I have found that barricade bags work best with a heavy sand fill. Rear bags work best with a 50:50 sand/poly bead mix. This enhanced "squeeze rise." Good luck on your first match! The community tends to hate on participants rolling their own, but I think it is necessary for innovation. The best practice for match shooting is shooting matches

For the issue shown at 10:35, how about using the winged bag with the flat side down, wings up and the rifle sitting between the wings? That might allow you to use that bag going in between the ladder rungs without getting hung up as much.

I had tried that and it works, but it's still a bit less ideal than the rectangular bag because of how it flexes differently. It tends to bend more because of the shape whereas the other bag stays more flat

I also use a smaller bag for ladder barricades. I have a bag that looks like yours with a loop sewed in where I can just still place the barrel and forend through the loop. I'll just stick that through and leave the bag on it like that so I'm not having to pick up the bag. EDIT: Just noticed you did that about 16 min in.

I agree the barrel strap is handy. I'll be developing some more designs with adjustable/removable straps soon.

@@Womfat removable would be a plus so less bags do more situations.

What are the dimensions on these bags and do you have patterns for sale? Great video.
