolt close originally. It seems to have settled in a bit and I don't notice it anymore (still a tight close but not struggling). This is about 1000 rounds in
how do you determine what intervals/increments to do? Do you ever use solely a ballistics calculator, or do you always verify dope with actually shooting it?
Hey Matt more awesome content, you're a phenomenal ambassador for the sport! There's a few things I'd love to hear your take on for LR 22LR. I'm trying to kit out and see what my Savage B22 precision can do. 1) any noteworthy disadvantages to a pic rail to arca adaptor bipod mount? 2) bubble levels necessary or no? 3) best practice for verifying scope is leveled + tracks properly 4) strelok pro for rimfire any specific considerations? Cheers!
Hey Thanks. 1) I've never used a pic to arca adapter, but I'd assume it would work fine, it would just add some height to the bipod overall. 2) I like to confirm my rifle is level for targets beyond 200yds quickly.. anything inside of that distance you can definitely get away without a level 3) I like to use a plumb line, then level the rifle, then straighten the scope reticle to the plumb line. 4) I use strelok pro as my primary ballistics solution. As long as you take the time to make sure you inputs are correct, it will work well. Cheers!
the reason your data doesn't match your curve is because mils is a course measuring stick. example: at 100 yds your impact is four inches from the bullseye. that is an 11 click correction in mils, and a 12 click adjustment in moa.
Your numbers look a bit skewed with a 50 yard zero. I'm surprised you need 1.1 and 2.4 for 75 and 100, respectively. Maybe it's the colder weather, but I would have expected .7-.8 and 1.7-1.8 for 75 and 100, respectively. I'm curious as to the muzzle velocity you were getting that morning.
It was about -5C or ~23F that day. I think some of my data needs to be revisited as well. I was not getting hits past 100yd the day of the match. I ran some simplified data through JBM ballistics and I think I may have been off. It's hard to use the calculator without chrono data though.
Have you got a link for your .excel ? I used same SK red as you with my MTR . This year , it’s the first time in FRANCE , competition 22lr up to 500m « kind of Miles on Caylus »
I don't have a link, but it would best for you to gather your data regardless, I'm shooting in very cold conditions. Also, when I upload the match recap, you'll see some of my DOPE was a bit off and I need to revisit some distances.
Not sure if it's a bad angle, but sure looks like it. I appreciate the concern though, I'm usually very aware of that. Another good reason to leave the bolt open until you're ready to fire
Nice to see the process
Nice to see someone sharing the effort they're putting in for match preparation. Really nice set up you are shooting there.
Thanks, the rifle shoots well
Answered a lot of my questions, great job, thanks !

Love your set up. Great job it saves me researching.
Thanks, glad to help.

Love you Channel. Can you please tell me what D.O.P.E. stands for?
Data obtained on previous engagements
What barrel are you using and length? Great video. Thanks 😊
That was the stock CZ MTR 20” barrel
Hi Womfat, what Ballistics Calculator did you use? I'm looking at getting into NRL22 down here in Australia, cheers mate
Strelok pro
What happened to your iPhone.

Do you mind sharing the calculator you used?
I used JBM ballistics
Can’t read the dope, why show it???
Please take this as a friendly notice. On frame 5:57 you had your finger on the trigger when you were manipulating and mounting up on the rifle.

Too much talking …. Get to it.
