Many years later I find your channel and this particular rifle. ,$750 somebody really got a helluva rifle.
Trying to build one at this time just like the one in your video. Thanks for posting a very informative video.

CZ and Tikka are very popular too.

Definitely options we are considering going forward. Thanks for the comment - good addition to the conversation.

Really like this series! Curious to know if you’ve seen other base setups in the year since you did this that you think might be better.

CZ457 and Arken Optics would be a much better option.

Great series guys, many thanks for the time on this. I'll be looking for NRL22 matches as discussed.
I bought an RPR as displayed with similar diamondback a few weeks before this post, total joy to shoot.
These folks at Arnzen know their stuff, well worth the visit.

Thanks brother! These were fun to do. We will revisit NRL22 as an open shooter some time this year.

Nice series guys! I'd love to see you put together an Open version - let me know if you need help!
For the locals - all of the MN NRL22 style matches are on our calendar here:
    calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?src=mnnrl22calendar%40gmail.com
On scopes, I'd recommend sticking to the 5-25X+ range over the lower power, as the high power comes in very handy when shooting paper and being able to see your hits. For the steel, most of us typically shoot in the 10-14x range for faster target acquisition, but a few folks like to dial it up. Unless your budget really limits you to a lower power range, go with the higher power.
That extended long range match you mentioned is the "King of .28 Miles" (500 yards). FLSC is experimenting with shooting out to 400 yards as well. Shooters have to prove the ability to dial and hold as needed to reach those distances before shooting the long range stage. At those distances, selecting a scope with 100+ MOA of elevation adjustment &/or a 30MOA scope base become more important.

Loved this series! Just getting back into rifles after more than a decade and picked up an RPR .17 HMR with a Diamondback 4-16x44. My daughter (12) is about to start learning also, so will be looking at the same setup with the .22 LR so she can compete in the NRL22 here in Australia (not sure if it's called the same thing, but what's been described to me seems practically identical). Just a pity we aren't allowed cans over here! Great advice on the accessories - thanks for making this.

David Chance same here. I’m a new shooter and about to get set up, and found this series really helpful (thanks guys).
Reckon something like this could be my first rig 🤔

Part 1&2. I only have the 4-16. Did I screw up not spending more on the 24x?? Soon as I head that at 7min I had to run it back to listen lol.

We used a 4-16 for almost a year and did just fine. We did eventually move to a 6-24 though.

Thanks Heaps Guys these 3 videos have been great for me Like you were saying in the first video I am an oldie and haven't shot for years My Son in law took me and the Mrs out a few weeks ago and we had a few shots Hope you don't think I am arrogant for saying this but the last time we both shot no one used scopes (you know how old I am now😂) and we used scopes this time and couldn't believe how easy it was to hit what we wanted to This Ruger is ideal for what I want to do to start off with until I go to a larger caliber and then it will still be great for a cheap trainer They are a bit more expensive in Australia than over there though 😂👍Thanks again guys fantastic Cheers ✌️

Very COOL I need to get into this. Something I can get into with a 10/22. Need to look into this NRL22 in California

There are many NRL22 clubs in Cali. My first match was with a 10/22, there are a couple shooters that use them. My son shoots with his 10/22 and does fairly well. The bolt guns are far more accurate though and if you stick with the comps, you will most likely move to a bolt.

Great set of videos guys. Today I brought my AR15 to the range and my 10/22 on a whim. I enjoyed the 10/22 out to 100 yards way more so I started looking at NRL22. Great intro and just what I needed. Keep it up. God bless guys.

FlyRiverFly, if we were not clear about our intentions let me be so now. We want to sell guns AND promote shooting sports. I take full responsibility for failing to have both intentions present for you in this short video series. Thanks for watching and commenting.

@@minnesota3gun I got what the idea of the video was right away. No complaints. I enjoyed the whole thing and am putting together my 22 so I can compete too. Looking forward to it.
